Marshal Ney | Monday, July 2, 2012 - 08:20 pm How to promote pvp while keeping protection out there for new players? Federation War level - remove war levels as a consideration in Federation fights. Any new players in a Federation have recourse to help from Federation members. Federation Requirements - in line with the above, require a certain game level for the prospective chairman to start a new Federation. That would ensure at least one member of the Federation knows what they are doing, and an avenue of help for all members. If a Game level is not desired, having to pay GC or SC$ to start up the new Federation could be used instead. (Having to either earn them ingame or purchase them - again in line with the same thought.) Federation member requirements - implement a system letting the Federation set certain limits prospective members have to reach to qualify for joining the Federation (I'm thinking Offensive/Defensive/Strategic Indexes or War levels.Other benchmarks could be instituted for Economic Federations.) Economic only players - no reason to attack these players - they provide a significant function in the world market and many other areas. However, if they are truly peaceful, they have no need to attack C3 countries. They can be purchased with GC's purchased or awarded in game. Changing requirements cooldown - in line with the above disallow taking a c3 for peaceful players. Implement a time requirement in each phase (peaceful or include defense) in how you are scored for country before you can change it back. That would still give an economy only player a shot at c3's - but with the disadvantage of being able to be attacked at some phases of his/her growth. There are wiser heads out there than mine. Hopefully they will come up with a better solution, or offer some suggestions to make this one better. Many thanks for your time and consideration, M. Ney |
Madoff | Monday, July 2, 2012 - 08:43 pm A suggestion: I suggest that you post your frequent suggestions in the Suggestions forum. The Suggestions forum is the best place for suggestions. The Gamemasters may or may not read each post of the General forum. But they probably maintain the Suggestions forum specifically to read suggestions, and to read comments to suggestions. P.S.: This is just a suggestion. |
Crafty | Monday, July 2, 2012 - 08:50 pm Madoff, I think your Suggestion that Marshal Ney keep his Suggestions to the Suggestions forum should also be kept to the Suggestions forum. Actually, I Suggest this Suggestion should be moved to the Suggestions forum too. |
Madoff | Monday, July 2, 2012 - 08:55 pm Crafty: My suggestion was a response to Marshall's post. My suggestion was not to the Gamemasters. Therefore, it would be illogical for me to respond to Marshall's thread in the General forum by posting my response in the Suggestions forum. |
Drew | Monday, July 2, 2012 - 10:23 pm interesting, but feds also help new players develop, as they get advice and find out how the game works. I feel like I'm in solitude playing the game even now, if I wasn't in a fed I'd be completely alone. |
Crafty | Monday, July 2, 2012 - 10:47 pm lol Madoff, lighten up dude, a touch of bad British comedy never hurt anyone. |
Marshal Ney | Tuesday, July 3, 2012 - 02:39 am Madoff, I'd like some feedback on whether it is worth a suggestion to the GM before I submit it there. Hence the placement. |
Madoff | Tuesday, July 3, 2012 - 02:47 am The Suggestions forum is used both for suggestions and for feedback on suggestions. |
Marshal Ney | Tuesday, July 3, 2012 - 03:49 am Ahh, my apologies then. I'll drop it down there as my final gesture in the game. |
Christopher Michael | Wednesday, July 4, 2012 - 07:15 pm Madoff, this is directly for you. You consider yourself a vet; you need to have a bit more respect for others on this forum. What you did to Marshal above is unacceptable and inappropriate. While he could have placed his comment in the suggestions area, you are not the forum moderator. Let Andy do his job. |
Madoff | Wednesday, July 4, 2012 - 07:28 pm And are you a moderator trying to moderate me? Practice what you preach. |
Crafty | Wednesday, July 4, 2012 - 08:33 pm Was that a moderate suggestion or are you suggesting some moderation? Crafty'soderator'Cockney |
Madoff | Wednesday, July 4, 2012 - 08:47 pm Crafty, lighten up dude. |
Crafty | Wednesday, July 4, 2012 - 08:48 pm Huh? |
Christopher Michael | Wednesday, July 4, 2012 - 09:54 pm Well, I see we are going to have to agree to disagree Madoff. That's too bad. BTW, Crafty is only playing around. |
SuperSoldierRCP | Thursday, July 5, 2012 - 02:09 am Madoff is just another asshat that needs a butt kicking should i kick him, or maybe crafty wants to, you know ill go get wendy |
Tom Morgan | Thursday, July 5, 2012 - 02:48 am Maybe you can sell nukes to other nooblet asshats so they can kick him. |
SuperSoldierRCP | Thursday, July 5, 2012 - 07:00 am The Ten Sim-Commandments were originally written as a joke following the less than serious proclamation by John Fire claiming to be Pope of the previously non-existent Church of Simcountry. 1. Thou shalt not hostilely take another players corporations. 2. Thou shalt read the game documentation, though it appears out-dated. 3. Thou shalt not be an asshat. 4. Thou shalt not sell nukes to noobs. 5. Thou shalt not use sneak attacks. 6. Thou shalt not cuss at anyone except asshats. 7. Thou shalt not piss off veterans. 8. Thou shalt not betray one's federation. 9. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbors lands. 10. Thou shalt not disobey the Game-God for he wields the mighty IP ban. Follow these rules and play nice. Welcome to Simcountry. |
Tom Morgan | Thursday, July 5, 2012 - 09:54 am LOL thanks Super. Madoff, what worlds do you reside on? |
Madoff | Thursday, July 5, 2012 - 02:09 pm Thanks for your interest. Why haven't you learned how to figure out what world a player is on? Too busy using your credit card? Regarding the Ten Commandments, the Church of Simcountry did excellent work. However, I disagree with several of its doctrines. The Church opposed the share market, calling it evil. The share market has always been my favorite part of the game. The share market is a tremendous resource. Learn this: if one masters the share market, one rarely needs a credit card. The First Commandment, not doing hostile takeovers of corps, does not apply to corps taken over through share purchases. The Fifth Commandment, not doing sneak attacks, is completely wrong. Sneak attacks are a crucial resource. They're a more efficient alternative to the marathon clicking of conventional war. The Seventh Commandment, not pissing off veterans, needs work. One shouldn't piss off veterans unless one is prepared to handle the consequences. Sometimes pissing off a veteran is a ploy, a military tactic to bait him into war. Don't underestimate the value of psych ops in war. Conversely, smart veterans don't get lured into silly pissing contests. The Ninth Commandment, not coveting a neighbor, is also wrong. There is no better way to engage in ground war than from a neighboring country. The Ten Commandments weren't half bad. But it's wiser for each player to develop his own tradecraft. |
SuperSoldierRCP | Thursday, July 5, 2012 - 07:34 pm (thinks madoff is retarded) gives him 2months(atmost) |
Spiderman | Thursday, July 5, 2012 - 11:23 pm good gawd! honestly did a player out of the blue chastise someone posting in the general forum????? must be someone bored and with no life. lol this just gets more absurd . |
Christopher Michael | Friday, July 6, 2012 - 03:32 am Thank goodness I'm a smart vet...No pissing contest here. However, if one of my mates in the thread wants to nuke, hmmmmmm........... On the downside, reading his other posts, you guys would have to nuke a CEO, since in his statements, that's all he's got. |
Hanma de Hermania | Friday, July 6, 2012 - 03:47 am ...I wouldn't mind getting into a pissing contest with one of you veterans. Might be a great learning experience, at least in the aspect of war. |
Tom Morgan | Friday, July 6, 2012 - 04:12 am "Why haven't you learned how to figure out what world a player is on? Too busy using your credit card?" No, just too busy having a life #winning Bye byes. |
