Jonni Gil | Thursday, May 5, 2011 - 10:05 am 1. Shuttle Automation Shuttle automation is now implemented in Simcountry. As of today, it is possible to specify transport missions, with origin, destination, product name and quantity. The transport will start as soon as one or more shuttles are available and will continue until the entire mission is fulfilled. If multiple cargo shuttles are available, they will be used to speed up the transport. It is also possible to specify multiple missions and they will be taken care of in parallel. All shuttle movements and actions are logged and details of the execution are available. 2. Space Trading Some products are already trading on space stations and their number will increase. With easier transport and much reduced manual management of the cargo shuttles, space trading can become an important function in the trading of products between the worlds. All nuclear weapons and materials, and in time more products will be traded on space stations only. 3. World Specific Products Some products will become world specific. This means that they will be produced on a single world or two worlds and not on all worlds. The world specific products will include current existing products and some new ones that will be introduced into Simcountry. 4. Nationalizing Corporations Countries can decide to nationalize private corporations. We have recently seen that sometimes several such nationalizations are requested by the same country while it has no cash to pay for them. This can lead to large cash shortages. We have now added a procedure that will check if the country is able to pay for the nationalization. If not, the nationalization request will not be carried out. |
NiAi (Little Upsilon) | Thursday, May 5, 2011 - 10:21 am Jonni, regarding 1) Does goods only taken from the actual space centre and delivered to the other space-centre (no touching national stockpiles)? I have experienced some goods disappearing while moving em thru this automation system. |
Scarlet (Fearless Blue) | Thursday, May 5, 2011 - 11:12 am Okay. There is a bug.
| Product Name image | | Quantity | | | Origin (From) | | | Target (To) | | Loaded / Delivered | | Status | | Precision Bombers | Precision Bombers | | 10,000 | | image | SGR 001 on GR | | image | Blue Moon on FB | | 1,050 / 750 | | | | | | Transport Aborted | | This page listed me as having dropped of 750 Precision Bombers. However, I checked the space center and there was only 75. The products have disappeared entirely from the shuttles. Note: SGR 001 is located in Fire Bayonet on GR and Blue Moon is located in Liliths Shadow on FB.
| Product Name | | Space Center Stock | | Country Stock | | Close | image | Precision Bombers | | 75 | | 2,063 | | image | Strategic Bombs | | 60 | | 0 | | As of this point in the message, I'm waiting for the other 4 shuttles to land. I inspected the shuttles and they are confirmed to load 75 bombers each so this appears normal. Oh dear. The abort was reversed. There is another bug. If I click abort, the transport should be aborted. Those four shuttles "unloaded," but nothing was delivered. However, this would seem to indicate that the error in the bug may be that it only unloads the first shuttle and every shuttle thereafter in the automated transport is bugged in that they unload, but the products disappear. EDIT: Okay, I aborted the automated move and aborted each shuttles mission individually. Hopefully it stays aborted this time. EDIT2: You GMs owe me 975 Bombers @ 166 Q. EDIT3: I'm going to leave my shuttles floating in space right now until I hear back. They better not try circumventing my abort order again. |
Jonni Gil | Thursday, May 5, 2011 - 11:40 am @NiAi Goods only move from space center to space center. The national stockpile is not touched. This can also be found in the new Space documentation! @Scarlet An engineer is looking into this problem now. Thanks for the quick find, we are trying to solve it asap. Jonni W3C |
NiAi (Little Upsilon) | Thursday, May 5, 2011 - 11:51 am Thx Jonni for looking into this. Its been irritating to see much of the transported goods disappear. |
Scarlet (Little Upsilon) | Thursday, May 5, 2011 - 11:53 am Okay, I'm only jesting about being angry . . . I figured there would be bugs after it was just released. |
RoboCop | Thursday, May 5, 2011 - 12:22 pm @Scarlet Problem fixed. Added 975 bombers to Blue Moon Space Center. 750 bombers are still in your shuttles. Thanks for reporting! |
RoboCop | Thursday, May 5, 2011 - 12:33 pm @NiAi Problem fixed. Added 121,000 missiles and 3,000 bombs to your Space Center. Thanks for reporting! |
Josias (Kebir Blue) | Thursday, May 5, 2011 - 04:02 pm must say tht my initial reaction, is that this is great!! better than i expected, and smoother. i really like how shuttles kinda act like supply units now. this has added an interesting twist to the game... thats very, very cool. thanks allot |
Scarlet (Fearless Blue) | Thursday, May 5, 2011 - 04:25 pm I'm very happy about this as well. Very quick on the bug fix. |
Tom Willard | Thursday, May 5, 2011 - 05:27 pm Although the most urgent problems are now fixed, there are some more issues: 1. Too many shuttles are being sent to participate. Some remain empty. This will be optimized in the coming days. we are not aging shuttles yet until their use is optimized. This is very urgent. 2. Too many shuttles are painted, parked on the 5 worlds. You do not see the worlds any more. we will change this and paint only your shuttles and the ones that are on a mission. it will also make painting the screen faster. 3. we will test with more frequent repainting so that movements will be more frequent and steps smaller. 4. buying and selling of shuttles and managing the space centers will be easier to find and accessible from the space program menu. 5. The space center page will be improved to always show what is in the space center and the number of units per product plus totals. 6. shuttles will fly following each other instead of moving all together in a cloud. Currently, most flights are between worlds and obviously, redistributing products between empires. we assume that price differences for products between worlds may start to kick in as a reason for transports. as product trading will start moving for some products into space stations, there will be also more travel between the worlds and space stations. |

Lorelei (Fearless Blue) | Friday, May 6, 2011 - 07:09 am Uggggggggggggggh space! Prefers to be grounded than up in da clouds. :S |
Josias (White Giant) | Friday, May 6, 2011 - 07:46 am had #2 been done, it would have made space trade allot easier while we waited for automted shuttles. still, this is a great improvement, as i've almost finished moving 400M ammo upgrades off where they were stuck on KB. i love this. what a great feature!! |
Tom Willard | Friday, May 6, 2011 - 10:47 am We will check any possible losses made yesterday and fix them. you do not need to tell us what was lost as we can see all the details of wrong deliveries made yesterday. we do not have any such problems any more. |
Scarlet (Kebir Blue) | Saturday, May 7, 2011 - 05:07 am Maybe add an option to "cleanup" finished or aborted transports from that pop-up that lists transports (like for relief resources). Unless they disappear automatically after some time has passed. |
Josias (White Giant) | Sunday, May 8, 2011 - 06:28 am hey, how about some sort of teaser about space war, tell us something about what its going to be like? how its going to work, what kind of weapons and armor? are we going to get? something !?! |
Scarlet (Fearless Blue) | Sunday, May 8, 2011 - 10:52 am Oh, they disappear automatically. |
SuperSoldierRCP (Little Upsilon) | Sunday, May 8, 2011 - 08:01 pm Tommi How long will it take to get all goods i didn't receive? I havent gotten them yet and i miss my goods |
Scarlet (Little Upsilon) | Monday, May 9, 2011 - 04:54 am Also, how about a "priority" mechanism like with relief resources? |
Josias (White Giant) | Monday, May 9, 2011 - 07:23 am yeah, a priority system would be really cool |
Synicus (White Giant) | Monday, May 9, 2011 - 08:17 am Space system curently lags then freezes for me. Can't even launch. |
RoboCop | Monday, May 9, 2011 - 12:11 pm @SuperSoldierRCP: Fixed. I have added the missing products to your Space Center. |
SuperSoldierRCP (Fearless Blue) | Wednesday, May 11, 2011 - 06:22 am Tommi Can you fix a Glitch thats been around forever. For some reason attacking a bordering C3 is 2-3times harder for some reason for example. Your attack has been launched. The unit Gunzburg of The United Kingdom of Bandora lost 87 interceptors. Gunzburg lost 1 or more trucks, gasoline and military supplies. The United Kingdom of Bandora lost 75 soldiers and 269 were wounded. The unit Jaspar of Firebase Phoenix lost 488 fighter planes and 1000 attack drones. The attack may have been reduced or eliminated by Anti Missile Missiles and the unit did not receive any ground support. Jaspar lost 1 or more trucks, gasoline and military supplies. Firebase Phoenix lost 2077 soldiers and 6561 were wounded. The United Kingdom of Bandora defense was assisted by the Rockton unit. Your attack has been launched. Crafty | Wednesday, May 11, 2011 - 06:15 pm What are you saying SS? Surely even you arent noobish enough to not realise that you need ground support for neighbour countries. The only 'glitch' is you.
Quote:Can you fix a Glitch thats been around forever.
Errr... how would you know, you only just got here yourself... Stop shouting so much SS until you have found out what you are talking about. Regards, Crafty. |
Scarlet | Friday, May 13, 2011 - 11:13 am Quote:The attack may have been reduced or eliminated by Anti Missile Missiles and the unit did not receive any ground support.
Not a glitch. EDIT: Oh, wasn't the first one. |
