Andy | Sunday, November 24, 2013 - 10:58 am The current defense index is computed by giving individual weapons a weight, and adding up per weapons group, all weapons in the country, in bases and in military units, producing the index. It is time to update the index to the current game and make it a more realistic measure of the country defense. The defense index should depend on the the countries military units and their real power in a potential war. for that we need to look at the number of units, land based, air and the navy and we need to see if they have the ammunition they need to fight. we also have to take quality into account. There are many aspects to the real power of an army, and it is possible to measure if it is capable of fighting to defend the country efiiciently, capable of auto defense but also the capability to fight back and destroy the attacker and it is possible to see if the army is built to be able to win a serous war. The change is substantial and cannot be implemented at once. we will start to add measuring features that will enable us to start a transition from the old way of measuring the defense index into the new one. Changes will be annouced ahead of time and will be small. There will be enough documentation to explain the new index and enough time to implement the changes to the army (if needed). |
Christos | Sunday, November 24, 2013 - 11:21 am I agree Andy. I always found it odd that quality has nothing to do with the index. A 600q Mobile Wing cannot weigh the same in the index as a 120q normal Wing, can it? |
Andy | Sunday, November 24, 2013 - 12:49 pm This is one aspect of many and it must be solved. |

Erin | Tuesday, November 26, 2013 - 09:21 am Sounds good .. But until the units in CEO's is involved I really don't see what it will do other than make the scores change some. What does a military ranking tell you when a player can shuttle in a couple 100k of units from a magic place if they are attacked? |
thewhy | Wednesday, November 27, 2013 - 02:32 am well its used for score….. if you have lots of defense your score goes up…. instead of people just buying a ton of MIBs to boost their score they actually need a decent layered defense |
