Aries | Friday, August 4, 2017 - 10:42 pm I hope the title gets attention. I am creating this thread because I don't want my motivations for improving the game questioned. I have offered many suggestions in the last few years which, I believe, are for the betterment of the game. In my opinion, implementation of features that improve the war game, in particular, in the areas of intuitiveness (this means that it makes sense in a practical way), simplicity, an easier learning curve, and encourage player interaction and cooperation will revive the game in a substantial way, which has always been my goal. Improvements in these areas make it far easier to entice and retain new players into the war game. I am proud of the assets I have been able to accumulate through a combination of effort and skill, but without a fun environment and active community of players to interact with, it all seems hollow. I do quite well in single player strategy games of a grand scale, also, but the Simcountry promise of an ongoing simulation in an online community makes it more rewarding than finishing and starting a new game. For those that don't know, my assets are considerable. The most in the game, by far. I am tempted to list some highlights, but that isn't important. If I did so, it would remind me of a situation that was not too long ago in which another player boasted his assets, but he had accumulated them in an unscrupulous way. I have always been an honest online player, well, honest in any game, really. I take no pride in what I can "get away with". More than once I reported to the GM in this game methods of collecting assets that were just too easy and other times I experienced a bug and reported how I came about it and exactly where the GM could find the resulting assets from it. Other players in this game know me more personally. I shared my very difficult experience some years ago on this same forum. At that time, I found myself diagnosed with a serious illness, at a young age, and my life has still not been the same since. I spent a lot of time in the hospital at the end of 2014 and very nearly ended my account here at that time, as I had to re-evaluate what I could still do. With one day to go in my Premium Subscription, and surrounded by numerous other financial matters at the time, I made the decision to continue playing and many a nurse would have to come find me in the "family waiting area", or whatever it was called, where, during treatment, I would be playing Simcountry on one of the wifi connected computers offered there. I struggle with health and financial issues along with challenges to understand my very identity these days. A few times, I have cashed in my coins just to generate the funds I would need later to retain my premium account. If I were properly motivated to play more actively, I could likely get my account in the proper shape to make a number of withdraws every year. Being familiar with the game withdraw rules, which are quite stringent, I calculate it is possible to complete 5 withdraws a year, worth $125.00 in Paypal payments. With yearly premium membership coming to some $48.00, it is possible to retain premium membership and net $77, minus Paypal fees, a year. My account is quite capable of absorbing these withdraws while still retaining enough assets to be the game's most powerful far into the future. That said, if it would make my suggestions any more credible, take my account. It is obvious nothing I have suggested could make up for what I am now offering. In my view, nothing I am suggested really would make any difference in enriching my current account anyway, but I will not care to make that case anymore. If anyone questions my motives or if the gamemaster himself believes my efforts are self-serving my account is now on the chopping block. It is possible I would make the move unilaterally. My honor is more important to me than any online account. Even one that I have grown with these last 5 years. |
The_Wicked_Lady | Monday, August 7, 2017 - 04:33 pm Aries, you are by far one of the most respected players in this game, and I believe by far the best player I have ever seen. You have my utmost respect as a player and as a friend. I think you are remarkable both in game and out of game. You are rare, indeed, as a lot of people don't seem to have much honor or kindness these days. You know you remain in my prayers |
