1. The Quality of Military Units

The maximum quality of weapons and ammunition in military units is increased to 250. Also the maximum fighting level is increased to 250.

This increases the quality range and allows for the creation of high quality units. The maximum quality will be increased even further in the future.

2. Financial Services and The interest on loans

The current interest rate on loans used to be 30% per real year. The percentage is far too high. We have started to reduce this percentage and it now stands at 29%. The rate will decline gradually to reasonable levels. It may end up at 10% or lower.

At the same time, we have also started to reduce the amounts paid for financial services in countries that hold large amounts of game money. These rates will be reduced further and in time will disappear altogether.

3. Moving Corporations

We have promised to eliminate the cost of moving corporations if some conditions occur (recent game news). The change should have been activated already and was not finished on time. We hope to be able to install this function by the end of next week.

4. Game Documentation

Several user manuals have been upgraded and some new manuals have been added to the set. More changes and improvements are expected in the coming weeks. The next additions will include:
Military Units and Supplies and
The Quality of Units and Weapons

5. Chatting with W3Creative - Jozi Chat

Simcountry will add an IRC channel and open it for all players. All future chat sessions will take place on the Simcountry IRC channel. We will increase the frequency of such sessions.

The first date will be announced after the installation of the IRC server.

Closing corporations

I'd like to see this added in an update. Players should be allowed to close corporations fee free. Ceo corporations pay 40% resource fees every game month. This is enough.

Please eliminate the closure fee.

Moving fee free

Why not just eliminate the moving fees?

Why do ceo's move corporations?
1) Country tax rate is too high
2) Worker shortage
3) Country asks ceo to leave (Kind of ironic to have to pay a penalty fee here)

CEO's normally don't move corporations for other reasons. If a country has a tax rate of 30% or less and available workers to keep full employment, ceo's will keep the corporations there forever.

Moving is frequently for one of these reasons and some times part of an econ. war.

if the president is doing good and supports the corporation with education and lower tax rates, he should be compensated.

I'd like to see max unit quality at 250. Why should it need to go higher. And if it does, say up to the max production you can get, doesn't this pose a major threat to new players ever getting into the war game? It take far too long to become profitable and sustainable to produce and maintain your own stockpiles of high quality weapons. This only serves as a multiplier to the already way expensive price tag associate with wars and their weapons and ammo. YIKES! It doesn't seem practical in any event to try to mass up weapons and ammo because it will become too expensive.

EXP when your talking 250Q that's AT LEAST 2.5T for 1000Bombers ALONE...

Possible solution

Increase production of weapon/ammo upgrade corps 200-300% that way they make much more of them and if your making 2-3times more the price will drop massively. Right then your getting a better deal. Your getting 3upgrades for the price of one you pay now.

You post the numbers for the interest rate, but don't do so for Financial Services? Financial Services were 0,2% of the cash on hand. What are they now?

Financial services were at 0.25% and now down to 0.24%. (countries).

For enterprises it is similar and will decline too.
(did not decline yet, will be updated today).

When Financial services were introduced, they were at 0,2%. Good to know they were increased. What is the amount of cash at which they take effect?

Econ war?

How many players have every been involved in econ warfare?

What is econ warfare?

If a country has low tax and available workers, I'd keep my ceo corporations there forever.

If a ceo player moves when the country has good conditions, it's real easy for the country to build and replace the corporations lost or invite other ceo's to fill the slots.

Free market should rule

You dont understand Maestro because you have no social inter-action within game. You dont fight wars, have inter-fed power plays or have any understanding of the depths of the game except your little pile of worthless shit sitting in your account.

If a group of players decided to remove all their corps from your country in one go it could cripple that countries economy, if it were several countries, well... And they might just do it out of spite and it would be regardless of war-levels, WP or anything else.

So yes, it seems W3C have it right with the new due update, and your own selfish mis-informed narrow 'everyone should play maestro's way' point of view is invalid.

In short, shut the hell up and play the game.

And another thing Maestro, remove your corps from my countries or I shall be nationalising them.
See, like you, I have quads of cash and coins to do so, but unlike you I dont mind spending some to do something worthwhile.

to back up a minute, to point out something about fighting levels...

with now, 250 fighting levels. it will take forever to create a garrison, and upgrade it to max, add in the cost of 20-30 garrisons, for the cities, and bases. AND throw in the quality effect of nukes... new and small players don't stand a chance of defending themselves...

Oh so we agree 250 should be a top then Josias.

And when the hizelle are we going to play chess? I've been busy, I'm sure you are too. Maybe you wanna log in for a tourney. There is a 5 minute tourney at 9:00 or 10:00pm EST. If you're available, we could both join that tourney.

"If a country has low tax and available workers, I'd keep my ceo corporations there forever."

I'd like to say this is the easiest thing to combat. Waaay easy. Lots of players and a group of players that didn't exactly warm up to Wendy left many low salary corps in her country in order to tank her econ.

But this actually helped in two ways once I started to fight that.

First of all. You only need to run your own state corps with slightly higher salaries than Maestro's corps, usually 200-300. So 325 Max. High Salaries for state corps isn't exactly a bad thing. In most cases it works great for state corps.

Assuming you are using most of your workforce, once you see a very small shortage of workers, build an equal amount of corps to the number of Maestro's corps, and watch the workers walk away from his corporations. In the shortage of workers, the lowest quality corps will suffer first. In this case usually Maestro's.

Works every time. And if they are heard headed like Akasha was at the time, they'll allow their corps to suffer hiring shortages and continue adding cash to keep them from imploding. While understaffed their low salary numbers work towards bringing your average salaries down and reducing costs without draining your workforce.

I'd call that a double whammy. Maestro is not really a Maestro lol.

Crafty,

Sorry to light your fire today.

Was just asking a question.

Thanks for your explanation of econ warfare. My countries have a high percentage of my own corporations state/ceo owned so outside ceo divesting would have a nominal effect on my country economy.

Most of my social time other than bulletin board posting in simcountry is with new players and not with veterans. Ask 100 new players who has been the most helpful veteran and my name will be on the list.

In player controlled countries I usually have salaries in the 300 - 400 range. Though I do have a handful of corps with a 200 salary level. (These are corporations in c3's or used to be c3's.)

I have also taken over several corporations from the gamemaster. In these corporations I've usually left the salary level the same unless it was super high.

Cheers from New York City

Maestro = aspiring veteran. Usually, in 99% of cases i encounter self designation of veteran indicates the exact opposite is true. I've been playing 3 years and have much to learn and improve on even still. When another few respected veterans call you one, then you will know you are a veteran.

The 100s of newbs you think you are helping are all Wildeyes masquerading and pulling your strings. I bet they pm you one after another for no apparent reason huh? She does that kind of thing.

wendy, we'll play chess, i don't like super fast games. shrug

as far as the quality levels, i have mixed feelings. the higher it goes, the more it favors, first heavy defenses, second long time established players. but at the current level of 250, their is no way that a new player can defend themselves.

its considerably easier to build high quality nukes than high quality garrisons.

currently, it takes 1 real month, on LU, to upgrade your garrisons to max, assuming that you have enough upgrades, (not going to happen,) so nukes WILL get through. and at this point, it does NOT matter the quality of weapons that are put into the garrisons. so it doesn't matter what you do, for probably 6 real life months, a player will be undefended, while they poor money into an endless upgrading whole. making the attempt at self defense pretty fruitless.

back to the statement... if a player feels they could survive a war they might start one... sadly, i don't see that ever happening.

over all, i like the fighting upgrades, i don't like how some things will change, but i can adjust. i just wanted to point out, that we've kinda passed the advantage of upgrading fighting levels. as they are going to start making the war game unmanageable, for any one that actually wants to war. but honestly, it seems like thats the point

I think they should up the fighting levels to 400

370fighting (to match 370Q)
plus 30 extra upgrade points.

Look at the US military its the best and most advanced in the world but you know its not cheap.

As stated before Garrison upgrades take A LONG TIME which i totally agree takes FOREVER. When you talking a garrison of 200locations, Air wings, Supply units, and everything else it takes a long time. In honesty you should upgrade a point per game day that's means going from 100Fighting to 400Fighting would take 300game days (10game months). Each supply unit can upgrade one garrison, any unit. So it would take only 2-3 real days for it to max. With this extra increase a country could go from 100Q to 400Q in a matter of 1Real week.

Other issue is cost of upgrade. Again i vote for them being upped in production 200-300% increase lowers the costs 2-3 times less. You get 2-3times more for the same price. Also the degeneration of fighting level is terrible. Once upgraded it should stay there it should lower thought the course of battle not by sitting and being maintained in a base

A lot of which is why we should be able to BUY high Q weapons in the first place, using the order strategy form.
Until it is modified, click, click, click and buy and keep your high Q stuff in your enterprise, it doesn't depreciate there. The extended wait of decs becoming active makes it more viable to transfer stuff in if needed.

Sorry if this was ambling off topic, I just felt like sticking my oar in again.

The items in the game news all seem good modifications to me.

(with the side comment of: Tom, please keep watching how the unit quality thing is going, and listen to players reports on this, its not a simple matter for me to know what to upgrade and how much, let alone the actually doing it, keeping them upgraded, and I have experience, money, and vets to ask for advice. I feel sorry for newer people.

for some odd reason I have to pay to move a corp in a country when the hiring is around 50%

Quote:

You have chosen to move Purna Advanced Effectivity Pro. It is currently located in Crosslines.

Please note that you have to pay 5% of the Market Value as damage to Crosslines with a minimum of 5 Billion SC$. Given the current Market Value this means you pay 83.81 Billion SC$.

Production last month was limited due to a lack of workers.
