The New war competition world Crimson One will open for registration tomorrow, July 17.

The first two weeks will be for registration only.
The world will not run.
You will be able to look around but nothing will change, the date will not move.

Crimson One will start running on August 1 and will run for three months.

More details will follow tomorrow and in the coming days.

I don't think this is what we expected. Most players will be eliminated sooner than later. That means Crimson One will be an expensive way to get a little war experience.

Also, it costs 100 gold coins to register a CEO. But even if a CEO ranks #1, all it wins is 94 gold coins.

And what about the so-called war world, Fearless Blue?

We did not intend Crimson One to be a place to learn about how to wage war.
It is a place to wage war and win if you know how.

Learning about war can be done on all other worlds and mainly on Fearless Blue.

When eliminated, you can start a new country but depending on the date within the 3 months period, you will start anew.

The gold coin wins are incorrect.
They should probably not be there at all.

The awards on Crimson One are the cash awards at the end of the 3 months period.

Andy,

can you tell if game parameters will be the same as in the other worlds? I mean profitability, cost of war and etc.

I think that some starting package like 10T cash would be nice from W3C.

Andy,

Has the GM considered allowing CEO's to be free on the new war world? If we cant use space to move assets or win GC for CEO's then why the charge?
I would think you would want CEO's to encourage growth. I'd be happy to create a CEO for the interest of helping to stabilize the economy.

Crimson One is created with very few corporations.
However, once running, many new corporations will be created quickly in C3 countries.

Parameters are the same.
the difference is in the cash awards that will be paid to winners.

Crimson 1 sounds great!

However,

sorry to hijack the thread. many long term players here so Ill ask.

If at WL 15, please tell me you can continue to declare on C3's forever at WL 15.

There seems to no longer be a "declare war" button once the 15th war level has been achieved?

I have to be missing something, correct?

Tell me Im missing something, please.

If we cant really fight players, and now cant fight C3's.

Feels like.."congratulations, now get lost."

Not intended for this subject here but:

We will add more levels.
I will try to add 2 or 3 to keep you busy.

I will also have it checked.
If you reach the highest level, and there always will be one,
you should be able to continue fighting against C3 countries at that level.

Any updates about this?

There are some unclear terms that are making me hesitant to sign up right now:

###
"To register a country or enterprise in this tournament you need to pay 100.00 GC registration fee. Please buy Gold Coins before you register a country or enterprise." (You get this when you try to sign up a country on Crimson One)
###

I have no problems with it being a pay-to-play tournament but it's not very well signposted and there doesn't seem to be a way to purchase exactly 100 GC for money, either by buying GC directly or by buying membership and getting bonus GC.

Leading on from this, it seems that as a free member, you can only capture one country .. does this hold true for Crimson One?

If so, there's going to be no chance for a free member to compete if they can't even build a buffer ring of C3 slaves around their main. (Also makes it look like a better option to get a 9 month membership with GC bonus, again I'm not against this but it's not very clear.)

###
"If you're defeated in war you're out of the competition."
###

What does this actually mean? If I capture a C3 and someone captures it from me, it's game over? For an entry fee of 100 GC,

why is there an 'out of the competition' route anyway? It's going to suck to be out after your first war, that could be just a couple of days into the tournament, right?

###
After three months, the winners will be awarded and the world will cease to exist.
###

How will the winner(s) be decided? If it's by the normal game mechanics, then building schools and roads and stuff could be a better option than battling!

Madoff talks about registering a CEO .. if it's a tournament war world, is/should it even be possible to register a CEO there? (i.e. if things are going to boil down to whoever spends the most GC wins, then it's not going to be very exciting.)

Trout (former player, could come back for interesting gameplay)

OK, not enough info has been given for me to dive in to this first prize-fight. Good luck to everyone who's playing it!

9 days in and no (non-c3) wars yet.

Are Andy and RoboCop attackable on Crimson One? Are they in the running for the prizes? i.e. if there are two normal players and player 1 beats player 2, then the final warlord ranking (if that's what's being used) will be player 1 > Andy = RoboCop > player 2 ... so does player 2 get second prize or no prize?

What happens if everyone is tied on zero points at the end?

Tournament over.

I'm claiming the win on the basis I was the only one who worked out how to turn a profit on that world :D

Of course I'm not expecting the USD prize, but hopefully the GC refund is on its way.

There will have to be some significant changes in the set up of the world to get me to play again, if the tourny world starts another round. Not least that the server ticks shouldn't be stopped in the middle of me trying to invade the C3 next to Mindz's main country!!!!

We will look into it in the coming days and will of course refund the gold coins.
I am sorry about this but it seems, real war is not a major issue here.
at least we now know.

Thanks for the effort with Crimson One. It was an interesting experiment. Let's review why it didn't succeed.

1. Only a very few players asked for a temporary world. Players prefer the permanent worlds.

2. Obviously, 99.9% of players did not want to pay for Crimson One. Instead of fixing PvP on the permanent worlds, you wanted players to pay extra for PvP on a temporary world. Crimson One seemed like a scheme to increase the price of playing for war players. That was not a good deal.

3. Absolutely no player ever publicly suggested cash prizes as an incentive for PvP. Instead, players have repeatedly suggested other incentives, including gold coins, game cash, population, and especially natural resources. You've ignored those suggestions.

However, you keep implying that players don't want PvP at all. You've even claimed that players are scared of PvP. Those exaggerations are unhelpful.

Players have told you repeatedly for many years of problems that discourage PvP:
  • restrictive war levels,
  • clutter on the map,
  • extreme amounts of clicking,
  • poor incentives for PvP
Those problems need to be fixed on the permanent worlds.

We're grateful that you took a risk and tried a new approach to PvP. Now you can focus on making PvP great again on the permanent worlds.
