Dubhthaigh | Sunday, July 19, 2015 - 05:34 pm Haha, unfortunately for said rumour I have always confined my crossdressing exploits to murky Dublin bars on Friday nights.... In all seriousness though can we avoid hijacking this thread from its purpose and scaring off new players? |

Orbiter | Saturday, August 15, 2015 - 07:41 am i work in a foundry, i'm involved in the process of pouring liquid metal into molds. what i do, is mostly the end part, of blasting them with sand, grinding them smooth, and welding to fill in holes, but i spend about half of my time in the pouring process, reaching into a 2000 degree oven with a big fork, to pull out heavy red hot molds, or taking these molds off the fork, with really thick gloves, and setting them in sand, my next step up, would be to actually pour the metal, which will be soon i now live in Wisconsin, i moved 2300 miles from cali, to do this. i love it, but i spend all my off time, just recovering enough, to do it again both of my boys are Autistic, and require allot of attention. California, is good at diagnosing autism, but Wisconsin has a much better special needs education. i started playing simcountry, when my youngest boy was still in the belly, he is turning 8 in january. |

Samael Solemn Thresher | Tuesday, August 18, 2015 - 11:57 am I am a pharmaceutical industry company executive. I'm the guy everyone talks about who puts mercury in vaccinations and fluride in your water. We regularly put dangerous biological agents in children's vaccines. You know, last month I had a dozen doctors disappear from my register because they discovered a natural remedy to cure cancer with water as the main ingredient. It's a living. |
Orbiter | Tuesday, August 18, 2015 - 01:53 pm that sounds like an attempt at irony, but you should be careful, my dad died from a flu shot. |
Dubhthaigh | Tuesday, August 18, 2015 - 10:03 pm I'm sorry to hear about your father, Orbiter x That's very interesting Samael. This may be out of line, and I shall not take offence if you do not wish to share, but may I ask what line of pharmaceuticals you are in and how many people you employ? I work for an investment company which specialises in sourcing Chinese investment. Feel free to PM Edit: Obviously if it's in the order of GlaxoSmithKline etc then i'm barking up the wrong tree (a giant redwood to boot!) |
The_Wicked_Lady | Wednesday, August 19, 2015 - 04:14 pm Yeah, I remember you telling us that. Some people don't believe in taking them. I have to because I am diabetic. I guess you have to weigh your options. Loves ya, Orbiter, I hope you are doing well and lovin' your new home and job! |
Orbiter | Wednesday, August 19, 2015 - 11:46 pm yea, jan, vaccines should be a choice, not a mandate. i'm not against vaccines, in general, just not for myself, and my family. the job is going well, and over all, Wisconsin is a better place to live than California. Only thing better about Cali, is the weather. |
tajikee | Tuesday, August 25, 2015 - 07:54 am I think that its so cool that people from all walks of life play this, I think a lot of people have the common misconception that only 16 year old pimply faced nerds play games, that is so wrong and I'm glad to be playing with all of you! discordiaink | Monday, October 12, 2015 - 10:18 am My name's Josh, but I go by Remi (middle name is Remington, and Remi sounded so much cooler in middle school, so it kind of stuck. I call the armpit of the U.S. home, South Jersey. Th is next part gets long, just a fair warning. But it is an interesting story. I went to West Virginia Uni and received a BA in graphic design, currently going back for my MA in computer science. I run a small web design/hosting company from my house and moonlight as a tattoo artist at a local shop on the weekends, but most of that is on the side. Mainly I was a set up mechanic on glass cutting machines since I was 16, and I was damn good at my job. >>BEGIN RANT When I was 25 I was diagnosed with a stage 4-a squamous cell carcinoma in the oral portion of my tongue. That's a cancer. I had a radial dissection of my neck, which is pretty much a slit across the length of my throat. they removed 60+ lymph nodes. They also split my jaw open, removed 80% of my tongue ( called a hemiglossoma ) and pulled a large amount of skin and tissue from my eight forearm to repair and close up the removed area in my mouth. Unfortunately, that tissue failed, had to be removed, and instead they severed a large chunk of my pectoral muscle and and pulled it up through my body to the floor of my mouth to reconstruct it. All in all I had 7 surgeries, spent 15 days in a forced coma, and another 7 days in ICU psychosis. I lost it, ripping out tubes and flashing my nurses daily, flipping off security cameras, insisting that certain doctors where Lisa's people trying to kill me. I have sone CRAZY memories fron that period of time that have absolutely no relation to what happened in the real world, but they feel completely real. At one point a doctor came in to ask me what my pain level was from a scale of one to ten. I calmed replied "Tangerine." And began explaining the details of the Voyager Space Probe program in depth. (I'm a space nerd .) It was an experience I wouldn't recommend. But the-point being, after a hellish bout of radiation, I kicked cancers ass. So while I feel slightly bad reading about all you users careers and know your working hard and contributing, while I'm on disability, I am currently in the process of starting a non profit dedicated to cancer research, specifically the target cancers in the young adult demographic, like mine. So excuse the plug, but if anyone is interested in checking out the foundation just private message me for the website abd information. <<<END RANT. Sorry about al that. But that's what I've been up to, haha. I was an active member here years ago, but that name abd country is long long gone. But I've some spare time now, so I figured I'd devote some time to learning to play well what I only barely grasped years back. |
tajikee | Tuesday, October 13, 2015 - 12:08 am Welcome to the game discordiaink, and thanks for the background, if you need anything let me know, Im still learning this game but willing to help just let me know. |
Lola | Tuesday, October 13, 2015 - 08:30 pm South Jersey too, squamous too. Lots of sun I guess. Not as bad as you but the C-word is always scary. Neat resume. Why don't you post your non-profits URL here on next post? Any publicity is good publicity! Good luck. |
discordiaink | Wednesday, October 14, 2015 - 05:57 pm Thanks for the encouragement! Every little bit of positivity, prayers, Well wishes, positive vibes, or good juju helps. As a matter of fact, today I go for my first post-surgery, post-radiation and chemo PET CT Scan. For those of you who are lucky enough to not know what exactly that means, well, a PET CT Scan is a Positron Emission Tomography scan at the same time as a CT Scan (Computerized Axial Tomography). What that does is give doctors both a detailed image of the bodies internal structure, and allows them to image metabolic activity. They attach a radioactive tracker to a form of glucose (sugar) and inject you with it. When the bodies cells take up the sugar-like molecule, they also take up the radioactive tracker. This causes the areas of high metabolic activity to "light up" on the images. Normally, these high metabolic (gas guzzler) areas are limited to the brain, the heart, and a few other small organs and systems, but most cancers cause their mutated cells to behave in the same way, taking up much more energy than normal cells of the type. This has the effect of allowing oncologists to pin point trouble areas, or hot spots-areas of likely cancerous tissue. This is my first scan since the downright hell that is treatment, and Thursday I have an appointment with my oncologist where basically I find out if the cancer is gone, in remission, or growing again. Needless to say, I've spent the last two weeks slowly loosing my mind while awaiting my doom. Haha. But just a few more days, and atleast I will know, and I can either celebrate or stand up, ring that bell, and start fighting round two. So, needless to say, I will happily take all the positive energy you can direct my way. So now that I've had yet another rant and bored the majority of you, im sure, let's change the topic... to another rant! Haha. Right now the foundation I'm currently working towards is in the process of pointing its name servers to a new host. Web hosting can get expensive, so the webpage will be down for a few days during the transition. But there is a gofundme set up by my parents to help me with medical bills, cost of treatments, medications, home health aids, and the various other insane expenses that come along with fighting advanced stage cancer. Www.gofundme.com/hopeforjosh I don't expect anyone to donate money- don't get me wrong, donations have been a huge part of the reason I've been able to afford to fight this war against such a heinous disease, and every little bit helps far more than anyone could realize, be it a single dollar or a hundred, but I know personally that to many people a few dollars is all that stands between them and feeding their children, or paying the mortgage. So I'm not soliciting donations, but asking you to take the time to visit my gofundme, read my story from beggining to present. I don't ask for money, but I do ask that if at all possible, you read my story, you share the link. Take to social media, post the link, and ask your friends and loved ones to take the time to read my story as well, and, in turn, share it with their friends and family. Because awareness is the name of the game. Www.gofundme.com/hopeforjosh I have been able to keep food on my table, my children clothed and happy, my bills paid and my mortgage only slightly behind, all because of the generosity of complete strangers, all because a small group of amazing people have given a few dollars when they could afford it, to a complete stranger. Not for recognition, or tax breaks, or to impress someone, but because of the love and compassion they have in their hearts for a complete stranger, but a fellow human being. There's no denying that I've been through hell, a horrible disfiguring illness with no guarentee of recovery, but I can honestly say that I consider myself to be an incredibly lucky person. Through this ordeal, I have seen some of the very best in people. I've been the recipient of gifts far greater than money- a personal, first hand experience of the awesome power of good in people, of love and of compassion. Again, I can't ask you to donate your hard earned money, but I do ask that you share my story. I'm using this as a platform to spread awareness for my charity, and that cancer isn't only a disease of the very young, women, or the elderly. This disease doesn't discriminate, it can strike anyone- from a kid in preschool, to the elderly, male and female, humans of every race, religion, creed, shape and size. From the incredibly wealthy to the completely destitute. But, unfortunately, most foundations, charities, and programs for assistance are set up to help those effected by particular "popular cancers", childhood lymphomas, breast cancers and the like, while also being directed towards certain demographics, such as young children and work related cancers, as well as the more "marketable" age groups, while myself, a 27 year old, otherwise healthy young adult male is left to foot a seven-figure debt while still trying to support a family, dispute not being considered eligible for most grants and assistance. So that's why I'm starting this charity. To educate, to advocate, and hopefully to eventually provide assistance to individuals and families who find themselves in the situation I'm currently in. So now I ask for your assistance. Spread the word as you can, and if you know anyone suffering from this disease, in any of its forms, give them the support they need. Again, sorry for the rant. When I start rambling, its tough to stop me, haha. In other news, I'm beggining to lose my beginners income boost, and while I've made some headroads securing alternative income, I'm running real low on cash. If anyone has any tips or aid available, shoot me a message. The country is the social union of Kikeroke. Thanks all. |
