Thursday, April 14, 2011 - 05:13 am There's been a massive drop in the price of gold coins thanks to a rise in competition. The lowest price for a gold coin right now sits at only $0.99B over the amount that will be paid for a gold coin. Just putting it out there, guys - if those prices keep dropping, you won't be able to make a profit soon enough. Perhaps it would be wise to agree on a price and just all sit around that. Right now, Tommi's asking for $291B; how about that? I just think that this ceaseless undercutting is going nowhere fast.

Thursday, April 14, 2011 - 05:17 am Wow, that happened quickly. Someone either bought up all that coin or you all retracted your offers. In any case, problem solved - I think.

Thursday, April 14, 2011 - 08:41 am Haha, Blueserpent. Edit: Price will keep dropping in either case since there are far more people looking to exchange GC for sim-cash than the other way around.

Thursday, April 14, 2011 - 01:24 pm The price will rise or fall depending on where "Tommi" wants it to be. There are no players in this game that can consistently put 8,000 coin on the ask or bid to keep a price at a certain level. "Tommi" (The gamemaster) is guiding the price down. The exchange rate was 460 in August 2010 and has been heading down ever since. Before that it was fixed at 460 from September 2009 thru August 2010.

Thursday, April 14, 2011 - 01:54 pm Maestro, I hope you're aware that the exchange rate has been falling drastically for real years. I not sure but I think at one time it was $1.7T per coin. I know for certain that expecting $1T per coin was reasonable at one point. In fact, it wasn't always the same for all worlds.

Thursday, April 14, 2011 - 04:56 pm My game history begins September 2009. Feel free to add history before that time.

Thursday, April 14, 2011 - 04:58 pm Why? what difference will it make? Maestro there is no problem with the trade system.Just because you dont like it, doesnt mean its broke.

Thursday, April 14, 2011 - 05:16 pm Yoda, Why the comment? Having a slow day? Not stating a problem on this thread. Just facts. The exchange rate goes wherever "Tommi" want it to go. This is fact.

Thursday, April 14, 2011 - 05:24 pm Why the comment? Like you tell everyone else, its a public forum. Everyone that uses trade knows exactly what the exchange rate is. What im not understanding, is your need to keep posting the rate its at. The facts as you say are there for all to see when they enter trade.

Thursday, April 14, 2011 - 06:11 pm There is no supply and demand economics at work with coin trading on the direct market. The gamemaster sets the price range. "Tommi" puts an endless supply of coin/game money on the market to keep the price range where they want it. End of story.

Thursday, April 14, 2011 - 07:25 pm Supply and demand works fine... Ask all the players who's coins i buy up and check out how many players are purchasing cash. Im sure Tommi is doing just fine, as i am. Your beef is with the price YOU cant get,not the system

Thursday, April 14, 2011 - 07:45 pm Supply and demand is set in an artificial trading range, rigged by the gamemaster.

Thursday, April 14, 2011 - 10:00 pm Broken record.

Thursday, April 14, 2011 - 10:16 pm Hmm, cash I have no problem getting, GC I have to spend on regs, Keep on falling Mr. exchange rate, suits me. Blue you git, had I got on earlier I would have had those suckers. (bloody northerns, coming down here taking all our jobs, buying all our GC... mumble mumble... )

You don't even try to think. Willard has mixed influences in the market, but right now he's keeping the price above. But even if he was gone, the minimum limit per GC is still above equilibrium.

Friday, April 15, 2011 - 05:08 am "Tommi" has complete control of the price range. If the gamemaster wanted, he could bring the price back up to 460 or down to 180. Not an overnight change but a gradual move like they are doing now. This exchange move has nothing to do with economic theory. No player in the game is going to put 4,000 coin on the ask and bid on a consistent basis. Only the gamemaster can do it.

Friday, April 15, 2011 - 05:54 am Do not dare to question the divine wisdom of Jozi or his messenger sent to the worlds, Tom Willard.

Friday, April 15, 2011 - 09:47 am Scarlet: "Broken record." Indeed. I think I read the same post four or five times there. Maestro is somewhat correct; if the GM has control over the greatest number of GCs, he can, to some extent, control the price. But who cares? I was concerned about the fluctuation of prices around that mean, as controlled by players, rather than Tommi's desired mean. As long as I can make money, it's all good.

Friday, April 15, 2011 - 11:25 am The only thing Willard does is define the range at which there is a market. If he only offered GCs at 410GCs, he would be the only frequent seller. Like now. The way is Down Argentina Way.

Friday, April 15, 2011 - 04:47 pm Maestro "No player in the game is going to put 4,000 coin on the ask and bid on a consistent basis. Only the gamemaster can do it". Not true, i can put 4000gc's to match him or the cash. Why should i? just to please you?

Friday, April 15, 2011 - 07:37 pm Yoda, How much can you make day trading 4,000 coin? It's not worth it these days. There isn't enough volume in the market.

Friday, April 15, 2011 - 07:57 pm WHAT ARE U CRYING ABOUT??? 4000GC = 1.6QUADTRILLION im ok with that lol

Friday, April 15, 2011 - 08:01 pm Maestro, i dont wish to play the trade market with coins and cash. I make plenty ingame and buy up coins. I refer you back to my original point. Its all about YOU not getting the price YOU want

Friday, April 15, 2011 - 08:28 pm Yoda, Your a long term player. Why would you want to buy coin if you already have 4,000+ coin and you don't day trade coin?

Friday, April 15, 2011 - 09:05 pm Im the SC magpie...they're shiny Why shouldnt i amass coins and cash?

Friday, April 15, 2011 - 09:25 pm I said coin, not cash

Friday, April 15, 2011 - 09:27 pm Magpies (IPA: /ˈmæɡpaɪ/, SAMPA: /"m{g%paI/) are passerine birds of the crow family, Corvidae. In Europe, "magpie" is often used by English speakers as a synonym for the European Magpie, as there are no other magpies in Europe outside Iberia. That bird was referred to as a "pie" until the late 16th century when the feminine name "mag" was added to the beginning.[1] Magpies are believed to be one of the most intelligent of all animals: the European Magpie is one of the few animal species known to be able to recognize itself in a mirror test.[2]

Friday, April 15, 2011 - 10:01 pm Maestro, without the cash, i cant buy the coins. So i amass both. Im done with this convo. Its far easier talking to a brick wall than you, i would get more sense from one

Saturday, April 16, 2011 - 12:07 am Talking to me or chewing a brick? Either way, you're going to lose your teeth.

Saturday, April 16, 2011 - 12:48 am Yoda, So knowing the gamemaster is still pushing the exchange rate down, you would accumulate excessive coin? I think not. And don't give me the crap argument that you can put 1,100,000 gamemoney up for sale on the direct market but choose not to. Rubbish. You aren't in the business of taking a loss for the hell of it are you? You can't fight a tsunami and thats what the gamemaster is doing with with the exchange rate direction.

Saturday, April 16, 2011 - 01:29 am Willard is keeping rates up. This isn't a debate. It's a fact. Amidst all those multiple, senseless posts, not even a shout out for La Gazza Ladra? Shame.
