Mephistopheles (Little Upsilon) | Sunday, November 6, 2011 - 02:34 am I changed all my supply quality to 170...I come back with all my country's set at 150....changed it to 170 again....5 mins later, its back at 150 again. Anyone having trouble with this...or am I getting targeted by the gm? |
Mephistopheles (Little Upsilon) | Sunday, November 6, 2011 - 02:45 am It did it again...just finished changing it back, then went to check them all again and 3 of them turned to 150. |
YourOnlyFriend (Golden Rainbow) | Sunday, November 6, 2011 - 05:45 am I had this problem once. I changed it and looked back nothing reset. But you've peaked my interest. I'll look and let you know. |
YourOnlyFriend (Little Upsilon) | Sunday, November 6, 2011 - 06:57 am All seems well on my end. Not sure what is going on for you. But may I ask you what would make you assume the gm is 'targeting' you in particular? Seems a bit like a stretch don't you think. I would make a bet that you have beginners economic protections turned on, or that you have a condition in one or more of your countries triggering it. Happened to me just now, I had a country on GR with that setting turned on. I have half of a million unemployed High Tech Engineers as a result lol. Check that setting. |
Tom Morgan (Kebir Blue) | Sunday, November 6, 2011 - 12:08 pm On the subject of GMs targeting people, how come my country, which just IPO'd off 3 corps about a day ago, lost some $400B in one month? I hadn't bought schools, supplies or anything to do with the military... Whats more, the graph says I still have that $400B, but the Cash Avaliable says I don't, which means I lost that money half-way through a month. Conspiracy, me thinks. W3C loses money so they 'claim' someone elses. Its a long shot, but I can't think of anything else. Please explain. Cheers, Your 'eye-in-the-sky' pal, T |
Mephistopheles (Little Upsilon) | Sunday, November 6, 2011 - 03:29 pm it did it again. Next morning it's all set at 150 salaries. Time to sell countries now....done playing this game. |
Mephistopheles (Little Upsilon) | Sunday, November 6, 2011 - 03:30 pm Sorry not salaries, supply quality |
Mephistopheles (Little Upsilon) | Sunday, November 6, 2011 - 04:30 pm I messaged the gm about it...I hope that this non-sense stops soon. It is getting aggravating that you set everything up perfect and a major setting keeps changing that determines if the country sinks and swims. |
Keto (Fearless Blue) | Sunday, November 6, 2011 - 04:32 pm try changing the settings under the automatic settings page and the corporation page |
Mephistopheles (Little Upsilon) | Sunday, November 6, 2011 - 04:45 pm The automatic is set at 170. But there is something going on.....all my trade strategies are changed to tanking settings.....even thoes have been messed with |
Crafty | Sunday, November 6, 2011 - 05:33 pm You should also check corp settings in corporations > manage > (option you want). You get a list of all your corp settings in one and be sure to click the set now or confirm whatever it is button. You probably know this already. Its just like a double check on top of going through each corp seperately that has worked for once or twice when things seem to get 'stuck'. The automatic settings page is for new corps, the other I just said about is for existing corps. |
Mephistopheles (Little Upsilon) | Sunday, November 6, 2011 - 05:40 pm Automatic settings are set at 170Q for supplies. My corp page now reads 170Q for all corps after changing it back from 150Q, 15 times each country. I keep checking...it hasn't changed back yet....but it will probably will back to 150q. I know that there is something going on....can you explain why all my country's settings were set to tanking settings... I set it once and save the settings....sell at 30% above and when it doesn't sell drop 15%. All the corps were selling at 15% below market price...hence tanking setting....I am keeping an eye on all my country's settings...if this countinues without it being solved. I have no choice to sell everying and cash out threw gm or players. |
Crafty | Sunday, November 6, 2011 - 05:56 pm But did you look at the page I suggested? |
Mephistopheles (Little Upsilon) | Sunday, November 6, 2011 - 05:59 pm Yes I did crafty....watching all my settings today. |
Mephistopheles (Little Upsilon) | Sunday, November 6, 2011 - 06:03 pm What do you mean by stuck exactly? I have just noticed this recently in the past week that these settings kept changing for no reason. |
Crafty (Fearless Blue) | Sunday, November 6, 2011 - 06:17 pm Thats what I mean, when settings haven't changed as you have set, I have known them to appear to get 'stuck' at the old settings. It may just be upgrades going on, heavy server load, I have no idea. It'll fix itself though. |
Mephistopheles (Little Upsilon) | Sunday, November 6, 2011 - 06:29 pm But my old settings was 170Q and I never changed my old trade strategy. |
Mephistopheles (Little Upsilon) | Sunday, November 6, 2011 - 08:15 pm This was the response I got from the gm. Cashing out might be a good idea. Check in the trade menu, for order quality. This was in the game news. You can decide on supplies quality for each product the country uses. I have seen 120 in one or two countries. Same with corporations, I see 170. I do not know in which country it happened. A new manual on Tuesday, will explain all interventions. I do not think this happened here as game level >3 And no cash problems. The quality of the products in the country and corporations takes a long time (a week or so) to get to the requested quality because both the country and the corporations have products in stock and qualities are averaged with new purchases. The gamemaster |
Mephistopheles (Little Upsilon) | Sunday, November 6, 2011 - 08:30 pm My problem was the setting its self, not the current quality of supplies the corps have already. I had it set on 170Q for all corps in my empire....But it keeps on changing to 150Q....I changed the setting for the quality of supplies that the coutry needs to any sence someone said they might took the average of 170 and 120 to get to 150. But its odd that all my trade strategies change also to 10 below market price and decrease 10 each month....My old settings I used was 30 above and 15 decrease each month not sold. |
YourOnlyFriend (Little Upsilon) | Monday, November 7, 2011 - 07:05 pm Quote: Cashing out might be a good idea.
If a player is confused or has convinced themselves that they are confused, that kind of response is something a gm who cares should never type out to a customer. That is really sad. |
Andy | Monday, November 7, 2011 - 07:49 pm The last thing this player is, is confused. he has been here for years and cheated everything that moves. We had mail exchanges with Mephistopheles. we told him why it happened. He is a "new player", less than 90 days in the game. Our response: Cashing out might be a good idea was triggered because this player suggested that we are trying to remove him from the game and he suggested that in that case, he should cash out. This player was known in the past under a different name, did something wrong, changed the name and came back under this name with a new account. He is convinced that we want him to go away and this is why (he thinks) we MANUALLY change his country settings. The truth is, that until today, we did not know about this new identity but the mails we received, yesterday, came from the same old email address. So this is how it works: In the first 90 days of playing, we are supporting countries unless the player turns automation OFF. Once you turn automation OFF, there are no interventions. When you start a new account, and you think you know better than the automatic support functions, the best you can do is to turn the automation OFF. last but not least: The automatic procedure, if active, is invoked once per game month. This is once in a couple of hours, not once in 10 minutes. We would like Mephistopheles to refrain from practices he used in his previous life in the game and only speak the truth. A detailed document describing the automation functions will be added to the game documentation with the next upgrade, tomorrow, Nov. 8.

Akkadian (Little Upsilon) | Monday, November 7, 2011 - 08:54 pm I was having similar probs with my trade strats resetting so its not just Mephistopheles. Just 1 of a few minor issue I've had recently. Like not hiring to 100% when I had the workforce in supply for months. Ceo's only building 1 corp when I had the boosters but still charging me for it. Radar planes not been bought for nearly a week now and the market is green. There's more but thats all I can think of for now. I've had the auto system off from the minute I had this country so it cant be that. |
Andy (Kebir Blue) | Monday, November 7, 2011 - 10:29 pm Many countries have interventions but none of yours. you passed 90 days yesterday. before 90 days, there might have been. I looked at the graph showing the number of corporations in the enterprise and it increases more than 1 in a single month several times. so maybe it does work. I can check our logs but the graph is in fact clear enough. if you have any problem with radar plane, mail us and specify the country. there are no problems with any product unless there is shortage on the market or no match for your order. we log all changes in the automation so if you have any intervention in your countries, mail us and we will be able to exactly see when the automation is turned on or off. |
Akkadian (Little Upsilon) | Monday, November 7, 2011 - 10:47 pm The booster worked some months others it didn't. I recon they worked for 2/3 of the 5 months for the last 3 boosters I bought. Im online at the time there turning so I know they didnt work. Im also buying up corps which wil effect the graph. Andy what are the automation trade strats? Mine was resetting from the 30% -10% I wanted to -10%+10%. That can't be the automation trade strats is it? My countries with the radar plane probs are. Kusko,Ratoo,Arak and Morana. |
YourOnlyFriend (Little Upsilon) | Tuesday, November 8, 2011 - 12:29 am Yeah forgive me Andy for intruding I was speaking in a general sense and not so specific to this precise issue. Not exactly sure what is going on here, but that statement did appear odd to me. Thank You for the clarification. |
Andy | Tuesday, November 8, 2011 - 09:17 am The setup of new corporations, with or without a booster, depends on the availability of a production facility that is always purchased when a corporation is set up. check the docs. This is as old as the game. if these are not available on the market, setting up corporations will stop, with or without boosters. if the setup does not proceed, the booster is not used. also, check the automation and interventions document that will be added today. |
Akkadian (Little Upsilon) | Tuesday, November 8, 2011 - 02:50 pm Forgive my bluntness here Andy but the response's from the GM are suggesting im a complete idiot. Telling me to check production plants and turn off automation trade strats isn't very helpful. Infact it winds me up. This account may only be 90 days old but I've played the game alot longer. I know how it works. The countries had production plants and the booster was getting used. I seen it with my own eyes. I dont just contact the GM willy nilly you know. I looked for all other possible explanation's then I contact the GM as a last resort. |
Andy | Tuesday, November 8, 2011 - 07:08 pm Akkadian, I looked at your account and it is less than 90 days old and this is also how it is treated by the system. I don't know, nor does the system know, that you played it before. In any case, if all conditions are met, the boosters work. never had any problem with it for years and I saw them working when I looked into the country. I hope it works for you now. please let me know if you have a problem. please specify the world and country so we can quickly check and see for ourselves and check the logs to see what really happened. |
Akkadian (Little Upsilon) | Tuesday, November 8, 2011 - 07:23 pm Yes there working now. It was only happening for the first couple of days after registration. Anyway im happy now its sorted. |
