Andy | Monday, August 27, 2012 - 09:42 pm Corporations that are producing products that are not traded on the world markets are stockpiling these products and need a lot of cash to survive. This problem was very severe in Cargo Shuttle corporations and was solved by automatic selling of the completed products to the owner of the corporation, removing the need for manual cash injections and stockpiling the shuttles in the owner country (or enterprise). The same should have been done with other products that are not selling on the world markets. Example: Nuclear submarines, cruise missiles, ships and batteries and more. We will now start moving (selling) these products to the owner country but only if the owner is able to pay for these products. If a corporation is producing a product that cannot be sold on the world market and the corporations has a stock of these unsold products, that is larger than 40 months production, it will sell 10% of the stockpile to the owner. Example: If the corporation is producing Nuclear Submarines, (yearly production is about 1.5 submarines) and has a stock of more than 5 submarines, it will start selling 1 nuclear submarine to the owner country (or enterprise) each game month. The numbers are rounded down and the minimum number is 1. The mechanism is in fact in force for several years. corporations that are producing products that are trading on the world market are selling excessive stocks of such corporations on the market. |
Crafty | Tuesday, August 28, 2012 - 01:18 am Can we have an opt out choice on this please Andy. If you automatically move these products to country stock then the maintenance has to be paid for their upkeep. Some might prefer to keep product in stock and prop up their corps from the countrys' coffers. |
Andy | Tuesday, August 28, 2012 - 09:52 am The feature in fact existed before. we have seen that the problem is mainly when the owner does not have the money to pay for the products. The automatice cash transfers keep these corporations alive in such cases, giving them money that the owner should not spend because of his debts. we will prevent such transfers if the country or enterprise are in deep debt. Stopping these sales will for sure, bankrupt the corporations fairly quickly. you can't keep manual cash supply to a corporation for a long period. Once you forget to do this for a couple of days, it will bankrupt. bottom line is, that if you have such corporations, you must sell the products quickly on the space market or in direct trading to get the money to keep these corporations running. If you do not want to do so, close such corporations before they bankrupt and take the entire enterprise down. |
