rep (Little Upsilon) | Saturday, May 28, 2011 - 07:31 am It's probably somewhere in the docs, but here's a heads up for new CEOs: If you buy an Air Transport corp for your enterprise, look real carefully at the country because you CANNOT move it! I bought one, and it's a slave country of an asshat President. 75% tax rate and a welfare rating of like 80. Finally got things ready in my country, went to move the corp, and wham! Message comes up: You can't move air transport corp because the President needs it for his airport! Arrrrggghhhh! |
WildEyes (Fearless Blue) | Tuesday, May 31, 2011 - 05:19 pm lol @ them being the asshat, you are the one who probably purchased their corps without asking... so in response: WARNING TO NEW PLAYERS: purchasing corporations with your CEO's in Active players countries (where it shows above the name of the country on the country page no "this player was active within the last week/month" is considered inactive. if the players main country is inactive. always ask first, some encourage ceos to buy their corps, some will have your heads for it, just be sure to ask ahead of time in player controlled countries prior to bidding on them! |
rep (Little Upsilon) | Tuesday, May 31, 2011 - 07:03 pm WildEyes, It was a gamemaster corp. I've been here before (in '08) so I definitely know the 10 Sim commandments. Your advice to the noobs is spot on. If I'm not mistaken,I think there's a rule about not being able to buy a private corp until you've been playing for 40 RL days. |
Crafty (Kebir Blue) | Wednesday, June 1, 2011 - 08:16 pm Me wonders if you can close it... |
rep (Little Upsilon) | Wednesday, June 1, 2011 - 09:14 pm Could, I suppose, but the situation has been slowly improving. I'm turning a miniscule couple hundred mil profit monthly, but air trans is one of those products that has a deep redline. One of the few left on LU right now, so I'm reluctant to let it go if I can possibly save it. Just a bit of caveat emptor for the future, and a lesson learned. Which at my age is something that doesn't happen often! |
