Hello, I am President of DanNation on LU.
I'm currently having an issue related to the automation of share purchases by my country (not the investment fund).
I recently took two of my State Corps Public, and began selling down my ownership to 24.75% in order to take advantage of the higher upgrade limit for Public Corps with a primary shareholder below 25% ownership.
The problem I am now facing, is that each game month, the system is issuing a buy order by my nation for 2% of the Corp's shares. So far I have been cancelling this order each game month, however sometimes I miss it, and my ownership level goes above 25%. Then I have to sell the shares to return to below 25%.
The Corps in question are, "DanNation First Defence Maint" and "DanNation Second Defence Maint" both located in "DanNation" on LU.
I have disabled all of my automation settings, such as "Buy and Sell shares for your investment fund automatically." And "Beginners and general economic protection" however the share buy orders keep being issued every month, without my input.
My theory is that because I sold down my ownership % very quickly, and the PE is Below 30, that the Automation is trying to repurchase shares to raise my PE to normal levels.
If anyone has any suggestions on how I can fix this issue, please post below, thank you for your assistance  |

I was reading through the Forums, and found an old post about Portfolio targets. This was the setting that was causing my problem.
For anyone having the same problem:
Click on "Shares" on the left side of the screen.
Then click "country portfolio targets".
Change the % to the desired amount.
The Automation will now keep your ownership % to that level.
This is a handy feature. Thanks GM's, you've truly made a deep and detailed game with SimCountry, I'm having a lot of fun learning all about it :D |
