| Wednesday, September 18, 2019 - 05:38 pm Dear Angel, I never meant to scare you! Although, I have to say, of all the scary movies, Michael Myers, of the Halloween series is my favorite character! He's the scariest by far of them all! He is just scary standing there! Every year during the Halloween season, my friends and I go to staged haunted houses. My favorite part is when Michael Myers appears. Well I remember going through this one haunted house, and the dude that played Michael Myers was wimpy. I was expressing my extreme disappointment out loud when I go to walk through this door. AND THEN, I find myself face to face with Michael Myers standing not a hair's breadth away!!!! He wouldn't let me pass for like 5 minutes! He circled around to get back of me! ha ha ha ha ha All my friends were dying laughing, cuz I was screaming and hiding my face. ha ha ha

| Wednesday, September 18, 2019 - 08:55 pm Every once in a while I share this story with the community of Simcountry - the infamous story of The Bell Witch of Tennessee. You may have seen the movie, An American Haunting, with Sissy Spacek and Donald Sutherland, which depicted this terror in the lives of the family of John Bell. I will preface my account of the legend by saying that I have visited the Cave on the property where the haunting occurred, as both a tourist and as a news reporter. I actually knew of this story from when I was a little girl. It was legend and has historical accounts. Even Andrew Jackson had a historically written encounter with the witch. The movie, American Haunting, portrayed a different theory of the haunting than the one I knew and from the published account that I read in The Bell Witch of Tennessee. What I know is that the haunting took place after the death of a neighbor lady, Kate Batts, who had a land dispute with John Bell. John Bell and his family settled in 1804 in Robertson County, TN in a city named Adams. This is about 45 min to an hour away from Nashville, TN. Thirteen years later, the family (mainly John Bell and the daughter, Betsy) received the most vicious attacks from the witch, ultimately resulting in death for John Bell. It is purported that the witch poisoned him. She also was dead set against the relationship that the daughter, Betsy, was having with Joshua Gardner. The cave is where Betsy would meet with her beau, and where many strange things occurred. The haunting started out with sightings of strange animals on the land, furniture rattling and sliding across the floors of the home, knocking sounds inside and outside the home. There were reported rat-gnawing sounds on bed posts and sounds of gurgling and choking. The episodes eventually became more violent with slaps, hair pulling, beatings, etc. It ultimately ended up with John Bell being poisoned by the witch and Betsy breaking up with her boyfriend. | Friday, September 20, 2019 - 04:59 am This story is pretty well known in the country I live, and people seem to have very similar stories related to this. This specific one happens to be about my great grandfather. So, he's out early in the morning on his bicycle, probably on his way to buy milk or something. On the way, he encounters a small, white, baby goat, and he decides, hey I might as well take this boy home with me. Now the bicycles here have an attachment at the back that makes it perfect to put a baby goat there, with the baby goats legs hanging either side. No, my great granddad happy and quite excited for having found a baby goat decides to head back home and starts cycling. He's starts cycling but for some reason, moving forward gets tougher by the second. He's only been cycling for like 5 seconds now and he can barely move forward at this point, so he turns around. To his horror, the baby goat is still on the stand, but the goats hoofs are still where he picked the goat up, and the baby goats legs have stretched all the way back to where it started. He freaks out, drops the baby goat and cycles back home.

| Saturday, September 21, 2019 - 11:56 pm Alright how about this one: Mommy told me never to go in the basement, but I wanted to see what was making that noise. It kind of sounded like a puppy, and I wanted to see the puppy, so I opened the basement door and tiptoed down a bit. I did not see a puppy, and then Mommy yanked me out of the basement and yelled at me. Mommy had never yelled at me before, and it made me sad and I cried. Then Mommy told me never to go into the basement again, and she gave me a cookie. That made me feel better, so I did not ask her why the boy in the basement was making noises like a puppy, or why he had no hands or feet.

| Sunday, September 22, 2019 - 08:48 pm One of my favourite seasons to -Fall and Halloween. I have heard of the legend and story concerning the Bell Witch of Tennessee and to this day it is one of the few and true documented cases of a real haunting. I saw the movie too which was great. Also well on subject of Halloween -be kind to black cats (and dogs). They really are special and good, not sinister. Black cats are actually lucky!!!

By the way, the asteroid I told you about in 2040, is not going to happen God stopped it. But the people and the things from heaven will appear on the earth after all the wars stopped and the remaining humans will get new bodies and be young again and we will live forever eternity.

I've been to the cave several times. The last time I went, we took pictures inside the cave, and the pictures showed orbs and a strange mist. The cave owners were very interested and asked us to send them. I do have to share one thing about the tour. We were walking along and the tour guide says, "Do not take any rocks or anything with you. Bad things have happened to those who have taken them in the past, and they have eventually sent them back!" Following the tour, we are walking back to the car. My brother, who was with us, leans over and whispers in my ear..."I took a rock, it's in my pocket." I started freaking out! He died laughing and admitted that he didn't. He, my husband and friends died laughing at me. lol

| Thursday, September 26, 2019 - 05:09 pm Dear Michael, my angel: I am so sorry to hear that you are back in the hospital. I pray that you are doing better. While being in the hospital is yucky, it is the best place to receive the absolute best care for you! You always remain in my prayers. I hope you know that. I also have been in the hospital, Monday and Tuesday, of this week. I was swearing up and down something was going on with my heart. I was having a dull ache in my back where I have had pain with my prior heart attacks and massive heart burn. So, I drove myself to the ER. Thankfully, my heart checked out okay. I've been having a lot of issues with a medicine I have been taking and they think that is the culprit. Ugh! The medicine is killing me! ha ha ha You keep your head up high. Put your trust in God to take care of you! You are in my thoughts and prayers, my angel. Thanks for the update on the asteroid! I look forward to the day I have a new body with no illnesses, no sorrows. I hold God to giving meback my 20-year-old body with gorgeous flowing hair...maybe blonde this time and with blue eyes. lol Love you, Michael, my angel. You rest and take care of YOU! Let me know when you get home and doing better. :-D

| Friday, September 27, 2019 - 08:44 pm Here is my Infamous Little Red Rocking Chair Story. I've told this several times before, but for those of you who haven't heard...here it goes: It was during the fall in the early 1990s. At that time I was a ataff writer at The Tennessean newspaper in Nashville, TN, covering mid-state news. One of my news beats was an outlying county, which I would go and investigate and report the happenings of the day! I'll never forget these two days. My routine was to head into town, go to the sheriff's department, court offices, and talk to county officials, lawyers and judges to get the scoop of the day. This one day, I also had a city council meeting to cover that night at 7 PM, which had a big annexation dispute going on. After gathering information during the day, I drove to my Aunt's home nearby. She had a ranch-style home on 38 acres of land surrounded by wooded hills which overlooked the Cumberland River. After submitting my news to the newspaper with this now antiquated computer and modem, I left to go cover the night meeting. Following, I returned to my Aunt's home to type up the story to send. As I approached the driveway, my Aunt was sitting in her car at the end of the driveway. When she saw me, she pulled on in, and I pulled into the driveway behind her. I get out of the car. "What are you doing?" I asked. She replied, "You are going to think I am crazy. I've been doing some house work. I had a neighbor come by with her grandson. They left. Well as I went to answer the telephone when it rang, I happened to glance down into the den, and I noticed this little red rocking chair of Rachel's (her granddaughter) in the floor in the middle of the back door. I don't remember it being there!" The rocking chair normally was placed on the hearth of the fireplace about four feet away from the door. I asked her, "Do you think the little boy moved it?" She replied, "No, I would have noticed when they left, when I closed the door behind them." About 10 minutes later, my Aunt's boyfriend comes over and we check the house. and nothing seemed amiss. So we dismissed it. The next day. I follow my same routine. I spent the afternoon at my Aunt's home alone, writing. She came home after her work day, followed by her boyfriend. I was sitting on a bed in the back bedroom, typing. She and Rick yell at me from the other end of the house that they are going to the Tack store to get supplies for the horses. My Aunt asked if I would unload her dishwasher for her before I left. I told her I would. I wrapped up my work about 20 minutes later. I walk into the kitchen and set my work and computer down on the table. As I glanced down into the den, I had this chill go through my entire body. I was staring at the back door, and the little red rocking chair was aitting there, flush against the door. I'm pondering this for a few minutes and laugh it off that Rick and my Aunt were playing a joke on me. I unloaded the dishwasher. As I did so, I'm thinking...that chair is right up against the backdoor, the door opens inside the house, so there is no way they could have done that without a space between the chair and the door. I look at the other door in the house. It was chained, locked from the inside! At that moment, I grabbed my stuff and a steak knife, and ran out of the house. Jumped in my 1988 white convertible mustang and drove all the way to the Tack shop. I go in and find my Aunt and Rick and tell them their joke wasn't funny. They looked perplexed. I told them what happened. When I saw my Aunt get visibly upset, I knew. This was no joke. I never went back to that home again alone! Neither did my Aunt. She would wait in town until her boyfriend would join her and they'd drive home together, following behind. We never could explain what happened. It's never a good feeling thinking, You Are NOT Alone in the House! Nothing strange ever happened after that. Two years later though, the home burnt down, totally destroyed.....except, out of the burnt debris, was that little red rocking chair poking up, smoldering. (Not really, lol I just added this last part for dramatic effect. The rest is true though!) To this day, I still sleep with a small light on. :S (

| Wednesday, October 2, 2019 - 05:08 pm There is another haunted site in Tennessee. It is the old Tennessee State Prison. I drive by this place every day on my way to and from work. It looks old and creepy. The prison, built in 1889, closed its doors in 1992. The only thing left......dead men walking in a different manner of speaking. You may have seen this prison if you watched movies such as The Green Mile with Tom Hanks, Ernest Goes to Jail and The Last Castle. This institution was widely known for its prison breaks, riots, fires and inhumane conditions. It housed the assassin of Martin Luther King, Jr. This is the prison that Johnny Cash played for inmates in 1968. It is also the place that more than 100 prisoners were executed using "Old Sparky" (the state electric chair). There are several ghosts that haunt this old prison. All those who lost their lives by "Old Sparky" have been reported to roam the halls. Visitors have reported moans, voices, and footsteps. Perhaps if you are in Nashville, TN, you should go see this place! That is, if you dare....

| Wednesday, October 2, 2019 - 05:46 pm So, there's this story in the country I'm from, Pakistan. Deep in the country, among villages is a road that no one travels on. Infact, even contract buses avoid them, despite the fact that they would save a ton of money just including that road in their routes. The story goes that during some really hard times a few decades ago, parents of two children, a girl and a younger boy, decided that they simply could not afford to live with children anymore, so they dropped the kids off in the middle of the road and just left them to die. No one knows what happened to the kids anymore, but the villagers in the region often tell stories of seeing two children in torn up clothes just standing on the middle of the road, staring at the cars passing by. That unnamed road has an incredibly high accident rate compared to the rest of the region, so people believe that the kids in the middle of the road startle the drivers, and cause them to go offroad and stuff. I still have never been on that road, and I don't know if I ever will.

I will have to tell you a story.... My cousin and his wife and small children lived in Germany while my cousin was stationed in the Army at one of our sites over there. Well, my cousin's wife, during Halloween, hung witches and ghosts and such on the front door of their apartment. | Tuesday, October 22, 2019 - 08:20 pm Actually all the decorations are those that I have collected over the years. I've thrown Halloween parties almost every year for the last 30 years! Most decorations are store bought and some handmade. lol You can't see the orange lights, but I have those all in the fall foliage around the window. This room stays open and bright all day/night. I still need to hang spider webs and spiders. My theme is Creepy Spiders this year! lol I still have more to do. I always decorate the conference room, where I can use strobe lights and purple lights to create a spooky effect. We usually put the food like on a long banquet table. I can't do that until day of party, because we have business meetings in there. I'll take more pics when all done! I just wanted to put you in the mood! :-D Thank you, my lord! Yes, I work in a nice building. I call the whole complex, the Concrete Jungle. lol

| Monday, November 4, 2019 - 04:20 pm Dear Angel, I'm so happy you are taking steps to work on your health. I KNOW it is very, very challenging and can be quite discouraging at times. You take things one day at a time. You start small, and you build up. I'm 54-years-old. I commonly tell people, I started feeling old at age 45 with my first heart attack. lol As of last Christmas, I have had a total of 4. Bad life habits are very hard to break. For me, smoking has been my biggest challenge, even after having to have had my chest cracked open and a triple bypass surgery 7 years ago. I persevered, and finally broke the habit. Eating healthy and staying in motion is important for longevity in life. Now, a lot is genetic. I've found out that I have a genetic factor, known as Lipoprotein A, which makes me genetically disposed to heart attacks! Lucky ME!!! But, I take life a day at a time. I do what I can do during a given day. The one thing that I have learned through my experiences, is stress less and be happy! I am blessed with a lot of support of my husband, family and friends, and have one of the best medical teams in the world! They HAVE to keep me living. I work with them after all!!!! ha ha ha God has truly blessed me! This is why I take an interest in you, my Angel. I see your love of God, your kind heart, and know how challenging medical issues are. I pray for you every day. I'm so happy you are taking care of you and taking positive steps! Remember, I am here as an encourager and supporter of YOU! All my best, Jan
