Jay Booker | Saturday, May 17, 2014 - 06:41 am Show you support with the others in boycotting andy nation on LU to force him to be more active and improve the game. You can do this by going under trades and voting to boycott him. |
chrispy | Saturday, May 17, 2014 - 01:54 pm You don't really need to boycott Andy to "force him to be more active and improve the game" He already works to improve the game. If you, like me+probably many more think he and the other dev's are focusing on the wrong areas of the game, tell him in the suggestions and see if it gets traction from the community. I think he will listen to that more than this protest. On the activity front, do you mean active on the forums? or active in improving the game? (Both I suppose) either way again, the suggestions forum and voting. |
craigwilliamson79 | Saturday, May 17, 2014 - 09:55 pm Umm, yes...boycotting the people who run the game is not really helpful. Think about it... every time you make a purchase, sell an item, input a figure...all of that is being processed by the game. This stuff doesn't just go into a black box. It's real people who run it. If Andy's country is not really being maintained very actively, that effect on the total game is of no real significance. |
cl108 | Saturday, May 17, 2014 - 09:58 pm But Jay, I love Andy. I don't want to hurt his feelings. |
Jay Booker | Sunday, May 18, 2014 - 02:58 am lol i guess someone deleted my previous comment. but anyway. the stuff is managed by coding which i understand is admin work. however the guides are outdated several new gamers told me they dont understand how to play because of it. We have older members now leaving the game because of problems. The game is decreasing in membership and activity do to related issues. Eventually theres only going to be 100 people playing the game. and i remember when SC was always active. Also im not intending to hurt andy's feelings. but doing whatever i can to get him to improve the game in the right areas. My next step is dowing his nation has 54 trillion. his nation is doing great. |
scorpioshine | Monday, May 19, 2014 - 03:29 am well all this being said I hope hes working on the game, im not sure if you guys do but I spend money on the game I like it. its my kinda game. mostly on nukes lol but I ve heard they don't do the full potential of destruction in the game but yes from time to time I throw in 30 or so bucks just to show some appreciation on atleast maintaining the game ive been hearing a lot about old players leaving , not sure of the cause, and yes maybe they are cause of the bugs, ive seen some myself, and for the new players well a lot of people join thinking they going to be a 'world power' in a week..... yeahhhh no! don't think so this game is on going, takes awhile and if you don't know a clue about it prolly never gonna get it unless you ask someone,, also I think that when u get to the point of a stable country all there is to do is bring in money and wait for a cocky newbie to attack.... on KB maybe that's why they take a break its pretty peaceful there only 1 problem on kb and I don't think he lasted 24 hours befor members of unique fed and serpent put him in his place.... well he quit... but he started it. but yeah don't boycott just get his attention that theres people wanting to play |
Jackwagen | Monday, May 19, 2014 - 04:08 am SC Should have more people.... there are similar games however much worse then SC that have thousands of players though I'm not sure what would happen if there were thousands of SC players i feel like it would break the game..... we need to invade these sites and advertise all we can to attract new players ourselves since the Gm isn't going to do it |
craigwilliamson79 | Monday, May 19, 2014 - 06:06 am Regarding Nukes: They aren't the absolute end of a war if they are dropped (we couldn't make them so strong because they would be used to simply end things regardless of other military forces), but they do a lot of damage. A single nuke can destroy the capital city, result in hundreds of thousands of deaths and reduce the war index very significantly. It also leaves a major disaster after the war which is highly expensive to fix, continues damaging the population, affects bordering counties and really leaves a big mess. In a war a while back, I was hit by several nukes. It was what really did the most damage. |
Jackwagen | Monday, May 19, 2014 - 06:18 am yeah i lost a war because i got nuked about 5 times and then got painted when i wasn't paying attention |
Alterd Carbon | Monday, May 19, 2014 - 07:02 am Well as far as nukes you either love them or hate them as for myself I build them. Jay you sound like a good guy do you play on Fb? |
Presidium | Monday, May 19, 2014 - 08:00 pm Nukes dont do any of that that craigwilliamson described anymore. Nukes will only kill around 30-40,000 in a city population with 1 million. I used 5 nukes recently, on KB. And there was no disaster, no effect on bordering countries, hell there wasnt even a newspaper article for it, if it wasnt the final move people would have no idea.. And i noticed they reduce the index no faster than regular weapons. I believe the power of nukes has been seriously way to downplayed. I even made a previous forum post about it. |
craigwilliamson79 | Tuesday, May 20, 2014 - 05:22 am Well, it does of course depend upon which type of nuke. Tactical nuclear weapons for example, do not cause a disaster. But, not that long ago...maybe 6 months real time, I lost about a million in total. I was hit by several strategic bombers I think. But, my counter attack (in which I was able to hit with several nuclear sub missiles) did not cause a fallout. |
Presidium | Tuesday, May 20, 2014 - 05:32 pm I used one of each kind in my most recent exercise. Tactical, regular, sub, and strategic bomber. I did this solely to test that theory. And there was no fallout or disaster or anything except the initial causalities and damage from the strike. And my main countries are right next to the one i nuked. Its very disappointing. Seems like Nukes serve no purpose but as bragging rights and to intimidate players that dont know any better. |
ELCapitano | Tuesday, May 20, 2014 - 06:52 pm Nah, I'd prefer him to be fixing problems and improving the game than playing it. |
SirSmokesAlot | Wednesday, May 21, 2014 - 08:13 pm The quality of the nuke also matters. |
Alterd Carbon | Thursday, May 22, 2014 - 02:30 am Very true Smokes |
craigwilliamson79 | Thursday, May 22, 2014 - 05:51 am Indeed. |
Presidium | Thursday, May 22, 2014 - 12:59 pm What quality causes a disaster then? The nukes i used all had a Q over 270. |
craigwilliamson79 | Friday, May 23, 2014 - 06:06 am You must not be doing it right. All indications are that stategic bombers still cause a fallout. It could be that the target had nuclear missile batteries. |
Pale Rider | Friday, May 23, 2014 - 07:54 am i like your spirit Jay Booker. keep up the fine work. if you really want to know what happened to many of the vet players i can only say that the game transformed into something they didn't want. war players faced high cost of weapons and road blocks at each corner. econ players suffered major hits and were pretty much forced out. i can't blame them for an exit of the game. i do blame gamemaster for the stupid changes. my advise to gamemaster is open the game back up and allow us to have fun. drop war levels to 3 for protection and get rid of rest. also return coin trade like it was with the auction style. |
DownSouthBully | Friday, May 23, 2014 - 03:51 pm And ADD PINK TANKS!!!! Shoe and Handbag Corporations!!! Hint! Hint :P Now in defense of my adorable and brilliant adopted child, Andrew. He programs and develops the game as he is instructed to do. You can't blame HIM for changes you don't like. I am a strong advocate for Simcountry past, but we are in a new era of the game. The game is still a great one, and I believe the GMs are trying to make it fair and equitable for all players, whether new or long-time veteran players. As for veteran players leaving, they are STILL here in some shape or form. Also, Andy was in Sim Chat for many hours the other day, I'm glad I had him ALL to myself!!!! :P Support your game chat and forum! Speak up, be seen, be active. Yours truly! |
Presidium | Friday, May 23, 2014 - 03:56 pm I did everything right, the bombs hit and caused NO fallout. Once again during the war exercise i successfully used Tactical, regular, sub, and strategic bomb, and NONE caused fallout. Perhaps its cause Im on KB. |
DownSouthBully | Friday, May 23, 2014 - 06:49 pm Prezzy, forget nukes. Try shoes! I've brought down entire empires just with shoes!!! |
Alterd Carbon | Saturday, May 24, 2014 - 06:12 am Still sucking up to the boss shame full |
Supreme | Saturday, May 24, 2014 - 07:28 am Lol... |
Volvo | Saturday, May 24, 2014 - 09:37 pm Hello, Jan! Nice to see you around here. Please, this time throw me a container of boots...to sell! :P |
ELCapitano | Sunday, May 25, 2014 - 08:20 am "You can't blame HIM for changes you don't like." Simply untrue Jan. He is the official representation of their company to us the customers. And therefore takes ownership of the companies actions as a whole. "Also, Andy was in Sim Chat for many hours the other day, I'm glad I had him ALL to myself!!!! :P " I'm disappointed to hear this Jan and don't see it as a good thing. I mailed andy weeks ago about a problem posted in the forums, even posted in a forum that I know he was actively participating in to get a response to a problem. YET HAVE RECEIVED NO RESPONSE! Not even a reply saying we will look into it or anything. If he has time to be in the chat for hours on end, then he should have time show a bit of customer service and respond to customer inquires. Heck a couple of hours in chat is a couple of hours that could be spent fixing problems or adding new features. I simply do not pay money to this company so I can "chat" to people. I can do that on other sites for FREE!!! I pay money to this company to play a game and if there is an issue with their service they should address the issue. Not be to busy playing the game or chatting away with customers about non-business related issues. So in short I can and will blame Andy for what I believe are his own or his companies actions. |
Pale Rider | Tuesday, May 27, 2014 - 09:10 am well said EL Capitano. "ALL HALE EL CAPITANO" |
