Andy | Tuesday, December 11, 2012 - 01:43 pm 1. Country Pages and Settings More improvements to the country home page are part of the ongoing process to improve the site look and feel. The settings page is also improved. It is in style with many other pages on the site and easier to use. 2. War Index Computation Fortifications have a major weight on the war index. If all fortifications in a country are destroyed, the war index declines by 50 points. The decline used to depend on the number of fortifications in the country at the start of the war. If the country had 10 fortifications at the start of the war, each destroyed fortification reduced the war index by 5 points. If the country had 100 fortifications, (The maximum number), each destroyed fortification reduced the war index by 0.5 points. We have now changed this and every destroyed or absent fortification reduces the war index by 0.5 points. If a country has 10 fortifications, the war index can reach a maximum of 55 point (not 100) and the destruction of each fortification will reduce the index by 0.5 points. The change has no effect on how easy or difficult it is to win a war. In the past, and also now, you need to destroy all the fortifications to reduce the war index by 50 points. However, many countries that have less than 100 fortifications will see their war index decline. If you have 40 fortifications, your war index will now decline by 30 points because you are 60 fortifications under the max number and each fortification counts for 0.5 points. During war, while fortifications are being destroyed, you can purchase new fortifications and when these are delivered, it will be taken into account and the war index may increase again. The war index of your country and its computation are available in details in the war menu. During war, the war index of your enemy is also available on the war pages. 3. Map control pages All pages under Map Control have been improved. These pages are now nicer and faster. 4. History Graphs When the values of some fields did not change much, the history graph ended up flat, and small changes where hardly noticeable. The history graphs are now improved and scale differently to show even small changes in value. This problem was solved before, but the solution was insufficient for variables with very small changes. We will view the new graphs and may intervene again if necessary. 5. Stealth Bombers and the Navy The navy is too weak when facing stealth bomber attacks. Missiles can be intercepted but if interceptors are too far to help, stealth bombers are not facing any serious threat when attacking the navy. Defensive Navy Missile Batteries that are effective against other airplanes are now effective against Stealth Bombers. The chance to hit a Stealth Bomber with a single missile is 2% but every battery uses up to 6 missiles in each counterattack and if there are many such batteries participating in the defense, the chance of hitting some of these stealth bombers becomes realistic. The weapons document is updated. |
Crafty | Tuesday, December 11, 2012 - 02:32 pm Great news on the graphs, this was a pet bug of mine. |
Gaz | Tuesday, December 11, 2012 - 10:02 pm Whatever changes you guys made to the war maps on LU it's much better. The abilty to go were I like and the blue arrows showing were my units heading is a great help. Though I did fight a war on WG last night and it was different. There was no arrows and I still had to click on the target for my units to move. Why is it different on the worlds? |
Gaz | Tuesday, December 11, 2012 - 10:16 pm Ok so this is getting weird. Either the GM is playing around with the maps this very moment or im having some more issues. After typing that last message. I went back to the war im fighting and the blue arrows have gone and can no longer go wherever I like. Andy what is going on lol? Should I email you guys? |
Kiss_of_Death | Tuesday, December 11, 2012 - 10:43 pm Well they better be playing around wif the maps, because they have totally ignored my email request today!!!! SCOWL!!!!!!!!!! I would hate to have to put game management on my list. ha ha ha ha |
Gaz | Tuesday, December 11, 2012 - 11:01 pm There inbox has been busy today |
SweetPea | Tuesday, December 11, 2012 - 11:21 pm I'm thinking that the P/E for IPOing corps have to be raised. Since being forced to raise salaries up to 310 to compete with c3 hiring P/E under normal circumstances is hardly capable of getting to <40.0 to ipo. I do a little asq, not that is as effective as before and still see the mean range of p/e rations anywhere from 60.0-90.0 We need some kind of give and take here. Raising salaries by %30 or higher in most cases was bound to have this effect. |
Andy | Wednesday, December 12, 2012 - 03:50 pm Gaz Thanks for the comments on the units. It should be working on all worlds and the last update was unrelated. we will check now and fix whatever went wrong. |
Gaz | Wednesday, December 12, 2012 - 04:02 pm Im happy to report it's back working again on LU. Im gonna fight on FB later. I'll see if it works there to. |
Andy | Wednesday, December 12, 2012 - 04:05 pm BTW Are you sure that in all cases, you were looking at the war maps? The arrows are showing on all the worlds on the war maps where you can move units. The arrows are not showing on the regular big maps. please check again and let us know! We just checked the war maps and we see the arrows. We plan to merge the two map sets into one and allow the movement of units, at all times during war, or in peace time, within your country. |
Andy | Wednesday, December 12, 2012 - 04:07 pm KOD wicked!!! SweetPea I will check. you might be right. |
nix001 | Wednesday, December 12, 2012 - 04:08 pm Hi Andy. Merry Christmas to all SC if I'm not around later. Ok.....under the box headed Defence rank it used to have the link where you could go to the list of countries you have. This link now only seems to be on the home page of the country, meaning when I do a worker swap I now have to load the home page instead of just clicking the link on the worker swap page. As I have around 55 countries this adds too much time onto my country maintenance. Any chance you could put it back? |
Kiss_of_Death | Wednesday, December 12, 2012 - 04:15 pm Andrew, You know it!! From one wicked to another! :P ha ha ha Andy made my list!!! giggles! |
Crafty | Wednesday, December 12, 2012 - 04:17 pm 55 countries nix? That makes you about 11 QUAD in debt. Not including enterprises. Nice going. I would feel sure it's a game record. |
Gaz | Wednesday, December 12, 2012 - 04:20 pm Yes Andy I was on the war maps attacking the countries. There was no arrows. It has been changing over the past few weeks. Sometimes arrows sometimes none. Always on the attack screen. |
nix001 | Wednesday, December 12, 2012 - 04:34 pm ;) Crafty. Who needs Nukes when you have Debt bombs LOL (I also have enough Nukes to destroy a couple of countries WITH Nuke defences) Andy please scroll up and read my comment. |
Kiss_of_Death | Wednesday, December 12, 2012 - 05:12 pm Gaz, This is to keep you on your toes!!!! and make it challenging!!! :P Nix, I need some countries. I would love to take a few off your hands. lol I think it is the sim way to be and 55 are just way too stressful for you. So do I get some gifties??? :P |
nix001 | Wednesday, December 12, 2012 - 05:36 pm Trust me Kiss....it wouldn't be worth it ;) |
Kiss_of_Death | Wednesday, December 12, 2012 - 05:49 pm I'm so happy today. I just want to spread a lil sunshine to ALL. EVERYONE,,,SMILE!!!!! It's okay, Nixer. I really look forward from starting from the ground up. It has been a couple of years since I've actually played...it will be a new challenge for me :-) |

Andy | Thursday, December 13, 2012 - 02:34 pm Thanks Nix. Please check the My empire menu. The first option, will give you the list of all the countries in the empire. |
Gaz | Thursday, December 13, 2012 - 06:45 pm I can report the war maps on FB are NOT the same as LU. No blue arrows or the ability to go were I like. |
Kiss_of_Death | Thursday, December 13, 2012 - 07:11 pm Dearest Gaz (smiles at you, knowingly) 2 different worlds, 2 different maps. deal wif it, and leave Andrew alone! I deemed it to where you can't go where you like, and I likes it like that. You and you alone are restricted. I foresee an earthquake coming your way too....real soon!!! |
Gaz | Thursday, December 13, 2012 - 07:57 pm That's me told lol If you like it fair enough. I'll shut up. Guess you can't keep everyone happy. Anyway I thought the GM was having issues it's changed so much. Earthquakes are the least of my probs right now |
Kiss_of_Death | Thursday, December 13, 2012 - 08:06 pm Oh and PS.........I dun like things blue. And that avatar incites me to unspeakable anger!!! I think it is an alien version of giving us all da finger... I dunno. I just know....I dun likes it! |
Crafty | Thursday, December 13, 2012 - 08:09 pm Take no notice of that wicked old, smelly footed, hooked nosed charlatan Gaz. She earthquaked me too, but I got over it. Andy is watching and judging Kiss, be careful, your good days are running out ;) |
Gaz | Thursday, December 13, 2012 - 08:25 pm You'd like him once you get to know him KoD. He has shoes in his left hand. Moon Boots Green 1's not blue |
Gaz | Thursday, December 13, 2012 - 08:26 pm Noted crafty lol. |
Kiss_of_Death | Thursday, December 13, 2012 - 08:39 pm Dddd iiiid someone say MOON BOOTS???!!! Shoes???!!!! I'm being judged???? OMG IS ANDREW GONNA BAN ME????!!!!! He better not!!! He's already on my list! I'll have to send an earthquake his way too if THAT happens!!! ha ha ha ha Crafty, dun make me push da button on you again! ha ha ha ha ha ha ha |
Kiss_of_Death | Thursday, December 13, 2012 - 08:41 pm Furthermore, I do NOT have smelly feet!!! |
Crafty | Thursday, December 13, 2012 - 08:50 pm But you dont deny the hooked nose, or the big hairy wart on the end of it, huh, do you...do you. |
Kiss_of_Death | Thursday, December 13, 2012 - 10:49 pm Imma witch, what you think? ha ha ha ha And I was recently told that hairy wart was sexy! |
Gaz | Friday, December 14, 2012 - 12:43 am Good news. The Blue arrows are on the FB war maps. Andy I noticed another problem with the maps. A c3 I dec'd on had no cities showing on the warsceeen.. I tried attack from a list but no target came up to show me where there at. I need to get in range with my LRD's Ps KoD Lets not go there pls |
Gaz | Friday, December 14, 2012 - 12:58 am I give up. It's changed again. |
Kiss_of_Death | Friday, December 14, 2012 - 03:09 am Cuz I willed it to change back! So there! :P ha ha ha |
Drew | Friday, December 14, 2012 - 08:31 am I just took a c3, without attacking a city, or fortification because of that fortification rule. I mean wow is there war has become too easy problem, lol! KNOCK ON WOOD, JUST KIDDING, PLEASE DON'T HURT ME! |
Gaz | Friday, December 14, 2012 - 03:15 pm You won without attacking a city Drew? What war level? |
Kiss_of_Death | Friday, December 14, 2012 - 03:59 pm Pfft I have taken over entire empires without even having had to fire a single shot!!! Who needs targets!!! My game ego abounds as well as my wickedness!!!! :P |
Drew | Friday, December 14, 2012 - 08:05 pm 3, well i hit the capital and some towns but no city |
Gaz | Friday, December 14, 2012 - 10:02 pm Everytime I fight an new war something is different. I noticed it got easier but the last war I fought was tougher again. |
Andy | Saturday, December 15, 2012 - 11:49 am I just tried several wars. The arrows are always there. I did not see a single problem. The fortifications deliver 0.5 points per destroyed fortification plus 0.01 or 0.02 due to damage and casualties. When all fortifications are destroyed, the total damage points from fortifications is 50. This was 50 before. nothing is changed. War is as easy or as difficult as before because none of the war rules was changed, no changes in the relative power of weapons or ammunition no changes in the war engine and no changes what so ever in the painting. If you think that the change in the counting of damage points from fortifications makes winning wars easier, read the game news again. If you remain convinced that winning wars is easier, than before, that is OK too. |
Gaz | Saturday, December 15, 2012 - 06:11 pm Andy I've fought about 20 c3 wars these past few days and it's been changing. I promise you that. Or am I just imagining this? You know it's kinda easy to see those blue lines and im telling you they were NOT there. Most of the time Maybe it's my account with the probs? Im fighting wars on FB at level 6 and yesterday or the day before it got easier to win. 1 or 2 of the wars I had I only needed to destroy all the cities to win. I noticed it got harder again and I needed to hit the corps/forts. It changed then changed back. Everything's been consistent with the way im fighting, always the same war level and the c3's pretty much identical. So it's easy for me to notice any difference. |
Gaz | Saturday, December 15, 2012 - 07:34 pm If there's nothing wrong with the maps Andy why do my supply unit sprites now look like air units? Check my country Mayhem on LU pls? When I click on 1 of them units it says Mills is a Air Force Defense Wing of Mayhem. Yet in the right hand side it has 85 jeeps like my supply units should have. Hope you see this soon cause im in a war and if they dont work like there supposed to im extremely vunerable. I could try pull them down and put them back up but I want you to see them. My supply units should be the blob on the left. |
Phoenix King | Saturday, December 15, 2012 - 08:07 pm ++++++++++++100000000000000000 good updates, another full member for a year, merry christmas. |
Drew | Sunday, December 16, 2012 - 07:45 am Fortifications may make wars unchanged in difficulty only when there is 100 fortifications OR you are required to destroy all fortifications. In any other situation it is easier, because the index points reduction loss is made up by the loss in WI up front. The old system in the case of fewer fortifications will lead to equaling the new system. Though each fortification destroyed with the old system will shrink the gap between the two systems but it will not catch up until the final destroyed fortification. I'm sure there are a lot of players that may finish the index with forts and not have to destroy all 50 points. The easiest way to look at this is with an analogy. Drew runs twice as fast as Lorelei and they are to run a 100m race. If Lorelei gets to start at the 50m mark, at no time will Drew (Old system) ever be in front of Lorelei (new system), however they will still complete the race in a draw. I rest my case, it is easier solely based on this rule. However you said if we find it easier that's okay, I'm going to prescribe to that mentality. It's all good with me. |
Mizore | Tuesday, December 18, 2012 - 01:53 am By the way, I take back every bad thing I said about the Old Layout, please don't take it away. |
Jiang Hu Warrior | Tuesday, December 18, 2012 - 01:56 am agreed, sometimes the old ways are always best |
Jiang Hu Warrior | Tuesday, December 18, 2012 - 01:58 am hey guess what its someones Real BIRTHday! toDay! |
SweetPea | Tuesday, December 18, 2012 - 08:02 am I'm thinking that the P/E for IPOing corps have to be raised.
Quote:Since being forced to raise salaries up to 310 to compete with c3 hiring P/E under normal circumstances is hardly capable of getting to <40.0 to ipo. I do a little asq, not that is as effective as before and still see the mean range of p/e rations anywhere from 60.0-90.0 We need some kind of give and take here. Raising salaries by %30 or higher in most cases was bound to have this effect.
Any word on changing this? Also Andy, corps market value has just about been decimated. My corps are now in most cases 75% lower in terms of market value compared to before the last two updates. Is market value expected to recover in the longer term because nearly 90% of my corps that were eligible for IPO are now below the market value threshold in my ceos. Corps in countries or state owned rather seem to be immune from these changes but my CEO is taking it on the head. On an unrelated note, should we expect c3 welfare which is 97 to increase following the rise of salaries? Say to even just 105 would be considerably better for my corps. It kills me to see non-upgraded corps making big loot in a c3 with only 97 welfare while my fully upgraded corp is having problems. |
Crafty | Tuesday, December 18, 2012 - 02:30 pm C3 welfare should go up with higher salaries agreed. Their welfare was raised some a while back. I think a flat 100% would be fair and the rest is up to the CEO. I also would like to see sub 100 welfare be another reason for a corp owner to be excused from paying fees to move a corp. (applicable to player run countries of course). |
SweetPea | Tuesday, December 18, 2012 - 02:41 pm Quote:I also would like to see sub 100 welfare be another reason for a corp owner to be excused from paying fees to move a corp. (applicable to player run countries of course).
Perfect there I agree. |
