Teddy Bear | Monday, October 21, 2013 - 10:25 am Hi Everyone, I logged on today because I got a message saying that one of my countries had expired. I log on, and find that I have 4 entities expired, but only have 72 gold coins left. Not a problem I thought to myself, I'll just sell some population from one of my large countries to give me enough gold coins until I win awards this month. "One or more Countries or Enterprises are expired. The cash market is not available when you have expired countries or enterprises. Please extend or remove expired countries and enterprises. " I am not allowed to sell my population or assets to enable me to continue playing. The only options the game gives me are:- a) Leave my Country & CEO expired in the hope that I may get an award next month which will allow me to play them again, during which time the game mechanics will shut down all the corporations in them. b) Pay yet more money to buy gold coins. Teddy |
XON Xyooj | Tuesday, October 22, 2013 - 05:16 am the only probable way to get GC is USD, because no more buying and selling with other players for GC. thus, your only probably way is option (b), because you probably will never get the next award via option (a) when the gm is shutting down your profitable corps which would likely get you to the next level for GC award.

XON Xyooj | Tuesday, October 22, 2013 - 05:18 am oh, if you got any empire/country or enterprise on fb, i can buy at 100GC? |
Teddy Bear | Tuesday, October 22, 2013 - 10:52 am That was the point I was trying to make XON, I am not allowed to sell any of my population or countries, because I have an expired one. I cant even sell anything from the one that isn't expired |
Laguna | Tuesday, October 22, 2013 - 04:37 pm In my eyes, this is an issue that needs to be addressed. |
Josias | Tuesday, October 22, 2013 - 04:47 pm and even then, you can't sell pop any more, or convert cash to GC, even if they weren't expired. you can only sell via direct trading, which means mostly shuttles.

The_Wicked_Lady | Tuesday, October 22, 2013 - 07:13 pm ANDREW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please do something!!!!! Teddy is a long time player. Dun wanna see him go! |
Andy | Tuesday, October 22, 2013 - 07:33 pm When you build an empire and you have several countries, there is a cost attached. you do not need all this. the game is for free if you want to play it small and not use real money. You just cannot eat the cake and have it. Make a choice: Either have empires and a large account and pay from time to time or Have a smaller empire, pay a little and you are OK with a couple of $ a month or play for free. |

Christos | Wednesday, October 23, 2013 - 11:51 am It would be a great shame if Teddy left the game. Too many good players are leaving the game it seems. Scarlett has left without even a word and Crafty has all but left as well (did I discover SC too late? perhaps I did...). But there's another point I wanted to make: I too read Teddy's initial post and it was quite different than the one appearing today in this thread. This is inexcusable. I can't understand the reasoning behind editing his post. There were no foul language, no game rule breaking, nothing. He just stated his problem in a very polite and logical way. I can't even imagine why that post had to be edited (or can I?)... Sad, sad, sad. |
Aaron Doolavay | Wednesday, October 23, 2013 - 02:44 pm @Christos. Yes you did discover this game too late. |
maclean | Wednesday, October 23, 2013 - 05:31 pm I see GM has deleted my post once again. |
Josias | Wednesday, October 23, 2013 - 07:17 pm yep mac, its easier to delete statements you don't like, than address the fact they've gone 2 far. its to bad that players can't play this game in the good faith, that the GM wont take offense to their success |
craigwilliamson79 | Wednesday, October 23, 2013 - 07:45 pm Ha, one of the reasons that I enjoy this game is that the game masters do seem to be aloof, dictator types. I get a kick out of it...not sure why. |
asurfaholic | Thursday, October 24, 2013 - 12:10 am Yea this game should MOAR free. Gimme gimme gimme. Age of entitlement is having some really sad results on people. Not trying to bash teddy, but I think Andy's post above is perfectly reasonable, and should go without saying. But... Age of entitlement and all. Now is really like to see a little more economic freedom in the game, THAT would be a change that excites me. |
Andy | Thursday, October 24, 2013 - 01:32 pm As much as we always appreciate constructive criticism that aims at improving Simcountry, we have never accepted messages that are aimed at damaging the game in any way. We will continue, to remove such messages and will also remove the players placing them, as we have done before. Using the forum is a privilege given to players who want to communicate in a civilized way and are constructive players of Simcountry. We will not warn anyone about any possible removal from the forum and will not reinstate access for a very long periods. In some cases, players have been removed from the forum never to return. |
The_Wicked_Lady | Thursday, October 24, 2013 - 04:31 pm Dear Everyone, I know that all us old timers mourn the days of old. Simcountry, like most games, will evolve over time. I still firmly believe that this game is by far one of the best online. Yes, I have grumbled, and I have moaned, and I have whined, and I have thrown shoes.... but the game still to this day offers challenge and fun, it is just different. No one likes change in real life or even in a game that they have loved for years. But as players, while we may have disgruntlements because we know the days of yore, there are new players playing this game for the first time. We cannot ruin the game for them or cast shadows upon Simcountry, the new game as it exists today. As a public relations person myself, I fully understand why Andy and the GMs edit the posts and make deletions. It isn't to undermine your ability to state your opinion, but if your opinions can wrongfully turn perceptions, you potentially could hurt their business. Look at it from their perspective. I am not totally defending Andy here, I've taken him to task myself, but purely out of love, you know. I love this game, want it to succeed and to offer many people the enjoyment that I have received playing it over the years. As for Teddy, I know how disappointing this is to him. As a community, perhaps we can come together to help him to stay in this game. I am happy to assist any way that I can. |
XON Xyooj | Thursday, October 24, 2013 - 09:40 pm well, i have offerred to buy his countries with my gold coins so he can stay, but he said he's not allowed to sell anything? that is what i have not experience, so i do like to know the reason so that eventually i know i will face the same issues as he does if nothing is corrected. my understanding is that you pay for one main entity in US $, and you can play as many other entities (country or enterprise) as you want by paying with GC. if he run out of GC, why isn't he allowed to sell anything if he's still have his main entity? or is it that his main entity has run out of US $? |
Josias | Friday, October 25, 2013 - 01:56 am i can say one thing, being banned from the forums, now-a-days, isn't nearly the punishment it once was its not like you'd actually miss out on anything. |
lenpeat | Friday, October 25, 2013 - 02:41 am We saw Action in The Virginia Bella Continent, the Roughriders Took this Hill, and Teddy came out of the Woods, as a Brown waving his Machete at Gods Given Cain to the Span Gold Ban. |

Andy | Monday, October 28, 2013 - 04:32 pm There is a lot of interest in a constructive dialog. There is no interest what so ever in a shouting match rich in nonsense and untrue messages. We remove such messages when we become aware of them. |

President John Henry Eden | Saturday, March 29, 2014 - 05:55 am I miss the good old days.....lot more options... ** wonders if buying and selling game assets like game cash and gold coins via paypal from players was the reason why the feature is turned off now. *** Looks a way guilty as hell....lol |
President John Henry Eden | Saturday, March 29, 2014 - 05:56 am |
maclean | Saturday, March 29, 2014 - 03:04 pm Possibly the game was becoming player-sustained--once a critical mass of enough players is reached, assets would be able to be traded solely between players, and the game would continue to run on its own. This would negate any massive influx of real money into the coffers of the owners of the game, other than membership dues. Just a theory. but I agree, interplayer trading is one of the things I miss most. |
johndoe677 | Saturday, March 29, 2014 - 05:46 pm andy you're full of shit make yourself useful and ban lenpeat |

Alterd Carbon | Sunday, March 30, 2014 - 03:16 am If gm wont do anything and I expect they wont. Than we need to lets find this guy we can delete his countries if he has a ceo we can put it out of business. Gm is not god. We cry to them too often we certainly can clean our own house with out there help. |
craigwilliamson79 | Sunday, March 30, 2014 - 04:04 am The player in question may not be able to communicate in any other way. If this is just something he does, we can safely ignore it. But, it is possible that he has a particular cognitive issue which severely limits his ability to communicate. I don't think it's right to do anything to him for something he might not be able to help. There really are people who communicate in this way. |
johndoe677 | Monday, March 31, 2014 - 12:08 am and here comes Craig making us look like jackasses.... good point I dont really mind lenpeat but andy talks about deleting messages that are non sense but ignores lenpeat kinda funny |
maclean | Monday, March 31, 2014 - 03:14 pm Maybe Andy is lenpeat. He certainly wouldn't delete himself... or would he?... |
