The GM needs to stop messing with the markets.

PERFECT EXAMPLE!!!

There's only 1corp on LU making Fortifications and the market is jumping by the Hundreds. This manipulation lowers the cost of forts making it harder to sell and profit from. I'm all for the free trade markets but if there's only 1corp don't add more of the item let people make corps. Notice there's 1corp this corp should be making a a great income but instead the price per fort is below base...

Am i the only one who thinks this is wrong?

I completely agree. SC's economy can easily self-regulate, the GM just needs to stay out of it.

How do you know there's only one?

Because of these reasons

You cant sell fortifications once made and when you have them you have to destroy them to get rid of them. Destroying them removes them forever and doesn't resell them. So unless that one corp is making 100times it normal production its the GM. They do it all the time take a look at the number n the amounts offered in a lot of cases there's hundreds if not thousands offered when only a few corps are there

Eli, I think the answer to your question is this:

You can click the name of a product (I think) in the Setup new corporations page to find out how many companies are producing the product (along with supply and demand statistics).

How about this:

"Gamemaster, are you adding extra Defense Fortifications to the world market supply on Little Upsilon?"

Try reading the docs. W3C point out that they do this and explain why.

"When we intervene, we never add or remove large quantities of products and we never change a shortage in a surplus or a surplus in a shortage"

But yet they add hundred's or a thousand forts, bases, weapons. ECT

You have answered your own question.

One corp building what? 100 forts a year.
50 noobs sign up and buy 80 forts each.
Where do they come? The game fairy?

now if YOU was to build 40 corps of your own, making forts...there wouldnt be as many shortages.
But you arent gonna do that are you :)
