Hey everyone,
I remember there being a vote to create different types of Governments within the game, each of which has its own pros and cons.
The vote (I can't remember when it was) was accepted (23/3-Massive Majority) and the GM said it was under development.
Is this still going ahead, because I would love to see something like this implimented. It would add an entirely new dimension to the game.

And I'm not railing Tom, I'm just gonna say be careful what you wish for. The addition of govt types that matter could be another useless/retarded/limiting mechanism that will further deteriorate the already deteriorating satisfaction this game had achieved in a past sim-lfe

There are many things the game could add but hasn't yet due to budget issues. It takes a shit load of engineering hours to add all the bells and whistles we want. (And the gamemaster agreed to add.)

I don't think that government types mattering would be a good thing. Otherwise, you'd have someone try to be the U.S., a global policeman with a huge debt and a huge military.

Government types would be good for the game.

Create production (+/-) modifiers.

Democracy: Make more profits but harder to declare war.

Facist: Easier to War with others, but less profits

And so on...

If you think it costs and arm and a leg to add or fix things in SimCountry you are naive.

SimCountry is run like someone's pet project and less and less like a business. This would more likely explain why some things get done, and some of those things take forever to get done. Do you know who w3c Creative is? This is more like an experiment or hands-on lab for students of programming which is why things get introduced, then go wrong, then the real programmer comes and fixes the mistakes.

Oh EDIT:None of these errors need to be a part of SimCountry. Remember Omicron or that other phantom "Test World" you'd see population offered from every blue moon or so?
