Monday, November 9, 2015 - 07:59 pm  Just accepted an award, got assessed a score penalty, and want to know how your empire is really doing? Have an intergalactic empire and want to know how your holdings compare with other top players? These are the ideas behind my Player Power Rankings idea, found here: https://www.simcountry.com/discus/messages/8/24236.html?1446589956 With these rankings, you won't have to wait months to compete for the game-mandated top score. You can keep tabs on your progress every month. I have gathered the data on many players. Mainly very active and top players are featured in my first list. Players are evaluated on Military Power (MP), Space Power (SP), Wealth Power (WP), and Finance Power (FP). These scores are totaled and the player is given a Total Power Level (TPL). Data is gathered from all player assets throughout all of the game's five worlds. Here is my first list. Enjoy! | Monday, November 9, 2015 - 08:31 pm I think a better order should be proposed. For example, players with multi world empires should have their own category entirely. Putting myself up there with 2 countries (1 as a slave which needs a lot of work), alongside yourself, smokes, josias etc etc just seems, demoralizing. May be better off to have categories for:- Multi world players as one category then break up the rest into FB - KB - WG - GR - LU Just my 2 cents.

| Tuesday, November 10, 2015 - 01:28 am I appreciate the time it took to gather the info. I think sp is an important asset in the ranking, because the stronger the sp the faster response to a threat anywhere. It quantifies how capable a player is to project their military power.

| Tuesday, November 10, 2015 - 02:06 pm Sunnyknight: Subdividing the lists into world and multi-world lists could be interesting. Dividing my list into 6 different categories would leave just several players per list. If you are interested in putting together one or more lists, you are welcome to it. Zen: I agree with Smokes in the original intention of looking at access to shuttles. Just as diminishing returns in the utility of owning more shuttles is practiced by capping the space metric to 4 levels, one could imagine crushing diminishing returns in owning more military assets without having access to shuttles to deploy them. In this way, the space metric is sort of an extension to military power. In reviewing the list, I have some other ideas about sub-lists. First, I think the list highlights players that prioritize war readiness or ones that focus more on economy and finance. Comparing military power with wealth and finance power shows this. I like that the rankings reward players either way. | Wednesday, November 2, 2016 - 06:00 am I have thought of ways to improve this but wonder of there is any appetite for it. However, for player to which this data seems foreign, be sure that this is the type of data that top players consider when choosing their allies and choosing their battles. For the heck of it, I calculated my stuff one year later. It isn't easy to raise levels as you get higher but mine are up slightly. Aries as of 11-19-2015 MP 11 SP 4 WP 10 FP 9 TPL 34 Aries as of 11-02-2016 MP 11 SP 4 WP 11 FP 10 TPL 36 My analysis is that my military rating is unchanged though that can be a bit deceiving. Remember that each rank is essentially double the previous. I am only 5% short of rank 12 and would guess my military is some 50-60% larger than a year ago. On the other measurements, my wealth ranking is up 1, which means my cash on hand essentially doubled from a year ago. Financial ranking similarly is up 1, meaning my monthly country income is about double. Rankings Summary: Military Assets>2560T Cash>5120T Country Income>2560B If anyone else is interested, it is possible to check your own ranking by following the instructions on my Player Power Rankings suggestion.

Previously, Aries had this for me: Zentrino MP 6 SP 3 WP 2 FP 5 TPL 16 I went through and calculated mine now as this: MP: 8 SP: 4 WP: 1 FP: 5 TPL: 18 Up 2 military and 1 space. Same on finance and down one on wealth--because military is expensive

This time I'm going to keep on going and reach for the stars :D I'm not yet capable of figuring out every detail myself but I like this rating system a lot.
