Well I'm dismayed to see that the one "feature" that always makes me quit, still hasn't been fixed after like 10 years. Really W3C.... I can manage my labor pool without you meddling in it.

For those who wonder what I'm pissed about. W3C has this "feature" they introduced a millenia ago, where if they think your running out of workers (ie is the number of workers drops below a certain number), they automagically demote a bunch of trained workers to workers. And they do it in such a way as to screw you as hard as possible, and I assume their motivation is to force you to buy population off the direct market to avoid the endless cycling of meddling. And it happens regardless of whether there is an actual shortage. So despite the fact that I have enough of each worker to run my corporations, and have 99% employment, W3c is constantly demoting my high tech workers down to workers because I don't have as many unemployed workers as they would like.

The only workaround is to always have a bunch of workere unemployed, instead of having good unemployment and one more corp.

W3C: consider this a reminder that you need to fix this.

part of that, for a really long time, their was an endless string of complaints, about HLWs. their never was enough, their where players, such as myself, that could demote 50K workers to HLW every day, sometimes twice a day, just to tread water.

eventually, WC3 upped that to 100K, and did some automatic demotions, so that the main thing that big players big, wasn't just demote worker

I don't know exactly what specifically your talking about in terms HLW, but I don't see how there'd be a problem. Historically, They generally tended to be low but would show up once you needed them. We just ignored their low numbers and built anyway, they came when they were called. If anything, there's too many now, but at least they tend to go back when they are needed. I have some vague recollection about when the current state regarding HLW came into existence.

This problem that I refer to predates that. It was so long ago that they implemented this, that the games news announcement about it isn't even available anymore. At the time it seems like there was something going on that it fixed, but the fix was basically a kludge that should have been smoothed out by now.

I'm going to describe the phenomenon for posterity in order to let people know they aren't crazy, when it happens. I'm doing this because you won't know why it's happening, because the game news entry that would tell you about this is no longer available. I'm not 100% convinced that anybody at W3C remembers this was implemented.

You'll be going along with a strong education system. You just got your workforce distribution perfect so that you can employ almost every single person. You just built that last corp and your numbers of unemployed LLW, MLW, and HLW are lower than they ever have been. This is when you suddenly notice that despite your powerful education system, you suddenly cannot maintain your numbers on everything else, you'll taking losses on HTS and struggling to produce HTE, and no matter what, your HTEng will be in freefall. Forget training teachers and healthcare workers. Every other month your numbers of unemployed llw, mlw, and hlw will shoot up inexplicably, and then decline, in an endless cycle. The only workaround is to always have a bunch of unemployed workers.

A solution meant to patch the global economy due to glitch in C3 mananagement over 100 game years ago is still haunting us.

hymy, i don't have a problem with HTE, only HLW, because i know how to balance my work force, and the only problems i have, is because i to greedily build certain corps, which over draw HLW

the game has a balance, before you ridicule, you might want to spend some time relearning the game

the question i'd have to ask, is what size is your country(ies)? i've got a 95M country, that i've housed 12 Shuttle corps in, for over a year, had all 12 happily in the country at 40M, but even though a 20M country can easily hold over 20 corps, it wouldn't be able to hold 12 shuttle corps, it would constant have problems with HTS, and probably HTE

but those kind of corps absorb allot, the shuttle industry is more so than other types of corps, but theirs no real country in the world that can exsist with out some level of agriculture, and "low brow," jobs.

as you said, when you build your last corp, that last corp that you can fit in your country, then they buy their efficiency upgrades, they will use more HTE, and HTS, naturally, and increase demand of professionals, beyond what you had available, the trick is to make them fit, with your education system, with out over training the worker catagories,

this whole process become easier, the larger the country, not just more corps, but the education system is able to spread the work force around, in a larger country.

but then the larger the country, you gain other problems, the actual work force becomes a smaller percent of your pop, so your health, and social security systems take a beating, with out really providing as much benefit

so i guess what i'm saying, is that the problem isn't really a game problem, but a problem with what you build, countries with high EIs can and should handle allot of HT corps, thats the point of shoveling money into your education system, but if over do it, you'll end up with other problems

take a look, 95M #3 F-rank, #M-rank 36, i can do stuff, i understand the game, it takes most double or triple the pop to do that

i don't like bragging, but dude, the bottom line, i sell on space at 1/6 profit to support 3 ceos, i know this game, better that 99%, at this point you are only holding out based on personal pride
