Products switching to "immediate order" (Little Upsilon)

I have suspected for awhile that products switch to an immediate order when they have not been delivered for a long time. As such, I have checked my "pending deliveries" several times a day in countries. In the country "Battle of Wits" on LU, I have also been ordering a batch of Off Mid Range Missiles that maxes out my military spending. There is a large deficit in the number produced so it takes a long time for delivery. Because of this, my pending deliveries show multiple instances of requests for this product. This morning, I see my pending deliveries ALL are now "immediate" orders for these.

Mid Range Missiles 3988 immediate October 24 2847
Mid Range Missiles 29623 immediate Sept 02 2848
Mid Range Missiles 40386 immediate Sept 11 2848
Mid Range Missiles 22275 immediate Oct 21 2848
Mid Range Missiles 27727 immediate January 29 2849
Mid Range Missiles 17064 immediate Feb 19 2849
Mid Range Missiles 22508 immediate Feb 19 2849
Mid Range Missiles 5330 immediate March 18 2849 -646,821

I know I am low on missiles, but I still have some. Even if it wanted to auto-order some like it appears to have on March 18, 2849, why would it change all of my past orders to immediate? Now I either have to cancel all of these or accept that I will spend Trillions and get almost nothing in return. How can the auto-system change the orders that I manually entered over the past RL week? I do not need nor do I want those orders to be immediate. I have other ways of getting that ammo without spending a Trillion $ to get a couple 1000 bullets.
And the most frustrating thing, I will now have to spend the next week placing those orders again so I can hope to get the ammo before I run low enough to make my orders immediate again.

Just to be clear, after taking the MRM out of my LRD's, I have almost 70,000. I DID NOT NEED NOR DID I WANT MY PREVIOUS 7 ORDERS TO BE IMMEDIATE ORDER OF THEM! There was no need for the auto-change of all of my manually entered orders. Is there any explanation for this? Had I not cancelled those immediate orders listed above, I would have spent 8-9T and received about 20-25K missiles.

The above totals look closer at a quick glance to 160k missiles.

You could try setting a fixed maximum price when ordering instead. The game doesn't change them.

As far as I understand it zen (I recently wrote gm about same problem) the orders will be turned to immediate if you become in defecit of them. You say you were getting low... are you certain you didnt go below 0 briefly, like setting up more LRDs or something.

David: It would have been 160K missiles if the orders were completed as requested. The immediate buy would have given me the maximum spending space for that allotment at the highest possible price. I would get around 3000-5000 missiles with each order that way. The game did change those orders to immediate. Why would I place 8 immediate orders over an almost 2 game year period?

Crafty: I thought I may have gone below 0 as well, but I checked my recent purchase orders and had none. I had the one new immediate order that month. The night before I had created those LRD units and taken a C3. I had almost 4000 missiles still in stock. I disbanded 2 LRD units this morning when I saw it, and I have over 70,000 missiles now.

There is no reason at all for the game to change the orders that I manually place. If I go below 0 or get low, then auto system should do just what it did--and place 1 immediate order for the goods. It should not adjust every order I have placed over the last 2 game years. My order strategies for those goods are my business--not the auto-systems. If I am concerned that it took 2 years to fill, then I will make changes to how I place orders.

it doesn't matter, if you have no weapons why does the country order ammo for weapons you don't have?

I have eemailed the GMs and this should be fixed as it has been in certain countries within my empire

When things are placed on immediate orders (auto or mannual), you get the whole quantity but the over-spend will be carried over to the next month, meaning less to spend the next month or even nothing and so on etc.

I would guess those 4K missiles got put in supply units before you disbanded the LRDs, leaving you with a negative balance. Dont know why the game doesnt recognise stuff in supply units, but this occours often, see other threads. Then you disbanded and the 70K showed up. Meanwhile your orders got turned immediate because of negative balance of missiles.

I'm only suggesting this as a theory and I'm not arguing the rights and wrongs of any rules here, just trying to understand so as to know how to get around/avoid it.

Crafty: Thanks for the explanation. I can see how that happened. I guess I just don't think that manually entered orders over a real life week should be turned into immediate for any reason. Those are orders I placed and I should have the right to decide how they are filled. The system had already auto ordered 5000 on immediate buy. It could have done that every month if it needed to. There is still no reason to change all of my other orders. LU has a shortage of 500,000 units for MRM's. Of course it takes a long time to get them when you place a normal order. Now, I have to re-do all of those orders and wait another week or so.
