The_Wicked_Lady | Monday, August 14, 2017 - 04:48 pm Tell me what you think? You think the world needs to be worried or is the NK leader just blowing out hot air? I'd love to hear others' perspectives across America, the UK and even from the Netherlands............Andrew what are they saying there? |
SuperSoldierRCP | Monday, August 14, 2017 - 06:30 pm I have a BA in Political Science with my concentration on Economics and Foreign affairs. Among the Political scientist community its not really an issue. Political instability in the US is a much bigger threat. ---Things to consider--- North Korea is well aware they cannot take the US and South Korea, so North Korea is just doing what we call "Saber rattling" to make themselves look strong. Every time North Korea has made massive displays of force and tensions reach a high point, world powers often throw money and humanitarian aid to the Hermit Kingdom. This makes Kim Jong Un look strong to his people and often calms them down for a period of time. North Korea is suffering from a famine and more then 50% of its population is starving and malnourished. North Korea uses its military to "exploit" food and other resources which is why seem "erratic" in there military displays. Mainly its only done when they want food or support aid. If you really think war is imminent look at China's border policy. China stands the most to lose even if they dont go to war. Should there be war and WHEN the US and South Korea win, China knows there would me a migration of millions of refugees. The only way to stop this would be to have a massive military presence to stop them (Little known fact this is one of the main reasons they participated in the 1950 Korean war). If we start seeing massive buildup on military forces by China along the northern border then people would really start to reassess the situation. Another factor is that War tends to build up a presidents approval ratings (Not commenting on the current US president just stating a fact). Aggressive military action in the eyes of the american voter in most cases tends to increase approval ratings. (sorry for the errors, PC down so I'm using my new tablet. Trying to get a feel for it) |
The_Wicked_Lady | Monday, August 14, 2017 - 09:06 pm Thanks, Super. Hugs! I hope you are doing well. |
tajikee | Tuesday, August 15, 2017 - 01:55 am I think that North Korea is a nation that is on the verge of collapse, there are many sources within the country that are saying Kim's grip is failing and there will eventually be a coup. They know that they will not be able to survive a attack on the US or allies, and the missile test that they share on the news are only the few successful ones, not the other hundreds that are not. |
Sheepman RGB | Tuesday, August 15, 2017 - 02:32 am Hotel of doom. Started 30 years ago, still is not finished. I wonder what that could mean? |
Eric259 | Tuesday, August 15, 2017 - 04:09 pm Kim Jong Un is in big trouble now because he got poisoned by Uranium 213, this is rumor on internet. He disappeared for 30 days from public. South Korea agents reported back to its Govt that Kim is in serious health condition. |
Khome | Wednesday, August 16, 2017 - 06:56 am PLA soldiers ARE lining up by the North Korean border.. |
Nicholas II | Wednesday, August 16, 2017 - 01:12 pm PLA soldiers are there to prevent a huge migrant influx should North Korea's Kim Regime collapse all together. No military action against North Korea will be taken at all by the PLA or the Russian Armed Forces. Not so sure about any actions will be taken against USA or South Korea but plausible. Any huge migrant influx will be directed to South Korea part of the plan or a blockade preventing them from entering South Korea, Russia and China as this can present huge social issues in South Korea. North Korea should have a new leader taking charge from Kim Jong Un should anything go wrong most likely a military marshal. The North Korea military has readied themselves to take on the position of government completely. The cost of reunification will be enormously high, only the USA and certain liberals in the South will welcome the North. North Korea is still better off as a separate block. |
Letsie | Wednesday, August 16, 2017 - 01:45 pm Something to think about. Most people who live in the west think the Kim dynasty is nothing more then a bunch of bruthish thughs who rule their country like idiots. Most people in the west think that the regime will collaps. Most people in the west have been thinking and saying those thnigs for decades. N-Korea has been receiving financial aid from china every year. The amount that they receive has increased by a lot over the years. Sure every now and then China 'punishes' them and slaps on a tarif here and an embargo there. But as long as it's in china's best interest to keep N-Korea an independant state it will stay an independant state. The Kim family may be removed but the North will survive. The 'democratic alliance' of Japan, the south and the white man may try to invade them. But they know that they can always call upon the PLA to have their back. The only thing that they souldn't (and won't) do is launching a nuclear strike first. They know that if they do that the PLA will drop them like brick and probably drop some bricks on them just because they can. If you really want to know how 'dangerous' N-Korea is talk with some people from S-Korea. They litterally live next to them and they are not that worried about a nuclear strike because they know how the north does buisness. When you live half way across the globe, have a carrot for president and a media machine that loves to hype things up you've got a recipe for disaster. |
Khome | Wednesday, August 16, 2017 - 06:13 pm Good point |
Madoff | Wednesday, August 16, 2017 - 10:57 pm Kim Jong Un wants to kill me. In 2013 North Korea published a photo of him meeting with his generals. On a wall is a map showing missile trajectories to the U.S., which implies a nuclear strike plan. That map clearly shows three American locations as targets. I live in one of the 3 targets. Ironically, I moved there from another of the 3 targets. Freakish. It's surreal to be a nuclear target. It adds to my suspicion that the world is still primitive and wicked. |
Letsie | Thursday, August 17, 2017 - 01:49 am Dude! At least he wants to NUKE!!! you. Over here where I live the worst thing that somebody might do is fart to loudly. |
