Anthony King | Friday, August 17, 2012 - 05:54 pm Here is what Andy wrote this year that i found and i was looking for something that other players do not know about the rules that GM can have over others. If you players can not handle the rules, you got problems and it still stands with the company. If you don't believe me, scroll down on the General chat list and look for the head line called (Player Banning) section. Sunday, April 22, 2012 - 12:24 pm -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Homerdome, This is not the US of A. This is a private company. We developed a game with its own rules. None of them is free speech. Being here for two years you know exactly how it works. If anyone breaks our rules he will not have an opportunity to do it again. Now you know... Good day and Satan speed. |
Yankee | Friday, August 17, 2012 - 07:09 pm It's also a private company that more or less ran off it's paying customers. They went on a big push to get some back, personally I don't see much has changed for the better, most seems to be negative. However I came back, bought a premium account and decided to give them a chance as it was at one time a fun game. So far when my time runs out I doubt I'll be back again. |
Lorelei | Friday, August 17, 2012 - 09:07 pm Yankee, My most enjoyment in the game was never really the intellectual challenge of the game, but the fun times I used to have in chat and with some of the players. I like to laugh and make people laugh. I'm glad to see that some people are still capable of laughing and having a good time. I haven't really played the game for some years, and pretty sure if I were to buy a premium account and start over I would fail miserably. I don't have Bobo and Blue any more to play the game with. I have absolutely no knowledge of how the game works now. I've gone from a Hall of Famer to even lower than noob status. lol It is really hard for me to criticize the game owners as I really do not know their objectives. I figured they wanted to clean house, so to speak, rebuild the game, and attract a new player set, I suppose. Who knows. I know I have absolutely disagreed at some of their decisions, so that is why I quit paying to play the game a while back. Because their decision sent me the message that I obviously was not a valued customer and because Blueserpent and I had endless arguments over the game mostly about my issues. It just stopped being important to me. Everything HAS changed in the game. Even the people have changed. Of all the veteran players that I still see in the game, only a very few have even acknowledged my presence, you included, and that was basically to indicate I have an endless air supply. ha ha ha (You are excused because you don't really know me, as you were leaving the game when I really became vocal in it as KissOfDeath in Bobo's fed). I know I spam a lot in the forums with endless prattle, but this is my attempt to have fun and engage people in talk and game comraderie. Maybe my type of sense of humor is not so appreciated in such a game involving war, economy, and politics, which I absolutely have no knowledge about. ha ha ha For the sake of those in the game who always valued you as a player, Yankee, I hope you will change your mind. I know you were one of the great players in the game. I remember the awesome empire that Whiteboy took over from you from years back. Also, Crafty would be lonesome. I'm just too young to hang out wif him, I'm more in tune with the younger set. ha ha ha ha I AM 29 after all! *coughs* Well not really, but I am a young spirit. My best to you. Jan |
Lorelei | Friday, August 17, 2012 - 09:54 pm Oops, I just remembered what my point was..... Despite the game changes and the changes in people, the game is what we, the players, make of it. No, it will never go back to when we thought it was fun.....the days of world wars, good natured rivalry of feds,,,,blah blah. I am not sure which aspect of the game you dun like, but I know that the vets will greatly miss you if you decide to never come back. |
Crafty | Friday, August 17, 2012 - 10:15 pm So where is Rob now? I thought he was still here just gone quiet. He owes me 100GC from a bet we had on Man City/Spurs. Lol, looks like I missed my chance to take it out of his northern ass. |
Lorelei | Friday, August 17, 2012 - 11:09 pm Crafty, Rob and I haven't talked or communicated since March or early April, I believe. So, I don't know. :-( I'm sorry. I do, however still maintain contact with Bobo. PS. Who ended up winning overall? The Spurs over Man? Thus may be why he has gone into hiding. lol I have to say your football is quite exciting. Rob MADE me watch the games while I was there over Christmas and New Years. lol |
Yankee | Saturday, August 18, 2012 - 04:10 am I do remember Kissofdeath actually and of course BoBo, I was more of a GR player although I was on WG some and originally started there. I had forgotten who I gave my empire too, did he do anything with it?
Quote:Despite the game changes and the changes in people, the game is what we, the players, make of it.
That's just it, I liked multiple parts of the game, and it was the interaction with players that made it fun. The only problem is W3C for a long time has removed all the incentive for interacting with other players. I can honestly understand the one secured mode country, that way nobody gets wiped off the map, but war is so limited there is no reason to form alliances or even be polite to someone. From the enterprise standpoint about the only way to wage economic war is raping corps when going public. Big Deal, no different than fighting C3's. Of course I never did get wiped off the map so I suppose I can't speak from experience on that point however, I did give away multiple empires during my time in game. I enjoyed building more than maintaining anyway. I spent a lot of time here, but fact of the matter is, from what I seem to be remembering, there are much better games out there. It was one thing when it was possible to build an empire that could actually resist an entire world, now it's simply seeing how much in assets you can build. I'll play until my time runs out you never know W3C might wake up but I saw them move towards this for years I doubt they are going to change fast enough in the time they've got to keep my attention. |
Kasper Quinn | Saturday, August 18, 2012 - 04:23 am It'd be fun if the game was made more for war, such as conquering large areas of land then defending them, even continent conquering. Like you sai Yankee, the games basically building up assets. Assets you cant even turn into gold coins and cash out anymore cus theres so few coins going around. I mean the games fun as it is, but alot could be done in order to make it better. I'd probally try to take over the whole world. But a problem with that is having to manage dozens of countries. Thats where 2 player systmes could come in. Name a real person a vice president, govenor, and have ranks in the army like Generals. Theres so much that could be done here to make it more interesting. Not to mention make the owners of the game complete millionaires. I wonder how much it would cost to buy into the game. If i ever get signed maybe Kasper Quinn will change to Game Master Quinn. RUler of the universe. |
bruts33 | Saturday, August 18, 2012 - 04:29 am i used to get 500b for a gc years ago now its under 100 |
Redman | Saturday, August 18, 2012 - 04:47 am Still kinda funny, despite Andy's response at that time, how most of the players of this game ARE in the US of A! Good way to alienate your customers with such remarks. |
Dr. Eggman | Saturday, August 18, 2012 - 04:54 am What happened to the customers always right |
Kasper Quinn | Saturday, August 18, 2012 - 05:01 am At least the games HQ isnt in Iran. But i like Andy ever since he reinstated my forum posting abilities. |
Dr. Eggman | Saturday, August 18, 2012 - 05:03 am Or North Korea Lol |
Kasper Quinn | Saturday, August 18, 2012 - 05:07 am Yea talk about censorship |
Dr. Eggman | Saturday, August 18, 2012 - 05:12 am Too bad to they probably don't even know what Google looks like. |
Putter | Saturday, August 18, 2012 - 05:31 am Homerdome said that? I just read the post it was andy that said that |
Lorelei | Saturday, August 18, 2012 - 05:47 am Yankee, I think that alot of us oldies lost interest when changes in the game made it difficult and expensive to war and when there were ever changing things to affect econ countries...blah blah. But some of us stayed, some left and came back....just hoping that what we enjoyed so much would be restored. It hasn't in the last couple of years. That was a game of old and I guess we have to move on from it. War was always the fun, exciting part of the game, imo. The days of raiding to gain what was it called....um booty. Your empire was used, I believe, in our FBC/3 Muskateers War on FB (FBC was led by Bobo and later became Nueva Vida when Bobo, myself and Blueserpent split from WGC.) It was put to very good use until Whiteboy joined the dark side and then ironically was one of the advocates for a change in how the war game was played...thus leading us to where we are today. I dunno if this news will make you happy or not. ha ha ha ha Actually they had ideas, it just didn't quite end the way they thought it would. War became way too restrictive. I also liked when federations played as a group. We had lots of fun, teaching new players..... just playing the game and having fun. Yes, a lot has changed. But I can say, overall if I ever just leave and dun come back, I can walk away with having become close to two very dear people to me, Bobo and Blue. So, really whatever injustices I feel I underwent in the game or what I disagreed with, I did come out the winner. I wish you happiness, Yankee. |
Anthony King | Saturday, August 18, 2012 - 05:49 am You deserved to get banned kasper, get the fuck off. stop trolling and trying to be so called big timer. what are ya. you are full lies and crap. |
Lorelei | Saturday, August 18, 2012 - 05:50 am Redman..... I used to have a mate, DougieBear, who had his countries/ceo named Soylent Green. Are you any relation? lol |

Orbiter | Saturday, August 18, 2012 - 06:14 am shrug |
Keto | Saturday, August 18, 2012 - 06:14 am Jan you are correct. The game now is designed to suck real money out of us players. The days of making real money,in game to support our empires are over. To try and maintain an army in a country is behind affordable. Even with a country that's able to afford a military, a player will need to make that country a money making powerhouse, which is next to impossible in todays game. The war game is dead, the war aspect of the game is dead because the gm designed it that way, so we will spend real money more often to support our individual forms of game play. I can go on and on but I wont for now, but I will have a big rant about the newer changes towards this game. |
Lorelei | Saturday, August 18, 2012 - 06:45 am It's cheaper to just chat. lol Hey, I have a question, Keto. How long before my single country tanks? I never do anything to it. Can it exist like that or will it disappear? Oh and is Redman, Dougie??? I just remember that name Soylent Green from years past. I forgot what his game name was, dangit. He was in our fed waaaaaay back when you and Jason were wif us. Dougie was his MSN name, not game name. |
Kasper Quinn | Saturday, August 18, 2012 - 06:46 am Come to chat woman! |
Crafty | Saturday, August 18, 2012 - 01:33 pm I thought solyent green was Ikis old country, No? I might well have got that well wrong. Yankee, whiteboy did become a very powerful warlord with your old empire. Him, EO, a few others, but he eventually overdid it and got himself chased off. |
Laguna | Saturday, August 18, 2012 - 01:36 pm Yes. Soylent Green was Iki's. |
Yankee | Saturday, August 18, 2012 - 02:42 pm I forgot I was on FB at the end. FB never amounted to much for me I don't remember who I gave GR too |
Lorelei | Saturday, August 18, 2012 - 06:44 pm Actually Soylent Green was Dougie's, I believe he gave it to Iki before he left the game. Iki was in our fed at that time. |
Redman | Monday, August 20, 2012 - 10:38 pm My Soylent Green was indeed IKI's. I don't know if someone had it before her or not, but it is indeed the same country that Iki-Ryo had, so she still lives on since I did not want to change the name. ps. I've made the attempt the get her to play again, but as her absence continues, I've failed. |
Crafty | Tuesday, August 21, 2012 - 02:47 pm I know Iki-ryo sama went off travelling, to improve her education I believe. Good luck to her where ever she is, she was an absolutely charming lady and one of my most favourite people in the chat room/irc. |
