Sunday, May 29, 2011 - 10:55 pm The player exchange rate for gold coin is dropping fast. I believe a few different things contribute the most. *One being that alot of newer players don't know about partial ordering so they put coin up for sale at a lower price than they are being sold for (sometimes with multipal offers of one coin). *Two, other players try to take advantage of the above and flash the top of the list with single coin offers @ or lower than the price offered for coins. *Three, over under cutting best offer at high volume. The buyers trading volume is high, sees the above, then decides it's time to offer less.

Monday, May 30, 2011 - 09:20 am Tommi is one of the GMs, synicus. I'm definitely not complaining as they get cheaper.

Monday, May 30, 2011 - 09:47 am I see, thanks. I think he acts more of a safety cork. We have the power to change, but in reading the other threads I see only a few folks care about the price of coins. oh well, happy trading...

Monday, May 30, 2011 - 12:52 pm Wendy, I thought you retired. Change of heart? Are you wearing that bikini I sent you for the season?

Monday, June 13, 2011 - 02:51 am Another devaluation this weekend Tommi 250/263 spread Any predictions for the bottom? Maybe the gamemaster will create a new "space" currency. Question for my fellow nerds: What is the name of the currency used in: battlestar galactica? star wars? star trek?

Monday, June 13, 2011 - 03:25 am Credits? They always work. There needs to be seperate currencies for space and GC. Otherwise, I'm just going to jack up the price of my strat weapons a bit.

Monday, June 13, 2011 - 05:20 am My Gold Coins are still for sale LOL! @Maestro... AM I wearing a Bikini? Only in your wettest dreams... but, yes retired and annoyed.

Monday, June 13, 2011 - 10:25 am Maestro2000 in Star Trek they use "gold pressed latinum" or something like that. But only rarely and when trading with other species because mankind doesn't use money anymore in Star Trek ;)

Monday, June 13, 2011 - 03:21 pm oooooh wendy I justed crossed me legs.

Tuesday, June 14, 2011 - 12:09 am Exchange dropped again Tommi 245/255 spread.

Tuesday, June 14, 2011 - 12:44 am Looks like corporate partner and NiAi are pretty much responsible for dropping the price...

Tuesday, June 14, 2011 - 01:02 am It's all the gamemaster moving the price. (I'm not complaining.)

Tuesday, June 14, 2011 - 05:19 am Just buy my coins for real life cash while you still have the chances.....

Tuesday, June 14, 2011 - 04:16 pm Hey Wendy...Whats the price going for these days? Are you wearing the bikini I sent you?

Wednesday, June 22, 2011 - 06:31 pm Jan. 2008 20GC's = 16.5T June 2011 20GC's = 4.7T When will the madness end?

Wednesday, June 22, 2011 - 08:36 pm Exchange Rate move Jan 2008 825 = 1 GC (Per SSA above) Sept 2009 460 = 1 GC (When I started playing) Aug 2010 460 = 1 GC June 2011 235 = 1 GC

Thursday, June 23, 2011 - 12:54 am Psycho_Honey Tuesday, June 14, 2011 - 05:19 am -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Just buy my coins for real life cash while you still have the chances..... How much for your gold coins in cash.

Thursday, June 23, 2011 - 01:11 am Every time I try to buy coins, all I get is "Could not find a Game Money Request that you can still bid on." Is anyone else getting that, or should I just take it personally? Hugs and respect Jo

Thursday, June 23, 2011 - 10:55 am Jo, all GC purchases are done through direct trading now, you cant do them on the cash market. CC

Thursday, June 23, 2011 - 08:55 pm I will now offer GCs for 2T each. Everyone who wants to raise the exchange rate is welcome to bid.

Thursday, June 23, 2011 - 08:57 pm Awww there's a maximum...

Saturday, June 25, 2011 - 03:48 pm Maybe the exchange rate goes under 200 by the end of the summer.

Saturday, June 25, 2011 - 10:54 pm The exchange rate should be more open, and not be a fixed currency. it should function as a open currency market based on supply and demand.

Sunday, June 26, 2011 - 03:29 am There used to be some limited open market fluctuation under the old 2 system. We used to have the direct market free of Tommi and the "Exchange game money" market rigged at 460 by the gamemaster. The old direct market was fun to play around with. Only players traded here. I'd like to see that return. I suppose once the gamemaster lowers the exchange rate to whatever target they have in mind maybe we can see the 2 system again.

Sunday, June 26, 2011 - 09:44 pm Exchange dropped again Tommi 230/240 spread

Sunday, June 26, 2011 - 09:50 pm i see no point in you keep tellin e1 what they can all see themselves, it changes nothing. It will continue to drop. Whats your point?

Tuesday, July 19, 2011 - 05:39 pm It's stupidity. I won't be buying GM or GC from DT. Tommi is just lowering it every second. Waste of time. Maybe if it ever hits 400-1 again then i might start, but not anymore.

Tuesday, July 19, 2011 - 07:23 pm The US $ is now 69 Euro cents. I will exchange my US $ to Euros when I get Euro 1.20 as it was several years ago. On the good side, you can buy GCs much cheaper now. And we, Europeans, get $ 1.4 for each Euro and can purchase I-Pads for cheap and go to the US on vacation for half price. what about that?

Monday, September 26, 2011 - 03:02 pm Did Tommi change his name to Andy?

Tuesday, September 27, 2011 - 03:47 am When GCs first come into the game (I think about 4 yrs ago) the rate was about 1.6T per 1 GC. Of course, though, people's profits and spending are much less. Military spending is also much less. Wehn they first come out, Cyriac had 3kT in cash. Then they brought financial services in to push us into reducing the large reserves vets had built up. I make 600B a month from my main where as that could have been 3T in the past. The figures have changed dramatically over time. I'd only be concerned if I needed to buy lots of game money.

Tuesday, September 27, 2011 - 03:45 pm Woot! David, remember having to get a mate to sell you GC so you could lower your cash and then sell those coins right back from another world/country, so you could move $ around to avoid financial services and between worlds? Praise the direct trading page...

Wednesday, September 28, 2011 - 08:21 pm Current exchange: 150/153 yes the amount of SC$ you get for a gold coin has been decreasing for quite some time but over that time value of SC$ has been going up, you can buy a lot more for 1T$ now then you could before so the change is no where near as big as it seams. (personally I find this kind of odd because normally there is inflation and the value of $ goes down over time so its strange to to say hay $100 can buy you a lot more then it used to lol) I'm more interested in the gold coin to US Dollar exchange rate, has that changed much over time or is that consistently steady?

Wednesday, September 28, 2011 - 08:24 pm Exchange dropped again Andy(Tommi) 146/157 spread Trend is your friend. How low will it go? Investors take note.

Wednesday, September 28, 2011 - 08:34 pm what are you on about, its 150/153 spread right now not 146/157, also there is Andy and there is Tommi, is this game really only run by 2 people or are there more people behind the scenes?

Wednesday, September 28, 2011 - 08:45 pm He mean's what the GM's are valuing GC's at, not what the best deal currently is.

Wednesday, September 28, 2011 - 08:48 pm The GM's have a value set for GC? Whats the point in that supply and demand decide the price through the direct trading system.

Wednesday, September 28, 2011 - 09:01 pm OH! now I see it, andy has put large offers at 146/157 to keep it within that range, oh well that's a little disappointing I thought that the system was genuinely based on supply and demand Andy why are you devaluing GC? And why are you regulating the GC SC$ exchange rate, surely it would be best if it were a completely floated currency based solely on market forces? :P

Wednesday, September 28, 2011 - 09:06 pm The player "Tommi" is the GM The player "Andy" is the GM. Not too many real players can put 4,000 coin on the ask or bid on a consistent basis. Only the GM can do this. The GM sets the trading range and players trade around the number.

Wednesday, September 28, 2011 - 10:43 pm only a gm can do this?

Thursday, September 29, 2011 - 12:36 am Yes, Crafty, finacnical management was a lot more managed than than these days. I still find it amazing (althoigh I have only be replaying for 2 months) that we can just move game money in a couple of clicks.

Thursday, September 29, 2011 - 12:50 am ...on a consistent basis. Perhaps the exchange rate will go to 100? Any other predictions?

Thursday, September 29, 2011 - 02:09 am trend is your friend how low will it go? investors take note on a consistent basis the exchange rate will go to who knows as low as 31/57 any other predictions? needed?

Thursday, September 29, 2011 - 08:00 am I say it will stop at 100. seems like its a good number. one gold coin is 100B 100 gold coins is 10T.

Thursday, September 29, 2011 - 08:35 am As far as I can tell the GC/SC$ exchange rate is a tool the GM uses to regulate the SC$ money supply. As such if several people bought quite a few coins and the GM did not change the exchange rate there would be huge amounts of inflation in SimCountry. This is because if 1000GC are purchased and converted to SC$ that ends up with a nearly 150T SC$ increase in the simcountry money supply, that happening several times would lead to huge inflation, and since deflation seams to be the policy of the GM atm they are unlikely to let that happen. So father devaluation of the GC is likely if people try to transfer US$ into GC or if the GM continues their policy of deflation in SC$

Thursday, September 29, 2011 - 08:41 am Also, is there any way we can apply to help the SimCountry development team? I have a good understanding of the effects of market movements and changes in money supply and inflation on economic outcomes. I would be very happy if I could put any of my understanding of maths and economics to use in improving the game. Just thought I would float that as an idea because regulating the markets in this game has a lot of finely balanced maths involved and input from players may be able to improve the regulating process.

Sunday, October 2, 2011 - 08:41 am Exchange rates have dropped lower. 1 GC buys 140 billion SC$ Wonder how low it can get before people say the money isn't worth all those gold coins?

Tuesday, October 4, 2011 - 07:40 am Personally I can't figure out where they keep getting the coins >.<

Thursday, October 6, 2011 - 11:21 am They buy 'em with real cash probably, it's one of the ways the game makes money.

Sunday, October 23, 2011 - 11:10 pm Tom fitz, that response has to go for post of the millennium award. Did you even give two seconds thought before responding lmao.

Monday, October 24, 2011 - 09:41 pm We could set the rate at 100B=1GC right now, if we all stuck to it. We might as well do it and get it over with. That being said, I'll buy all your gc's for 101B each right now.

Friday, November 4, 2011 - 02:19 am Andy is not Tommi. They don't convey ideas in a near similar fashion. Or he may just be good at masking his identity. All things considered I cannot reasonably conclude that Andy is Tommi.

Thursday, November 17, 2011 - 05:26 am Advertising! oh Noes! MEMBER CONDUCT
I think any low thrown advertising attempt on a potential competitors forum will not likely gain you any support. I assume you would expect your own members to abide to your terms and conditions? Cool map graphics though! (Steal it SC devs!)

Thursday, November 17, 2011 - 03:28 pm RagingPencil I played Simcountry for 7-8 years, since 2001. After years of advice and waiting for them to fix the game... making my own ;). Simcountry is bleeding players anyway. This game used to be packed, now its bullshit.

Thursday, November 17, 2011 - 03:34 pm Sounds interesting. I'll be sure to check it out on release.

Saturday, November 19, 2011 - 06:12 am I've suggested that w3c make-over the graphics for almost as long as I have been playing. In a world full of immediate gratification junkies, graphics are King and would quickly overshadow the more serious shortcomings of the game and add to its once famed lure. But who in the hizzelle am I, don't mind my drool.

Saturday, November 19, 2011 - 10:27 am Agree with Wendy- this place needs a makeover. /me flicks spiderweb off face.

Saturday, November 19, 2011 - 10:29 am @Riamund, I'd be careful with the name, as it is used by a certain SimCity Franchise owned by a well known company called EA. Apart from that, it looks awesome.
