Melchiades (White Giant) | Friday, December 23, 2011 - 10:36 pm I came to a rather horrible discovery today. I'll use one product as an example - high tech services. (On my server that's always in short supply.) I usually have all my companies sell to me, and I sell to them so they don't run out, then I sell the extra on the markket. I thought this would make a profit. It doesn't. Because of maxed quality I'm paying 3713 from the state corps that make them. When I sell to the corps, I noticed they are paying me 1240 (last price). This doesn't account for quality. No problem, my corps, let them get a break, but then I went to sell the items to market and usually I put best price. Since the recent items sold log doesn't work in this game (never has - why?) I never knew what people were paying me for them, so I tried to put a min price this time and make it over the 3713 I paid. It won't let me put more than 2480 (double last price). Can't countries sell based on quality? Am I losing my shirt by buying my own products and selling them? Have I been doing this wrong all this time? Why then would I contract full production to my country from my corps if it is cheaper to just take your chances with the market? And most importantly, when my corps are selling to the market, are they getting prices based on quality, or are they just getting that from me? Thank you. |
Crafty | Friday, December 23, 2011 - 10:50 pm Sold on market, you can set price to what you want. Generally market price increased by quality plus a bit on top. You've found out that is less profitable to self supply stuff but it does have advantages of guaranteed supply and local trading increases your score. Any prices you are seeing for selling from your country are the basic market value (100 quality, maybe 120 now dont know, dont make any difference) but you will get paid that price increased with the quality of what youre selling, but you dont get to ask the extra bit on top like corps can. Recent sales/purchases logs only show contract and direct trade transactions |
