John Galt | Thursday, November 21, 2019 - 10:05 pm I think spending space amount should be influenced by game level and war level. For every game level, non military and ceo spending space could increase by 5%, and for every war level, military spending space could increase by 5%. This would encourage players to increase their war levels and to run their countries in such a way to increase game level. What do you all think? |
evader23 | Thursday, November 21, 2019 - 10:11 pm I am not sure that would make a differance I have't ever run into spending space limits |
Letsie | Thursday, November 21, 2019 - 10:26 pm I like this change and think it might actually encourage people to go for higher levels. But it would benefit the stronger players a lot more then the weaker players. Right now I have to keep a strong military somewhere in my empire/ceo's that I can transport in at a moments notice. Even a 10% increase in monthly spending would mean that I can keep fewer defensive troops on stand by because I can just buy them when I need them. Say that I am game lvl x and war lvl y that together allows me to increase my spending by just 10% That would mean for just 1 country I can spend 35B more per game month. The time between a deceleration and the war going active is 48 hours. That comes down to 12 game months. That is 420B extra that I can spend on military per country. The best players have anywhere between 4 and 20 countries. Lets say they have 5 on average that would be well over 2T extra I can buy with just a 10% increase. If anything I think the spending space should actually be lowered to force people to stock up on weapons and prepare more in advance. I really like the idea but I do not think it would be wise to implement it. @Evader23 I run into the max spending all the time especially when I am prepping for war. It is there for good reason, just be grateful that you have never encountered it before it means you are still yong and innocent :P |
John Galt | Thursday, November 21, 2019 - 11:20 pm Personally I dont think there should be spending limits but I doubt Andy would ever allow that. This game loves restricting players haha. |
Lord Mndz | Friday, November 22, 2019 - 09:55 am I think John suggestion regarding military budgets really makes sence. A lot of new ppl overspend and get high debt because they do not understand real value of money and needed weapons to progress with war levels. Regarding game level and country spending i do not agree as country can be big with low level and that can cause problems to build roads, hospitals or simply buy daily products country uses. |
Andy | Friday, November 22, 2019 - 03:02 pm We had much higher spending levels with serious consequences. Uncheck spending is unrealistic and can distort the market. Countries in the real world are much more restricted in their spendings and in the levels of debt they can have. If we increase the levels, the next comment will be that we want high spending to force people to purchase gold coins. been there, done that. This feature protects players against themselves and prevents bankruptcies. |
Lord Mndz | Friday, November 22, 2019 - 07:20 pm Andy, I know it will be hard for you to believe but I am actually asking to reduce military spending budgets, - decrease them for most players, make them dependent on war levels. I think the current military spending limits are too high for 99% of people. That leads them to mistakes that they cannot handle. here is my suggestion. Just look how many we can buy with 700B limit. It is ok for me and few more big players but is insanely huge amount for new ones. I do believe that spending wise means having war levels that control your budgets. Few thousands of batteries are enough to kill first C3 countries. |
tamarawerkt | Friday, November 22, 2019 - 10:13 pm Hello all, As a new and free player I find this discussion rather interesting. From the first day that I have been playing I've had plenty of help and advice. Even with this advice my first attempt at simcountry came to a crashing halt because I bought 1000 quality 330 units. The debt I suddenly had was just to much. Please do not raise the spending limit. For free/new players it is already very high. The biggest problem for new players is that the order limit does not account for quality. Lord mndz. To get to war lvl 3 I used 1000 offensive anti aircaft batteries and 1000 bombers and this was already far to much. I could have done it with 500 offensive anti aircraft and 600/700 bombers without any problem. In the end I had to restart again because I messed up despite all the help I received. Getting used to simcountry is hard and takes some practice. Lowering the spending limit would really help most people. |
Lord Mndz | Friday, November 22, 2019 - 10:46 pm Thanks for support Tamara. Feel free to chip in to any discussions to give new player's perspective, -game masters really want this game to be a very good playing experience and your opinion really matters. |
