Andy | Wednesday, June 19, 2013 - 12:48 pm - New product added for the maintenance of all vessels. The product will be used in small monthly quantities for each vessel and will replace the use of services and high tech services that were used before. - Another new product added for the maintenance of all airplanes. The product will be used in small monthly quantities for each airplane, both military and civilian. The new maintenance product will replace the use of services and high tech services that were used before. - Military base maintenance products that were introduces on June 12, are now being used in small numbers in the maintenance of all military bases and fortifications. - Notifications were added to alert players to nuclear attacks on their countries, or in case an earth quake has occurred in the country . You can set these alerts on. They are now part of the notification system. - Twitter notifications and Facebook notifications have been upgraded. Check the notification pages. - An "End War - Peace offer" feature is reintroduced on the war window. - Corporations show the availability of supplies more precisely. If small amounts are used, the numbers show with two decimals. - War declaration messages have been improved and include information about a possible availability of nuclear weapons in the country that has declared war. - The profitability of many corporations is improving. Especially, high tech corporations that require game level 4 or 5, are becoming more profitable and are expected to increase in value. The new maintenance corporations are placed in the high tech group and have the potential to become very profitable. Defense industries that require game level 3 will also become more profitable. - The price range of products is slightly increased. It means that products that are in short supply will increase in price more than before. Products that are in oversupply decrease in price and the bottom level remains unchanged. |
Borg Queen | Wednesday, June 19, 2013 - 06:53 pm Heya Andy, I saw a lot of People had a sudden score-drop this game month, is it about the new improved Impact of Financial Index or any other Change? |
dboyd3702 | Thursday, June 20, 2013 - 03:49 am Why would you make a Navy Vessels Maintenance Manufacturer require Nuclear Submarines to biuld units, when Nuclear Submarines can not be built on all planets? |
dboyd3702 | Thursday, June 20, 2013 - 03:56 am OMG, and a Stealth Bomber and Strategic Bomber for Airforce Maintenance Manufacturer... |
the who | Thursday, June 20, 2013 - 04:10 am wow large oversight.... this is just gonna be another huge shortage that cant be filled... except maybe by some enterprising CEO hell bent on monopoly and control of a vital resource...... what happens if my army doesn't get these maintenence units anyways.... because if its just a slight degradation of welfare and constant reminders in the paper then I'm just not buying them.... why do I buy anything anyways wouldn't it be better to not buy anything for my population suffer abit of welfare and then make lots of money? |
the who | Thursday, June 20, 2013 - 04:12 am dboyd it encourages the space game that noone wants to play the gm is going to use insidious new features to tantalize us with change when really THE GM HAS ITS OWN AJENDA!!!! domination of the SC world |
the who | Thursday, June 20, 2013 - 04:13 am the ramifications are impossibly huge..... I'm declaring war on Andy... oh wait hes not war level 3 |
Mr Taco | Thursday, June 20, 2013 - 04:13 am Agenda* |
Mr Taco | Thursday, June 20, 2013 - 04:14 am Please |
dboyd3702 | Thursday, June 20, 2013 - 05:54 am I can not sell Supply Ships to the Navy Vessels Maintenance Manufacturer |
dboyd3702 | Thursday, June 20, 2013 - 05:56 am I can not sell Stealth Bombers to Airforce Maintenance Manufacturer |
Andy | Thursday, June 20, 2013 - 08:25 am All three products are being produced already. corporations are being created in all the worlds. we will check if there are any problems selling these corporations what they need. These corporations have a very high profit potential but require products that come from FB. They might be too complex for some but we expect profitability to be high for those who make the effort. Initially, if it takes some time for products to get to the market, we will add small numbers to keep shortages from running too high. |
Christos | Thursday, June 20, 2013 - 09:28 am It seems that recent changes caused a few countries' scores to go sky high and others (like me) to drop faster than anything I've ever seen. I was aiming at #1 on KB this month and now it seems I'm suddenly headed for...#30 or something. Plus, I have constant shortages of the new products that affect my supply level, even though I've put orders at "immediate" and "any quality". All that just because of an update out of nowhere... The lack of consistency and the constant changing of the rules is really dissapointing and frustrating... P.S. My CEO is currently also #1 in KB. Perhaps there is time for another update until June 30 to change that also... |
Andy | Thursday, June 20, 2013 - 09:57 am I just moved products into these corporations, including stealth bombers. If you have a difficulty, please explain what you do. The max number of products you can move in is rounded down and may show 0. if you fill in a number, it works. The rounding will be fixed shortly. |
Andy | Thursday, June 20, 2013 - 10:06 am The score base was rounded down to 4000 as many asked to make it simpler. this caused a reduction of the score in all countries. The score recently went up a lot but I do not remember any complaint about it. The score is tuned repeatedly in recent weeks to accommodate for the increase in awards and award penalties. These changes took place in the past two months, but never later than the 20th of the month. The supply index is a small factor. Adding new products to the game will continue. The shortage in the new products is showing in most countries, the influence on the score is small and many players are already able to get/produce these products. If your country is really good, the score tuning will not change that. |
the who | Friday, June 21, 2013 - 01:21 am andy seriously what happens if I don't get these maintenence units |
Mr Taco | Friday, June 21, 2013 - 01:23 am They make shortages in your country. I learned the hard way. I don't like these maintenance units too much.. |
dboyd3702 | Saturday, June 22, 2013 - 06:24 am It looks like high material costs vs. units produced and the cap in price that already has been reached; they may never make a profit... Good thing I only made one of each of the Air and Naval corps. |
Borg Queen | Saturday, June 22, 2013 - 11:50 am Andy, is it Intention that the Score you get for War Level 3 about 1600 higher then for War Level 2? |
dboyd3702 | Saturday, June 22, 2013 - 05:21 pm It looks like a fully expanded Air Maintenance may be able to break even, depending on how far the selling price drops. But the Navy one costs almost 10 times what it gets... |
Andy | Saturday, June 22, 2013 - 06:52 pm At this moment, there are shortages on all worlds but products are available and are delivered on all worlds. As with all new products, we make sure there is some supply but we can see that production is increasing. Shortages in the country are not disastrous but reduce the supply index which is a small factor of the score and influences the welfare index. However, there is no reason to have a shortage. if you order the product, it will be delivered but probably not immediately. The products require special attention as they need materials that are not traded on the market. If this is too difficult, don't build such corporations. we are convinced, that once people realize how profitable these corporations can be, there will be many such corporations on all the worlds. Currently, FB is the easiest to make them and they can be sold everywhere. |
Andy | Saturday, June 22, 2013 - 06:54 pm The quantities used now are set for the initial period and intended to start up the market. The usage of the products will increase in time. Numbers will increase coming Monday or Tuesday. |
Jack | Saturday, June 22, 2013 - 07:53 pm Andy, I like the idea of new corps. But SuperSoldier is right. Keep the corps but make some changes to the supplies needed. I really don't understand how an aircraft maint corp needs to chew up perfectly good and expensive aircraft to maintain other aircraft. I am retired military and I never remember seeing an aircraft maint unit pulling in air worthy stealth bombers, fighters etc to to maintain the rest of the squadron. They use spare parts to do that. The base maint uses other bases for maint supplies? The navy maint dismantles ships to maintain other ships? All of these maint units should be set up to use normal supply products such as electronics, machine parts, aluminum, steel, plastic, hi tech services, services, software, computers, etc. I know this is just a game but come on an let's be a little realistic. |
Andy | Sunday, June 23, 2013 - 12:31 am Maintenance cost is not increasing. this "High priced items" replace other cost. I remember saying this already. Even if cost was to increase, countries are becoming more profitable for other reasons, among them, increased profitability of corporations. The new corporations are potentially very profitable and many players will build them. I understand if you do not want to make them. There are so many other products you can make that are also profitable. We had the same discussion, with exactly the same words when Factory maintenance was introduced. Factory maintenance is one of the most profitable products and there are thousands of corporations making them. There will be two or three more types of maintenance corporations. when this is all done and at full capacity, we will have many corporations producing products that in the past were impossible to keep because the products they produce are never used. (space centers remain for ever, never destroyed, never consumed and all the corporations making them are gone). It will also make quality important in many products where it was not relevant before. It is strange to consume airplanes to replace parts of other airplanes. It is not realistic but we do not think that aircraft parts and parts of many other weapons will be a better solution while many corporations that are producing weapons, bases and navy ships are closing for lack of consumption. We expect up to 60 types of corporations producing products that were weak if not non existent along with their quality becoming relevant. |
Andy | Sunday, June 23, 2013 - 12:39 am It is important to keep this discussion clean of any misleading or false information. The cost of maintenance is not increasing, or it is offset by an increase in profitability. The overall profitability of corporations (and thus also countries) is increasing. The cost for the new corporations is similar to other corporations. Initial material cost can be higher but the monthly use is as in other corporations while product sale is much higher and can produce a much higher profit than all other corporations. |
Borg Queen | Sunday, June 23, 2013 - 01:00 am Andy, is it Intention that the Score you get for War Level 3 about 1600 higher then for War Level 2? |
Andy | Sunday, June 23, 2013 - 12:11 pm Game level cannot be the reason for such a difference. There are obviously many other differences. The country could be in a much better state, the game level difference could be due to one single index. |
Borg Queen | Sunday, June 23, 2013 - 10:41 pm Andy, I never said 'Game' Level, I said War-Level! If you look into countries with War-Level 2 and War-Level 3 on the score page it's a difference of about 1600 on the 'War Protection and War Level Contribution' part. So, is this as it should be? |
Andy | Monday, June 24, 2013 - 01:23 am I am sorry. reading is difficult. It should not be such a difference. 200 is more like it. I will urgently look into it Monday morning and fix it if needed. I will put a clear message on the forum if there was an error. I have already seen that there was a change that could lead to a runaway difference. It is the same for all countries with war level >2. |
Andy | Monday, June 24, 2013 - 11:38 am There is a major problem there, with a small group of players and it is repaired this morning. The score will decline to the correct levels. The error influenced all these countries in the same way and will correct them in the same way. see also a new discussion about this on the forum. Thanks for the comments. |
Mr Taco | Wednesday, June 26, 2013 - 07:30 pm ...that's the way I would like it.. |
The_Wicked_Lady | Wednesday, June 26, 2013 - 08:58 pm Crafty, Andrew is the programmer and the developer and doing a job based on what he is asked to do, as any employee. It doesn't matter if gaming is or is not his forte. He is paid to write computer code based on the instructions of his team. Furthermore, I don't think you are in a position to determine whether Andy should pursue a different avenue in his career or not. I find this statement by you disrespectful and uncalled for, and is exactly what I keep harping on with Wendy. Stop insulting people on a personal level. I know you don't like the new version of the game, but it is what it is. You have a choice. You play it and enjoy the positive aspects of the game, or you don't. Stop ruining it for those of us who do enjoy the game and stop dictating how we play the game and what we can or cannot post in chat and forums. Thank you. |
SuperSoldierRCP | Wednesday, June 26, 2013 - 09:15 pm Andy and i have our differences. Im the first to show dislike... Which im sure he hates me for, but im never been above telling him good job or that i support them. I think the biggest issue isn't the game but the communication between players and the GM. How can i feel as if i a valued customer when i'm non stopped censored for giving "false info" when that's the info provided to me in the documentation. 2 years ago we had Jozi chats and those where VERY important because after them we saw updates that both where welcome and needed. I think the GM should continue these. Maybe Jonni needs to step up and host them. I Think if the GM had more open communication with the player based it be a lot more plesent on both parties. Also im sure Andy is a great programmer, i would have no doubt on that. W3C is having a Bioware-Mass Effect 3 issue. They promised so much and can only deliever so little it looks like lies and false advertising. Like i said more open communication and "Jozi" Chats would help the game |
