Sierra | Thursday, February 7, 2013 - 09:41 pm I was doing my usual country hopping today, looking for anything that stood out as far aiding a country's success goes. I came across a country that had several civilian airports and was quite surprised at how much of an increase there was in the country's population. Now since i'm used to only seeing a thousand or so, is it possable that the purchasing of additional airports serves as a bonus to the addition of new arrivals? |

Josias | Friday, February 8, 2013 - 12:19 am send me the name of the country, i'd like to take a look, i have a suspicion. or rather, i'm pretty curious, i guess would be more accurate |
Laguna | Friday, February 8, 2013 - 07:26 am Your population is increased at a higher rate if you have a high welfare index. Airports play no part in that. |
Crafty | Friday, February 8, 2013 - 02:28 pm It's quite simple. The country is flying in the refugees of the NLUO countries as they flee their crumbling societies. |
Sierra | Friday, February 8, 2013 - 02:33 pm will do Josias, i'll just need to find it again lol. So if airports play no part, why do some countries have several? |
SweetPea | Friday, February 8, 2013 - 02:42 pm They have many because they are how you make relief flights for earthquakes and other disasters. |
Sierra | Friday, February 8, 2013 - 05:44 pm hmm, shouldn't one or two suffice then? |
Stephen Ryan | Friday, February 8, 2013 - 07:19 pm What about roads i build thousands and thousands of roads in some of my countries all the time what a joke |
Josias | Friday, February 8, 2013 - 08:00 pm when you build an AT corp, it comes with an air port. its why you can't relocate them the thing that made me curious. i build lots of AT corps, and have lots of airports for that reason. I like the corp, i'm very successful, with those and well, i've got a 120M pop increasing its pop naturally... and i'm doing it in a few other countries, and its not a bug. but like LG said, i don't think their is a relation so i'd like to see what sierra was talking about. Maybe i can learn something |
Sierra | Saturday, February 9, 2013 - 06:02 am Maybe I was mistaken about something, if so I appologise. It just seems as though the population growth in my country is so little in comparison to the country in question. It was because of the large gap in population growth at the time that I thought airports had a part to play. |
Sierra | Saturday, February 9, 2013 - 06:04 am why do you feel that road building is a joke stephen? |
Crafty | Saturday, February 9, 2013 - 12:46 pm Check the numbers Sierra. Funny, I was thinking about this myself just the other day. It requires a whole lot more roads to achieve the same index as it does rail miles. Equate into SC$ cost and it doesnt seem very balanced. Water is a different matter, I'm not that interested to do a R/L analysis, but I wonder how the effectivity of road to rail travel and the cost of building each mile differs. |
Josias | Saturday, February 9, 2013 - 06:12 pm i build 5 water treatment, 1000 miles of train tracks, and 2500 miles of roads at a time, and it keeps the indexes even. |
Sierra | Saturday, February 9, 2013 - 06:12 pm hmm, I guess I just didn't put much thought into it. I thought the game was designed with the intent that one of the corner stones of a successful country was sufficient road, rail and water |
