Friday, February 8, 2013 - 05:32 pm Something must have changed in the game engine ... Every single one of my countries, 16 in total, on WG and GR, experienced a sudden drop in income tax. This amounted to around 3B SC$ a month in my 100M pop countries on WG, and around 1B SC$ per month in my 57M pop countries on GR. The drop happened in October 3099 on GR and in September 3027 on WG. Has anyone else seen that? Some of my countries have experienced earthquakes or lost corps recently, but others are incredibly stable. It's definitely not anything I've done. Is there a GM around who can tell us what was changed, and whether income tax payments will gradually move back to the original levels. It's playing hell with my FI ... Hugs and respect Jo

Friday, February 8, 2013 - 06:23 pm After nerfing the pension funds and leaving them at that, this must another entry in the "You're too successful for my taste" series. However, my countries on LU haven't experienced anything. Also, I still don't see why the Finance index isn't just a ratio of income/expenses. This isn't a service, so it shouldn't exhibit diminishing returns.

Friday, February 8, 2013 - 07:15 pm Im running at a loss something is afoot lol nothing new here hard to make a buck easy too spend it game is just about done compared to when i first started 10 years ago i dont have too explain myself.

Friday, February 8, 2013 - 08:01 pm Drop in income tax noticed on GR too Jo Employment rate not changing, hence total income of workers not changing. Along with the drop in tax income is the drop in contribution to health and education.

Friday, February 8, 2013 - 08:58 pm I noticed drops to My thought is maybe the GM is lowering Taxes in order to allow populations to buy higher Q consumer goods? If they are there still needs to be a few more revisions done before that will happen, OR MAYBE THEY LOWERING IT AND NEXT UPDATE WE CAN SET OUR OWN TAX RATES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Friday, February 8, 2013 - 10:51 pm Same here, Oct 3099 on GR Drop in tax, and contributions to health and edu.

Friday, February 8, 2013 - 10:56 pm GR needed an economic stimulation package. More free cash - more spending - more GM er... world growth. Anyways, I love GR for its money.

Saturday, February 9, 2013 - 12:07 am Thanks everyone for confirming, and Rick for noticing the other factors ... yes I can confirm a drop in education and health contributions at exactly the same time. @SS ... if this is a prelude to us being able to set our own income tax rate, then I would be VERY happy. Otherwise ... @Laguna ... I'm not that paranoid and I'm reluctant to believe that this is personal. Surely the GMs wouldn't do that just because I was getting very close to level 16? But it's true that the drop may make the difference between me achieving it and not achieving it Has anyone else on LU seen a drop, or is it just on WG and GR? GMs ... Andy ... Robocop ... please can you explain what is happening! Hugs and respect Jo

Saturday, February 9, 2013 - 01:05 pm Pffft... there ya go, Rick rolled claiming all the glory again! It was humble little CC posted about the health and edu first :p, but I'm not a uber famous pop star am I? oh no, the minions dont count, all about the rich and famous... (turns my back and walks away mumbling...)

Saturday, February 9, 2013 - 01:31 pm Tax numbers are now less than 50% of what they were a year ago. We are measuring income and cost. both continue to drop and profits remain constant or increasing. Please read recent game news and explanation of the long term trends in numbers in general. Discussing reduction in income without any mentioning of even larger reductions in cost prevents us from going into details and from providing exact figures of what and how much.

Saturday, February 9, 2013 - 05:43 pm Ooops, yes you did mention it first, sorry for missing that. And you'll always be a pop star to me, Crafty ~hugs~ Thanks for the explanation, Andy! Are you planning for us to be able to set our own income tax anytime soon? Perhaps linked to welfare so that there are penalties as well as benefits? Hugs and respect Jo

Saturday, February 9, 2013 - 06:36 pm Stuff like this is never personal. Nor is there any reason for it to be personal. They do, however, hit the most successful players more frequently and more intensively. The way this will work will be pretty much the same: events that departure from the mean will be even scarcer. At least we aren't linking costs (or incomes) to the financial index. That would just be a cliché.

Saturday, February 9, 2013 - 07:38 pm with the last update, over all, all my countries are making the same, or more than they were. some, a really good chunk. i guess it comes down to how you run your country. the only thing that concerns me, and i have yet to mail the GM, is tht my countries are now auto buying upgrades that i did not order, or set in the the order strats.

Saturday, February 9, 2013 - 07:58 pm Forced military quality upgrade? You know it makes sense.

Saturday, February 9, 2013 - 11:48 pm OK, I'll fess up. I didn't actually notice any changes, I just copied craftys post. Ya know, forced military upgrades make sense....care to comment on that Jo?

Sunday, February 10, 2013 - 01:49 am not sure forced military upgrade would be how to say it. I set the upgrade levels to all my stuff to max. Knowing that i would never be able to afford to keep enough upgrades to keep up. but would be able to buy chunks from time to time. but for some reason, the country recognizes the gap, and is auto-ordering the upgrades. i've cancel the purchase orders, (one country had a several pending orders for 38M AQU,) so far they seem to be ok. if it continues i'll ask the GM for help, i mean, i want the upgrades, but i can't afford them at that speed. i've also lowered the fighting Q for allot of units, to see if that helps.

Sunday, February 10, 2013 - 03:42 am LOL Rick ... this game is better, the more decisions that are left to individual players. So I wouldn't support 'forced' anything. Hugs and respect Jo

Sunday, February 10, 2013 - 05:28 am Ah hell Crafty, Jo doesn't agree with ya!

Sunday, February 10, 2013 - 10:46 am The purchasing system for all products you use is automatic unless you turn it off in the settings. The ordering is based on the number of products your country uses each game month and you can set order strategies in the trade menu. If any upgrades have been ordered, it means that there is a monthly use. products you may have and are not used on monthly bases, are not ordered automatically. Anyway, you can set your own strategy for each product.

Sunday, February 10, 2013 - 12:34 pm It's ok Rick, you can think and speak for yourself, honestly, you can.

Sunday, February 10, 2013 - 04:08 pm
yes, andy, in the order strategies, i chose to not order quality upgrades. nothing changed, except my country ordering them, with out me telling it to. it was working one way, and with out me doing anything, its working another way. as in needing them, not having them and not ordering them to them being ordered with out me even knowing. several of my countries took severe cash hits, and debt. i want the upgrades, but i can not afford them at the speed they are being auto-ordered

Sunday, February 10, 2013 - 09:54 pm I think it must be like the ammo thing that happened Josias. It was recently made that if your country is using something it will auto order them. All you can do is toggle the upgrading buttons I suppose.

Sunday, February 10, 2013 - 10:59 pm Thanks Crafty, I think I can...I think I can.

Monday, February 11, 2013 - 01:34 am /shaking finger at Crafty and Rick Now, now, gentlemen. I am used to people of the male persuasion fighting over me, but I refuse to be made to be the referee. Be nice guys! I love you both equally, in different ways ;) Hugs and respect Jo PS: I'm really liking the tone of the forum these days. Much more respect, positivity and rationality, and much less trash talking ... #theworldisbecomingabetterplace

Monday, February 11, 2013 - 05:10 am
you know, allot of people like the trash talk. with out it, no one can actually do anything. stop crowding it out. you are shooting yourself in the foot.

Monday, February 11, 2013 - 05:21 am lol points Josias to the trash talking hijacked Game News Thread ===>

Monday, February 11, 2013 - 05:25 am yea, and their wasn't much going in this game at all, until the recent events on LU. It sparked allot of interest in the game. allot of new and old players find new and refreshed interest in the game. with out something to stir things up, nothing happens. many are willing to enjoy the benefits of an active game, while criticizing much of the source

Monday, February 11, 2013 - 05:28 am i mean shoot, we aren't suppose to engage in forum banter, because its to mean. but then we can't just attack some one, with out forum banter, because its an ambush, and not fare. kinda an oxymoron. i mean, theirs complaints that the fed system is dying, because war levels protect players from unwanted wars. yet, its a social no no, to declare war one some one that doesn't want it. you can't have it both ways.

Monday, February 11, 2013 - 06:53 am their is a middle ground the trash talk, and drama, generate interest. that interest, floods over into a general interest in the game, and community. but with out the friction, many are bored, and crave the drama, and will be looking for it. the point i'm making, is don't crowd it out. your shooting yourself in the foot

Monday, February 11, 2013 - 06:29 pm There's a big difference betwixt banter/trash talk and plain old hate/spite/maliciousness.
