Hi All,

I have been observing the situation for quite some time and it is obvious that we have a critical problem in presidents and CEO collaboration. Two main entities of the game do not collaborate because game dynamic prevents player vs player interaction.

For a very long time it was not clear for me how this could be solved but I recently found a very simple solution which I believe can improve this situation a lot.

problem1

The essence of the problem that for CEO there are no benefits of building in player controlled countries. Players can only cause risks as:
  • New and developing countries have low welfare, which causes smaller production
  • higher than average salaries - because presidents compete with CEO controlled corporations
  • Taxes can go much higher than 30%
  • Hiring situation is usually bad
  • Presidents often decide to take over corporation to get full profit from corporation

Having those conditions CEO chooses(is forced) to build in C3 countries and is not interested in collaboration/cooperation with presidents... which is very very very sad for the game. I see messages in forums where Presidents are asking for CEOs to build corporations in their countries but CEOs are not gaining a single benefit to do that, they are only gaining risks.

Luckily this situation can be changed simply by increasing Welfare index by some amount for corporations built in president controlled countries.
Increase in welfare index will cause production level to increase and corporation will gain more income.

index3

Below table shows how increase in welfare index could increase income for CEO and for the Country. (Look at PROFIT CEO/Country rows). Welfare index 120 is the default and most standard in C3.

My suggestion would be to give a 20-30 points index increase for CEO corporations which are built in player controlled countries.

calculation2

This might look as a very little change but it would be enough that CEO chose player controlled countries over C3 which is massive change in players behavior.

  • Both parties would only get more income if CEO is doing fine
  • Attracting CEOs would be actually worth doing for both parties, this would cause players and CEO to interact on forums and develop the countries/CEO together
  • Hostile bidding would mean lower income so nobody will do that
  • Increasing taxes will mean that CEO will look for other president or chose C3 country. This is also interaction player vs player
  • CEO would train people to teach how to develop country, how to increase hiring
  • CEO finally would get some power over presidents to make decision to stay or move out.
  • As CEO corporation would be more productive the total number of corporations in the world will decrease
  • CEO corporation will be stronger to survive under bad market conditions

The bonuses are many, but most important that player will interact with other players to build a common goodwill.

Lord Mndz,

Interesting ideas.

Although the choice of Player controlled country, vs C3 country, for a CEO, also depends on the quality of the President.

My Country has nearly 135 welfare index, 0% Corporate Taxes, and active management, to prevent workforce shortages. Try finding that in a C3 ;)

As for what the President gets, upto 80% of the workers in CEO controlled corporations, are 'free' for the President. Because having CEO controlled corporations in your country, enables Presidents to return the Disabled, and Housewives, to the workforce.

If any CEOs, on LU, are looking for a highly profitable place to base their Corporations, my country is always open. I close State Corps to make room for Private Corps, if there is a shortage of workforce.

Daniel,

can you tell me what CEO gets from building in player controlled countries? - nothing, only risks. Taxes cannot be set very low because then you will not have money to develop your country.

For me this is about encouraging interaction, which is missing especially for new presidents. They cannot get welfare to 135 but they could find friendly CEO to help them to build and train to be better with the country. this is most important. I dream about seeing forum full of people looking for friends to help each other in growing.

*** little correction, i mixed ceo profit and country profit rows. Profit CEO row shows how much country gets(757M) and country profit row shows how much CEO earns(363M).

Lord Mndz,

I agree completely with the goals. I was just saying, that even if the changes don't happen, or take time to happen. There are still ways CEOs and Presidents can work together.

A CEO can get a higher Welfare Index, and a lower Tax Rate, by setting up in a Player's country. Provided they choose the right country. That can lead to the Corporation being far more profitable, than it would be otherwise.

When I first started playing the game, a lot of the early interaction I had, was with CEOs wanting to help me improve my country, so their Corporations could be more profitable.

Then, once I became more experienced, I started helping some of the CEOs based in my country, by teaching them how to run Corporations better. So that I could benefit from more revenue.

I try to avoid random player countries if at all possible and go through my list looking for high taxes and moving corps on occasion. Sending me a message about a single specific corp in a country is a definite reason to move.

@johanas, when you are building corporations and you need to select to search among c3 or player controlled countries, which option do you select.

I think most choose c3, and this is where interaction is killed. My post is about why is it so.

I search for c3's if all possible unless I know the President involved.

Exactly, and this is so wrong, people should be motivated enough to do otherwise.

I also use C3s mostly. They are managed better than most player countries :)

Would it be possible to add a feature where countries can bid for enterprises? With either an upfront cash payment or a guarantee of something? Might be a nice incentive.

This is a good idea. As it is I avoid player controlled countries because it is not worth it.
