WildEyes | Monday, April 30, 2012 - 04:58 am See, what you think most would miss guys, is one, they are putting a cap on the market price, as we cannot list them for what we used to be able to between 30-40B above and below the market value aka , we will never be able to move the market price again. which doesnt make it much of a market, or a market price if its been set, by the gold coins that came from thin air... Clearly, if you arent going to be supplying the people with GC, those without are going to be willing to pay more for GC..so its time for them to go back up to 350B per GC, either that or continue the suppliment to the market, otherwise, in one way or another, people will be livid. I couldnt care less but the issue of that, is I have all these coins I could be selling at a higher price now that the market is ' IN HIGH DEMAND ' not that ya know, supply and demand have anything to do with econ or anything :P but no..cant list them for higher than 79 or lower than 73. pfft. |
Quetzalcoatl | Monday, April 30, 2012 - 06:45 am I wrote about this all last week 8 threads to be exact on this very issue, your late to the party. Look at gold coin solution and every thread last week on gold coins. |
WildEyes | Monday, April 30, 2012 - 07:16 am No im not, since my vote counts 3 times yours :P |
WildEyes | Monday, April 30, 2012 - 07:16 am CALL ME LATE AGAIN lol :P |
Tom Morgan | Monday, April 30, 2012 - 08:30 am Enough of this. I'm bored of b**ching. WildEyes believes the 3 word story is pointless, yet all she can offer is more whining. Once more- half the reason people are leaving this game is because other players have created a culture which greatly exaggerates the negative feeling towards this game and its gamemasters. May I just remind you all this is a game. Nothing more. T (screw Bill O'Reilly; I am the No-Spin Zone ) |

maclean | Monday, April 30, 2012 - 09:22 am Now, now, chilluns... @Wild: I also have advocated this course a few times, and still cannot figure out why there is such resistance toward this solution. As you pointed out, the whole entire point is supply and demand. One other solution (albeit probably unrealistic) is for all of us as players to agree that GC price is 100B and set that as our standard for trade amongst ourselves. This would at least facilitate player-to-player trading so we can get on with business instead of spending our gaming time trying to track down elusive GCs I am currently using this method with another player, and so far it seems equitable for both of us. I invite comment, or other ideas. @ Tom M: I really enjoy the three-word and four-word stories; sure, they won't build me a corp, but it is one of the "fun" activities here. But I have to say that I disagree that players are leaving because of the culture of negativity toward the GMs. They are probably leaving because it is impossible (without connections, at least) to get any GC, which are not optional, but necessary to actually play the game. Well, unless you buy them for cash money from the GM. Try to buy population without GC, or shuttles, or... Yeah, it's just a game, but some of us have invested a lot of time and money in it and feel like we may have been bamboozled just a little. @ everyone in general: If we work together and not try to rip each other off, this can work. Also, when I said I invite comment, that doesn't mean I am inviting invective . If you feel there is too much negativity, don't read the posts that make you feel that way. You don't HAVE to read every topic in the forum if it gets you down. If this topic makes you feel discouraged, just skip over it. @ new players: most everyone in the game is glad to help a newcomer; don't be afraid to ask. I have received loads of advice and assistance, financial and otherwise, from many. >One last thing, then I'll get off my soapbox: It is possible that the only way to keep this game afloat is the purchase of GC from the GMs only. If this is the real reason, I hope they say so, so we can all know where we stand. |
Tom Morgan | Monday, April 30, 2012 - 12:44 pm I'm going to weigh in on the GC debate for a moment, then tune out... I've been waiting for people to buy my cash for GCs for over a week now. Obviously supply and demand is way out of tinker at the moment. I would like to see the GMs allow the market to be let loose for a little while, to see in which direction it goes. It's no use pegging GC value at $76B if GC sellers believe that their actual value is north of $100B- the system will not work and that has been proven by the current situation of massive sales of game money but no real demand. Furthermore, the ability to make game cash without the need to necessarily buy it or win it makes its value far less than something which cannot be produced, such as Gold Coins. Game cash is not used to purchase population, space stations, or anything that would give people an incentive to buy the currency for GCs. This means that unless the GameMasters make space trading a market based on game cash, there will never be a massive gamecash buyers market. People cannot rely on winning awards to get GCs- the GMs need to create a demand for game cash in order for these changes to work. Otherwise, many of us will be unable to pay the 30GCs a month needed to maintain our various empires and CEOs. |

Christopher Michael | Monday, April 30, 2012 - 05:25 pm "No im not, since my vote counts 3 times yours :P" (the fake) Wildeyes I think you have grand delusions in your head that you are the 'real' Wildeyes. Far from it. You seem to think much more of yourself than most players do. And by the way, YOU ARE LATE. This crap has been going on for at least a couple of weeks. Your statements are in fact a re-run. Keep up, or shut up. |
