lorditsyu | Sunday, August 5, 2012 - 10:55 pm Could a full member hold this voting or poll? Subject: Give Special Forces and Seals Unit more effectiveness. Detailed Description: Allow Special Forces and/or Seals Unit to 'kidnap' or 'defend' president in times of war. For example, if there's a PvP, one of the country in the war sent some SFs in the Capital, they could 'kidnap ' the president. If the defending country has its own Special Forces, they could act as Secret Service and defend the president. Kidnapping the president, or killing the president would reduce the military units fighting level, since they lost a very important Commanding Officer. Another effectiveness I would like to see given to the SFs and/or Seals Unit is allow them to act as 'CIA' agents, and scout. They would have advantages over Radar Planes, but disadvantages over Radar Planes too. |
lorditsyu | Sunday, August 5, 2012 - 11:47 pm Edit: Forgot to add some information upon review by players. When your president gets killed or kidnapped, your military fighting units do not get all of their upgrades removed, for example, it'll be only from 350Q to 300Q or so. And you will still be able to make war decisions, so you will not be locked out of the war. I should also add, the effect will only be temporary. Also, the Special Forces should be allowed to "destroy" Nuclear defense military base, or render it ineffective. So the country would be open to nuclear attacks. (Special Forces making nuclear defense bases useless won't be easy). Also, Seals Unit should have more effectiveness when attacking Navy units, they should be able to destroy carriers easier. In real world situations, any type of Special Forces are damaging to countries, and are usually a lot more effective in wars, than SimCountry portrays it as. |
Crafty | Monday, August 6, 2012 - 12:03 pm Yeah, US special forces and intel did a great efficient job of capturing Ghadaffi. (English sarcasm for those of you who dont know me...) |
Madoff | Monday, August 6, 2012 - 05:23 pm They got Saddam Hussein and Osama Bin Laden. Two out of three isn't half bad. |
James the Fair | Monday, August 6, 2012 - 07:15 pm lorditsyu is right though, there should be extra options with the special forces other than just painting the war map with them, but the idea for them to act as secret service to protect the president or just simply to keep law and order and stop unrest in your own country is a very good idea. |
maclean | Monday, August 13, 2012 - 03:15 pm hey Crafty, I didn't see the SAS getting their hands on Ghadaffi, either. Could it be we all just decided to let the Lybians clean their own house? |
Kasper Quinn | Monday, August 13, 2012 - 11:25 pm I think, over time, with many people having game systems, and other multi player online role playing games already setting the field, that the Gms could over time transition the game into a more Call of Duty type combat system when it comes to war. That will defintly bring in more paying members. Of course that will be extremely difficult |
