SuperSoldierRCP (Little Upsilon) | Tuesday, January 10, 2012 - 10:18 pm 5. Redo corp worker levels Status: Please read our response [ top ] Detailed Description: There use to be corps(food/agriculture/mining) that never needed High tech workers and they become valuable to economies to prevent an overabundance of Low-high level workers. I would like to ask the GM to look into either reducing the amount of techies needed or bring back some of these corps. Some of the highest level corps use to many techies leaving a lot of workers in the dust and unable to be used. Space shuttle corps use 32K engineers but 60K High tech seniors. This is much to many to be sustainable. Also a Factory main unit corp starts needing 73K engineers when upgraded uses 100K Plus (30% of all workers in that corp are engineers alone). These high numbers drain the techies of a nation and leave large amounts of Low-high level workers. This reducing income(they take SS) and lowers employment ratings and with a lot of Low level workers in a lot of nations its hard to trade them. I think to help the econ model the GM should look into bring at least a dozen or so corps that are either "free" or use little techies(10K or less). Sand, Wood, Rice, Cotton something along those lines i believe would greatly help increase the amount of corps that can be made as well as reducing a lot of idle workers .( A sand corp needs 20K engineers my question for what?) Vote Yes to change Vote no to stay as is 31 gamers voted for the proposal. 4 gamers voted against the proposal. The proposal has been ACCEPTED. W3Creative reaction: The number of technical people needed for agricultural and food corporation should be, and is currently, much lower than the numbers in high tech corporations. The numbers are very high. This is because corporations are huge and we should keep them huge or otherwise a country will have to build 10.000 corporations wich is more realistic but unmanageable. We look into many countries and we see few problems with the availability. Once you know you need these people, it is easy to set education priorities correctly and produce them quickly. 12. No weapons restrictions on Fearless blue Status: Please read our response [ top ] Detailed Description: Because it is the war world and to help encourage war, I believe that all weapons(except nukes of course) should be sold on the world market. It makes it very hard to war nations farther away and to reach the higher war levels when you cannot obtain the large amounts of missiles needed to attack nations farther away. My suggestion is that on FB all weapons should be allowed to be made/traded freely on the world market, This would not only increase that ability to war but allow more corps to be made as there would be much more of a demand. Vote yes- to allow all weapons to be sold freely on FB Vote no- to keep as is 16 gamers voted for the proposal. 3 gamers voted against the proposal. The proposal has been ACCEPTED. W3Creative reaction: There are no limitation to the numbers of missiles you can purchase. You can purchase as many as you want withing your military spending limit and you can increase your spending limit by use of a booster. It will allow you to use 1000B more. The market on FB and other worlds too, may show shortages of some products. The only solution to that is to produce more. ------------------------------------------------- First about the worker polls what i was trying to convay to the GM is that some corps use -VERY- high amounts of techies to the point most new/old players have harder times running/supplying them with High Tech workers and 9 time out of 10 countries will end up with millions of Low Level Workers for econ players is this devastating as they lower Employment ratings and use huge issues in SS costs. Corps like Oil are essential but start using 40K eng, Factory maintenance units see 100K techies being used when upgraded.(that's 3-4corps of high tech workers) but increasing techies removes the LLW. 1FMU corp might higher 100K techies but leave 400K LLW employed. My point was that the Techies need to be lowered slightly. We are beginning to see the issues we had with High level Workers Before. Lowing the amount of techies by 10% per corp would MORE then compensate and allow people the chance to use up a lot of these LLW just sitting around. ---Next--- What i ment in this poll was allowing cruise missiles/con missiles to be sold freely. I wasnt speaking about the limits i was preference the restrictions. Makes no sence that we can buy stealth bombs freely but not cruise missiles. Andy would it be possiable to see these weapons be allowed to be bought freely on the markets? |
Crafty (Little Upsilon) | Tuesday, January 10, 2012 - 11:01 pm I disagree on both points. If you want the very hi-tech corps because they make large profits then expect to use lots of hi tech staff. You should work out the return per $ salary paid. If you think its unbalanced, dont build that type of corp...simples. Beside, the education system will accomodate these corps without leaving loads of unskilled. More often than not my problem is insufficient low workers. Secondly, a certain amount of reality is nice to maintain. In the case of these weapons, no where are they off the shelf! countries have to make deals (sneaky back hand deals or otherwise) to obtain these weapons, or build their own. You can buy a box of shotgun shells down the road, but ICBMs are a bit rarer. Conventional missile batts and missiles are actually considered as strategic weapons in this game, see the weapons docs. So, if anything, more weapons should be available only on contract, direct trade (or space if you must) or build them yourself. This is where the SC could come into play a bit more, I think it would be good for the SC to be able to monitor countries strategic programs. Hey, the US are very keen on telling Iran they cant have weapons grade (medical grade?) uranium. So really Super, personally I think your great energies and desire to make things better here, which I applaud, would be better utilised by trying to change the game from within rather than constantly making suggestions (most of which arent fully thought through) to the GM.
