The new navy units will include new weapons.

Navy Interceptors - A defensive interceptor that will be stationed on aircraft carriers, along with navy fighters and support the navy defenses.

The navy interceptor will use navy air to air missiles and will be effective against many aircraft types that are capable of attacking the navy units.

The navy Interceptor will be introduced with the new navy units.

Submarines

Submarines (Offensive but not nuclear) will be added to the navy and will become part of some navy units.

The submarines will be introduces several weeks after the introduction of the new navy units.

IM TOTALLY ON BOARD WITH THESE NEW WEAPONS SYSTEMS
HELL YES!!!

It was discussed in the past and i would like to ask.

with Navies there is only Navy fighters which allow us to attack air-force units. And if we can only have 250 in a fleet that limits its ability to take out enemy air power.

It was discussed awhile back about adding navy offensive anti air. Is that still in the works?

With a limit of 250 fighter planes, I would hardly be able to make a dent in someone's air d. Therefore, I think this too could be a great addition to the navy.

--------

Aren't navy fighters different from regular FP? I'd like to see the stats on these, but can't look it up ATM.

Sounds like a fun update though.

Navy fighters unlike fighters can attack land based weapons ---BUT--- When trying to attack air units they are identical to normal fighter planes. My comment was that with the new navies only having 250 Navy fighters per fleet that means you only have 250 planes able to attack other air units. No other weapons in a navy are able to attack enemy interceptors, Helicopters, or air units. Meaning that its up to these 250 fighters to clear out enemy air forces. I'm suggesting that a second type of weapon be created or allowed to attack enemy air units.

Navy fighters and land-based fighters are not identical. Check interceptor accuracy against Fighters vs. Navy Fighters.

Can we try the update before we say they got it all wrong? Crazy right?

Yea,

Thats a crazy idea Aries. You should get checked out, I mean seriously.

So whats your gut feeling? Will navies become essential to raiding? Or will they be more purpose driven?

I can say that I already have made plans for this, and can't wait to implement the plans. Currently, all my friends live on the other side of the world. Maybe soon I can go join them :)

I'm sorry Aries

I forgot to consult your INFINITE wisdom

Fighter planes and navy fighter planes: hit rate: 15% and 12% damage: 100%

Navy fighter planes have a 3% less chance of getting hit.
130 inters firing 10 missiles a round means that...
130 inters can take out a 195 fighters
130 inters can take out 156 navy fighters

But wait...
Land based weapons get 400 planes per wing.(plus you can have mult wings)
Navy only get 250 per fleet. (having more planes means more fleets)

This topic aside.

This Thread was about asking for new ways to attack air units, Since only fighters are the only available choice we should seek variety.

That's much appreciated, Thanks Aries
I'm sure it would be great to hear a newbs wisdom. I mean i sure you've mastered the war levels, C3 warring, Economic model.

I forget how do you use stealth in battle, Whats the point of investment fund and how do i used them again, Its been awhile since i've used navies to take an empire remind me boats go in the water right?

Back to the original statement.

In regards to warring any land based weapons or garrisons one has several options.

You have fighters, helis, cruise missiles, guided missiles.

When attacking an enemy navy you have all of those plus destroyers and seals.

But the problem with enemy units is that the only weapon you have is fighters.
I would like to ask the GM is there plans to add Offensive naval anti air batteries/ships

The specifications of all the weapons are exactly defined in the weapons document.
Navy fighters are more powerful than other fighters and might be tuned up a bit.

We do not think that larger numbers are a good solution.
Larger numbers increase the cost while we are interested in reducing the cost of war.

It is clear that navies must be able to defend themselves but not become invincible. They must provide value for money which means that their cost must decline while their attack force should remain in balance with other units.

The number of soldiers and officers in the navy will decline too.
Changes in the manpower and cost will be done in several steps while we keep testing the fighting capabilities in various situations.

just because you decrease unit size doesnt mean the war game becomes cheaper it just means we have more units to manage for the same military size... or am i confused about something

Smaller units have reduced the cost of war.
It is true that you can then build more units but it did not happen on a large scale. (it did in some cases).
the number of destroyed weapons during an attack is smaller, using less ammo.

We did not see the number of war actions increasing.
Numbers declined for a very long time and the reduction in cost is tremendous, also the reduction of cost per weapon and pieces of ammo.
Unit sizes are probably OK now, the cost of the weapons and ammo will keep declining.
