Andy | Friday, September 29, 2017 - 07:33 pm We have started to reduce the number of fortifications in countries that have more than 150. the reductions are small and the number of countries involved is small too. They have all got compensated and in several cases were overpaid. (good for them). in two cases, we have removed 500 and 1000 fortifications. Small numbers will go for ever in these two countries. In the mean time, fortifications have become stronger. and will become even stronger again, in the next upgrade. It is of course possible to create large garrisons at all these locations. We will continue the reductions and also check the numbers of military bases. |
Aries | Saturday, September 30, 2017 - 12:41 am Good change. We have any thoughts on the handful of unconquerable countries out there, because you just can't paint their map? Ah, look at that. Gaz registered the country again. He picked it solely because it cannot be conquered by your rules. Here is your example: The Grand State of Helena on FB https://sim02.simcountry.com/cgi-bin/cgi2nova?SN_ADDRESS=wwwCountry&SN_METHOD=countryhome&miRegionNumber=34&miCountryNumber=2619 That particular country was tested in war. Every square inch of it was occupied and it was not even possible to get the minimum number of conquered territory to end the war, much less the maximum painted score that is possible. |
Andy | Saturday, September 30, 2017 - 11:18 am We have several such countries. if we see one vacated, we take it out of the game. we did it with some and some remain. consider it war protected for free. we also have some more countries with fortification >150. this will be resolved in several more updates.

Lord Mndz | Saturday, September 30, 2017 - 01:59 pm You could change meaning of fortification from target to a weapon which could be assigned to some target and remove them from targets list completely. Such weapon when assigned to some target would increase efficiency of defense of it, also meaning less casualties of people. Like in real world fortifications are being used to protect weapons inside and make it harder to damage. Such assignment would be permanent as you could not assign them again. Players would protect their most important targets like capital and factories in such way and attacker would need to rethink this strategy depending on that. Not the forts should be defended but they should defend targets instead. who cares of some fort with a crew hiding far from action. |
Aries | Saturday, September 30, 2017 - 04:01 pm The one I just linked was registered less than 2 month ago. War protected for free? Not exactly. I would rather you give it permanent temporary war protection. As is, these countries can be permanent bases for attacks with no risk of losing the base and the countries stored weapons and ammo. That is not acceptable. Last time this country was at war and was completely painted and every target was destroyed. I believe a player, Kel, emailed the gamemaster email address and was not able to receive assistance ending a war when this country was clearly defeated. |
