You may enter by posting a pic of you all dressed up for Halloween as your Avatar for the month of October. It IS A REQUIREMENT. Failure to comply means sudden death!!!! There will be such a reign of evilness by me..... shoes being thrown at your heads.... all sorts of torture! We will all vote for who we think is the winner! | Tuesday, October 9, 2012 - 04:05 pm Yup :P Well just to update you all on my halloweeness.... I have totally decorated my work office. My area is the Witch's Corner, complete with broom and a sign that says The Witch Is In. I have my cape, hat and wig, but have not decided how I will paint my face this year. I like my spiders motif, but I think I need something a bit more evil, yet elegant, of course! This weekend I have several haunted houses that I am going to, including a ghost tour down town Nashville, the one where you ride around in a hearse with a moon roof that you stand and yell at people from. ha ha ha Myself and my friends will be reveling it up in complete costume and drinking our spirits, uhhhhh pardon the pun! The following weekend, we have the haunted bonfire planned. Every year all my family and friends get together in a large field in the country and build a huge bonfire. Some wear costumes, some don't. We roast hotdogs and marshmallows, have hay rides. We have live music. It's a hoe-down of sorts. ha ha ha Oh and I've done my research!!! We have three trunk or treats planned on the 28th, 29th and 30th and then real trick or treating on the 31st... CANDY!!!!!!!!!! Myself and my cuz who have yet to miss a year trick or treating have already planned our attack route!!! Thank Gawd we have children and more children on the way, we will trick or treat til we are 70 or have no teeth, whichever comes first!!!

| Tuesday, October 9, 2012 - 04:10 pm Laguna, I will tell you something funny. This is in response to your country not celebrating halloween. My cuz, his wife and kids moved to Germany years back due to his being stationed there in the military. Well Halloween is really big in my family here and celebrated quite a bit. Well Sue (my cuz's wife) put witches and pumpkins out on her front stoop and decorated her door. She noticed that her neighbors would walk by look and rush off quickly ha ha ha ha They had never heard of such and thought she and the family were of the devil. ha ha ha ha Then it was finally told to her that they didn't celebrate Halloween there. lol

Well so far I've not gotten into that part of the game. Just been scooping up C3's so I doubt if I could help much at all. Ran my CEO so far in debt had to do something about that so I've not even been doing that much either. Right now about all I could do if someone came after me is make it cost them far more than it's worth ... which won't deter some  Actually we are getting into the Halloween mood here also. Local dealership is sponsoring a motorcycle ride with a zombie paint ball hunt to follow this Sunday .. going on that

| Saturday, October 13, 2012 - 07:24 am Halloween is becoming more popular in Deutschland Lorelei, what year was your cousin sent there? The thing is we have other festivals around this time of year, centred around specific cities: Allerheiligen, Oktoberfest, Tag der Deutschen Einheit (Reunification day Oct 3), Erntedankefest (Our "Thankgiving"), Cannstatten Wasen, the marvellous Berlin light parties und Reformationstag in Oct 31, along with Halloween lol. But yeah Halloween is very recent. One day we were at Charlotte's parents house on October 31st and a few kids knocked on the door. Her parents were so estranged by them asking for candy in weird costumes that her dad told them to stop being vandals and to go home. I told him it was Halloween and that americans celebrated it that way, he just blamed the stationed soldiers for these ridiculous festivities... lol I believe religion has to do a lot whether a country or not celebrates it. Mexico, from the few people whom I've talked to, has this custom since recently as well, they usually celebrate day of the dead and people say they have this delicious bread... We're not leaving until we get a piece of that!

| Monday, October 15, 2012 - 05:01 pm Gosh, Wolfie, It was when his kids were really kids, so maybe about 15 years ago. My ancestors are from Germany and were part of the Germantown settlement here in downtown Nashville. We have an Oktoberfest every year. We like our German beer! :P I need to find online the history of halloween. I think as time goes by more and more will celebrate it. It has gotten really commercial over here in the states. People decorate their yards like they do at Christmas. There are put-on haunted houses. I love my annual encounters with Michael Myers, the psychopath from the movie, Halloween. lol I love this time of year. I love fall,,,, the beautiful colored leaves, the smell of burning leaves, the cool crisp air. I love the bonfires that we have, the wiener and marshmallow roasts that we have. We have hayrides, music and dance. We had a great time downtown Nashville, doing the haunted tour over the weekend. :P I never knew Nashville, TN was so haunted!!!!

| Monday, October 15, 2012 - 05:05 pm Yankee... lol part of the fun is scaring the lil tykes. he he he I remember when I was a kid, there was this house, had a ghost strung up in the yard on a post. When you walked by, there was actually someone under the sheet and they'd chase after you! We would scream and RUN! lol But the coolest is this house close to where I live. They build like a little house of horrors and you have to go through it with the fog, the scary noises and monsters to reach the big cauldron of candy. But you have to be brave enough to get the candy, because there is someone under the table and their hand comes up through the "cauldron" to grab your hand as you reach for the candy. ha ha ha

I had a rendevouz wif Michael Myers, the creepy serial killer from the movie, Halloween. ha ha ha I also went to a hoe down/bonfire/hayride. Ate roasted hotdogs and grilled hamburgers and all the fixin's. Listened to some of the most gawd-awful country twangy music that I have ever heard in my life! It was horrible! I suffered!
