I had never gotten involved in the space stuff. The cost is absolutely absurd. It could be a really neat aspect to the game. As it sits, it will go no where. It is simply not viable for enough players to make it a functional part of the game.

Can't you use it to transport weapons you produce on LU or WG to your war country on FB?

I am still trying to figure out how it benefits. I see some fleets flying back and forth at times, mainly between FB, WG etc, however they are mainly owned by 2 or 3 different players. It's not a very diverse lot of traders. I hardly ever see any demand on the space stations other than Strategic or mobile units, etc.

Honestly weapons seems the only valid market on the SS. No one goes there for a gallon of milk.

I think a lot of players are just daunted by the complexities of building a shuttle and setting up space trade and don't feel like getting involved. let alone the GC cost of renting storage room on a space station to trade. It should be more accessible.

Its easy to get into space-trade, very accessible:
1) Buy a space-center (costs like ~10B Sim$$) in yer country
2) Buy a Cargo Shuttle via Direct Trade (cost 2.00 GC, all time low)
3) Rent a docking station (5 GC per RL month = Cheap) in relevant Space-station
4) Buy relevant goods (ive heard nukes are nice this time of the year)
5) Transport home to space-center
6) Win

It cost like less than 10 GC to get started.

back when coins were available many would buy products in over supply on one world and transport to another with shortages for resale. required very little efford to turn enough profit to justify haveing them. plus transporting weapons from other worlds was a consideration. always thought docking station was waste of time myself. currently only advantage i see by useing them would be to beat the country spending limit by purchaseing weapons with slave and transport to enterprise or war main. just my opinion.

"3) Rent a docking station (5 GC per RL month = Cheap) in relevant Space-station"

Which speaks against accessibility. What if you wanted to trade in more than one market? Why can't it be a unified market up there?

10GC is also 10GC more than a lot of players want to spend, when their saving their reward GC's to perpetuate their enterprise or spring for a pop transfer... and that's not counting what it takes to actually buy stuff.. 15-25GC for stack of 25 nukes, and fact is you just don't need nukes to win wars, means yes it IS expensive.

TheWhy says it keeps free players out. I agree. Something should be done to bring more players into the space market to make it more worthwhile.

I think you should only have to buy a docking station if you plan to sell stuff. If you want to buy, you should be able to buy stuff, throw it in the back of the wagon and go home. That would help bring more demand.

i just want to use the space game to move around goods from different worlds... you know expand the commodities market help supply demands and demand supplies make a profit.... however apparently i would need a country on every planet ect ect... i have plenty of GCs but cant pay for a membership

Heres something that will "SHOCK" you about life!

1-Theres nothing free in this world.
2-Theres not a damn thing free in the gaming world.
3-You will in the end we all pay to play, just like in life.

Merco is absolutely RIGHT this game is quickly becoming a pay to play game and with 1000's of free games out there you just have to look hard for them but they are there this game is not worth any real money and gm's dont want to make it free then it would cut into their profits just like the real business world

there's tons of online strategy games like simcountry that are completely free because they manage to attract enough players to go off advertisements..... SC will never attract enough players if you have to pay to play.... none of the other games have the sophistication of SC but they have obvious goals and objectives aswell as player interaction through well setup and essential structures in the game

I have played Simcountry for five years, my husband two years prior to that, and we have ALWAYS paid to play. Yes, everyone would ideally like to play and not pay anything, but I view this game like any other form of entertainment. When you go to the movies, you pay and heavily for refreshments! :P When you go to a play, you pay; to a concert, you pay; to a restaurant, you pay; to an amusement park, you pay.

There is a free option in this game for those to have a taste of the game and not pay. There is a paid option for those who want more. It's all a matter of perspective.

and my perspective is everyone else's perspective (is bad) should be that my perspective is the correct perspective because God told me that in his perspective my perspective was the correct perspective and then I told him my perspective was that realativism was a bad perspective and that everyone should listen to me and God but since God doesn't talk to anyone everyone should just listen to me

My complaint is not that there is a cost attached to the space game, it is that it is absurdly expensive in my opinion.

Being able to reach space used to be easier, as you could buy components in the world trade. That didn't last long, but...
