Andy | Monday, November 30, 2020 - 08:18 am Cost of the defense forces The cost of ammunition is declined again by an average of 15%. Both defensive and offensive cost is reduced. The reduction is in the base price. The real price is decided on the market but the price ranges are now lower. The reduction will take some time to influence the maintenance cost of the army because countries bought ammunition at a higher price before and the maintenance cost depends on the average purchase price. The cost of weapons is increased by a small margin. and also the cost of all nuclear weapons is increased. The cost of maintenance products remained unchanged. These changes are aimed at a long term effort to reduce the cost of the army. We have made several reductions before. Newspapers on the country page We have updated an information block on the country home page to include both newspapers, the local one and the onternational one. The newspaper info is at the bottom of the page but as you probably know, you can move information blocks around or remove them to customize the page. Country page information we continue to make small changes to the country page. We have again removed some information that is obsolete or appears twice. This time, we have simplified the corporation menu at the top of the page because many commands were in sub menus but also available as tabs on the corporations page. Migration Migration was always an insignificant feature in Simcountry and most countries had zero immigration even when the country was economically attractive. We are now changing the function and it will start showing growing numbers of immigrants. Work is in progress. We expect the function to be completed in the coming days. Corporate profits Corporations are turning larger profits in the past months and countries that are managed correctly can make excellent profits. In the process, we have seen average PE ratios declining a bit which will probably help corporations reach the conditions to go public. Population in C3 countries Population in C3 countries are growing and will probably reach 23 to 25 millions. The growth is slow and it will take them a long time to get to these levels. Many of the C3 countries now have a population of 16 to 18 millions. |
Andy | Monday, November 30, 2020 - 08:26 am Wars against C3 countries As we have promised, we will introduce a feature that will allow countries in any war level fight C3 countries in a lower war level for strategic reasons. The war level of the C3 country will depend on the size of the empire. Such wars will not earn the winner any benefits nor any gold coins but will allow you to conquer countries in different regions and continents. The option to fight a C3 country at a higher war level will remain and will deliver the winner gold coin awards as in the current situation. The feature is being developed and will be added to Simcountry within several weeks. |
Lord Mndz | Monday, November 30, 2020 - 09:41 am Great news! thanks Andy |
Dbl D | Monday, November 30, 2020 - 01:53 pm All excellent news. Thank You. |
E O | Monday, November 30, 2020 - 05:03 pm Really good stuff, Andy. Thanks! |
Vlad48 | Wednesday, December 2, 2020 - 08:22 am so what happens to corps that produce ammunition now with -15% prices? do they got -XX% costs in input materials, workforce, etc? increase 15% in production output ? or they simply become unprofitable and die? |
Andy | Friday, December 4, 2020 - 02:17 pm Good question. When we make such changes, we keep the profitability level as it was before. This time, most corporations that produce ammunition, produce more. The turnover remains the same. There are other ways too but 15% is quite high and we had to increase production. This is no problem at this time. The markets are in the red for most products. Increasing production of ammunition might reduce some of these shortages. If any of these products will show a surplus, there will be a quick reaction by C3 countries that will close some of the surplus corporations and build new corporations that are producing products that are in short supply. This is an auto correct mechanism, the numbers of changing corporations remain small because changes are not large and the markets remain in good shape. |
Dbl D | Sunday, December 6, 2020 - 08:47 pm I might have changed something I've been doing without realizing it, but only in the last few days has the P/E of my mining corps (running out of resources) been too high to IPO. Has anyone else encountered this? |
E O | Monday, December 7, 2020 - 01:36 am Yes, DblD. I was about to post the same thing. It's much more difficult to IPO corps than it was a couple of weeks ago. Increased profits in corps are great, but the values are going up as a result. |
E O | Monday, December 7, 2020 - 07:34 pm In fact, I used to have a system of altering tax rate / profit transfer that'd allow me to IPO just about any corp I want. Now, I'm lucky if I can IPO 20% of the corps I want. It's extremely difficult now. |
Andy | Friday, December 11, 2020 - 03:54 pm I will look into it. I was wondering about it too but as profits are up, values go up too. |
Seth Kush | Tuesday, December 15, 2020 - 12:48 am oh Great ! I was just thinking about P/E, a few weeks ago I noticed the change, so I decided to decrease the percent in profit transfers, hoping value would increase, it was a minimal effect. Thanks for keeping us up to date |
