We have many requests for additions to Simcountry that will allow players to add information about their countries about many areas that are currently not covered by the game functionality
.
Examples are many, and include government form, laws and the country's constitution, religious composition, ethnicity, geography, landmarks and many more issues.

We will add a new part to Simcountry that will allow players to upload such information into a structured information system and blog-like pages, including text and pictures of the country, its landmarks and historical sites.

In addition, we will create a function that will allow people, players and non players, to ask for citizenship of any country in any of the worlds and allow the president to accept such citizens into the country.

Citizens will be able to contribute to the country information system, help in writing about its history, its laws, its educational principles etc.

A group of people could setup their own virtual country and become members of an entity that will have, for them, a function in their everyday life.

If such a concept will prove to be interesting for many, it will be developed further, with the possibility to give citizens functions in the running of the country, voting within the country on any laws and regulations and allow them to contribute to the development of the country, its economy, or the army, and even support an expansionist drive to become a major empire.

Would this only apply to an empire's main or would slave countries have the same features?

Also I assume the citizens who can vote only have the ability to do so in a democracy.

Call the first shared country "Congress" and make all the antagonistic personalities coexist and run the country together.

Now that would be fun.

Personally, all these suggestions sounds like non functional stuff like writing your own blog and such...

I take the nerve to suggest first to focus on functionalities that are still on backlog like those related to navy, making FB a TRUE war world, etc.

:)

I'm presuming that depending on which government type you have, depends on what kind of people will vote in your country. For example....

Democracy - elected politicians

Kingdom - Nobles and other aristocrats

Theocracy - Religious leaders

Dictatorship - Military generals

If this is so, this will make the game very interesting indeed. Especially if there were characters in the game as well to advise you on certain matters in your country.

Also if certain groups of people were only allowed to vote on laws on regulations, will this mean a new happiness level for your countries?

Overall if this comes, it will definitely be exiting.

Oh, and one more thing, when setting up your own ethnicity, religion, ideology etc.. will this also affect the overall happiness of a country when accepting these people? for example, will we get penalties like this depending on the number of these people we have in our countries?

Different ethnicities -??? happiness

Different religions -??? happiness

Different ideologies -??? happiness

Again if this so, it will certainly cause a great conflict of interest as this will add even more excitement to the game.

But I think this has been a long time coming though.

these ideas sound interesting, but i'm kinda mixed, if they have an actual effect, like with a countries consistution, would your citizen declare a war illegal, and cancel it? or over throw you?

the computer isn't going to automatically generate country history? unless its very generic, or a new form of record keeping.

citizen starting their own country? would that be another flavor to C3s? or what?

not to mention, religion, Civ added that, and gave all religions the same bonus, to avoid negative feed back, seems ok to me, but when you add different bonuses for different religions, and ethnicity, they'd have to be non-real, to avoid hurt feelings.

an improved migration system, kinda past due, you can't have a supper great country, right next to a poorly run country, with out waves of immigrants. So high welfare sim-countries, should experience high levels of both legal and illegal immigrants. this would have the bonus of high pop growth, with a heavy burden on all the countries nice indexes. could make it difficult to raise indexes past a certain point, with out being regionally involved. could add a flavor missing to Sim Country

not meant as an insult, but illegal immigration, should also effect crime, their really should be a crime index, countries should be able to build jails, police, and national security to effect crime rates.

high unemployment, poorly run neighbors, and even large militaries, (civilians who only know how to kill for a living,) even high birth rates, (unwanted children are proven to have a high chance of comminting crime,) should effect crime. and would open a country up to espionage. i've hoped for a crime index for a long time

Maybe allow us to paint the appearances on how our empire looks on the map. Instead of just a generic red shading, or pink shading we could choose to remove the lines (no not join countries, just the appearances on the map) and maybe superimpose part of our flag or emblem on it. Add some nice zest to the map. :) Makes our countries and empires look cooler from above.

Thanks for responding to the idea.
In its simplest form, the entire system will be a set of pages with text you can enter, pictures you can upload, county views, government members, and anything else you would like to enter.

There will be some connections to game functionality but not many.

Gradually, and with more participation by the players, we will add more connections between details on these pages and the way the country functions. Some of you already entered examples.
This can of course go very far and become very sophisticated.

Connecting pictures to locations, government type and voting, citizens and their functions or opinions, demographic and geographic content etc.

"moving" around the country, or through many countries in a vehicle and viewing locations and their associated pictures is not very complex to add.

Well I do hope it does become more complex, especially since I always like to play the "grand strategy" type games that have got functions like these.

Do the Other nations that you have but your capital be changed: Instead of them being a slave they can be Provinces with merged borders. Or what ever you want to call them.

Nedyah000 I agree I would prefer another name for my other countries. Slave is not a popular word I guess as they do what ever we tell them to do makes them a slave it makes sense. But my main does the same. Are we all slaves?

province or region or "vassal" (if your empire/state is monarchy based) is better than "slave"

you know I have always been bothered by that term also. I think that "state" "province" or "satellite" would make more sense. Maybe allow us to make the change from a list of options like how we can select what time of gov't type we use.
