Tom Willard | Tuesday, March 1, 2011 - 04:19 pm 1. The Quality of Military Units The current situation around the quality of military units: The quality of military units depends on the quality of the weapons and ammunition that are part of the units. Other materials do not have an influence on the quality yet. The initial quality of the unit is set to 50% of the initial average quality of the weapons and ammunition that were used to setup the unit. The quality of both weapons and ammunitions in the unit can be increased by the use of weapon and ammunition upgrades and the fighting quality of the unit depends on the average of the weapons and the ammunition. When receiving supplies, each movement of weapons and ammunition between the country stocks and any unit, including the supply units, causes a 50% reduction of quality when the weapons are moving into the supply unit and also, an averaging of quality between these weapons and the supply unit itself. The averaging is again used when the weapons are moved from the supply unit to the military unit. Planned changes: The quality exchange between the weapons and ammunition that are bound to be transported to a military unit with the supply unit will be stopped. The quality of what the supply unit is loading for transport will remain unchanged when the weapons and ammunitions are delivered to the unit. The top quality of weapons and ammunitions in military units is now already increased to 200 and the same applies to the fighting quality of the military units. The max quality values will be increased even further in the coming period and with this increase, we will phase out the reduction in quality when products are moved into units. While phasing out this quality break, we will reevaluate the production process of weapons and ammunition and the purchasing procedures. The production of high quality military products will become very profitable as purchasing these products at a very high quality will have a major effect on the fighting capabilities of these weapons when they become part of military units. 2. Account Status Page A new page is added today and is shown (optionally) when you login. The page shows the current account status with up-to-date general data and some details on all empires. The account status page also includes a statement by the player. The page is initially visible for the account owner only. We will eventually add the possibility for the account owner to allow others to view the status page. A next version of the page with multiple tabs is being prepared. It will have many details on all the empires, countries and enterprises that are part of the account. 3. Moving Corporations: Preannouncement Moving corporations out of a country requires the owner of the corporation to pay the president a compensation for the damage to the country. In some cases however, the corporation should be able to move out at no cost if the conditions in the country are unacceptable. If taxes are higher than 40% the corporation will be able to move out of the country without paying any compensation to the president. Also, if there are worker shortages in any of the categories for workers in the country, moving the corporation out will be free. For this condition to be applied, the corporation must also show that salaries are at least at the government salary levels and that production in the corporation is limited because of a shortage of manpower. If these conditions occur the payment of compensation will be eliminated and corporations will be able to move out of the country without any payment of compensation. This change will be implemented within the next two weeks. 4. Contracts Several bugs in contracts were solved. Going over 100% of production is now corrected and contract cancellation was limited to one contract at a time. It is now possible to cancel all contracts at once. 5. Building Private corporations When an enterprise is setting up a corporation in a country which is part of the same account, confirmation by the president is now automatic. |
Psycho_Honey | Tuesday, March 1, 2011 - 05:05 pm Item #1 is wholeheartedly over confusing. |
ViC (Kebir Blue) | Tuesday, March 1, 2011 - 08:09 pm I agree... Would it make more sense to upgrade quality before it's sent out to the units? And maybe the fighting level should increase with experience of the unit instead of quality of the weapon. Any one can hold a state of the art weapon, but that does not mean that person will use it correctly. |
Parsifal (Kebir Blue) | Tuesday, March 1, 2011 - 10:00 pm also, it takes an inordiant amount of time to manually upgrade units. is there any way to speed this up? or maybe i just don't know how to do it. |
Danny Miller (Little Upsilon) | Tuesday, March 1, 2011 - 10:15 pm Fix the graphs please. Also, need to be able to auto order weapon upgrades. |
Blueserpent (Golden Rainbow) | Tuesday, March 1, 2011 - 10:33 pm @ Danny weapon and ammo upgrades have been on the auto order for mths. @ Parsifal You can check the set Q for your units and to auto upgrade. |
Josias (Little Upsilon) | Tuesday, March 1, 2011 - 10:37 pm as far as #1 goes. their explanation was very precise. but what was happening... you could buy say 3k bombers. all at 180Q. you could put them into a unit, 1710 bombers, and when a few of the get shot down... then the 1290 bombers left at 180Q would resupply the unit. but instead of the Q remaining the same. it would go down. even though the resupply was coming from the same batch as the original. you could start with a unit at 180 fighting level, and end up with it at 130-140, even though all the weapons that where put into it are 180Q. what they are saying is that they are going to fix that, so it doesn't happen. which i'm very happy about. (thanks serpent,) i've lost allot of money do to weapons and ammo down grading when resupplying. I took to airlifting used unit home to dismantle them, rather than let them resupply. This will save me allot of time, and money. |
Josias (Little Upsilon) | Tuesday, March 1, 2011 - 10:47 pm plus, unannounced, they added war levels to country main pages, when using the old style layout. such a nice addition!!! |
Red Dragon (Fearless Blue) | Wednesday, March 2, 2011 - 01:19 am GM brings all players who try to hide their war levels by using the old layout. hahahaha. I like this change |
Noproblem (Fearless Blue) | Wednesday, March 2, 2011 - 04:10 am Have you ever tried to upgrade manually and figure out the true costs involved? It's a little frightening if you have 100 forts, 25 interceptor wings etc. etc. etc. |
Serpent (Fearless Blue) | Wednesday, March 2, 2011 - 04:35 am Actually right now... until this is fixed it is a waste to buy high quality weapons to put in your garrisons. Because when they are put into a supply unit, their Q drops by a factor of two (1/2). Then their quality is again averaged by the quality of the supply unit, so unless you have very high quality supply units, the avg drops again. Then when the weapons that have already been drastically stripped of their quality is put into a garrison, guess what??? Apparently they again drop by a factor of 2. The only way to get high quality garrisons is by upgrading them with the weapon and ammo upgrades. At least thats my understanding of it. However you could buy high quality weapons and ammo and leave them in the bases till this is fixed. What I would like to see though, is for there to be a way to upgrade weapons and ammo that are sitting in strategic stock. Because as of now, unless they are assembled into a unit/garrison they cant be upgraded. |
Scarlet (Little Upsilon) | Wednesday, March 2, 2011 - 05:51 am Quote:plus, unannounced, they added war levels to country main pages, when using the old style layout. such a nice addition!!!
It's the little changes that are most awesome. |
Psycho_Honey | Wednesday, March 2, 2011 - 07:29 am High Quality weapons degrade while in stock. At the rate things usually move here, I'd bet that buying high quality weapons and waiting would be an even greater waste, than buying wp and sitting it out. WP can be free lol, along with membership. |
Tom Willard | Wednesday, March 2, 2011 - 08:59 am The quality exchange with the supply units will be removed because it confusing and does not make sense. however, it is not damaging in terms of cost. The supply unit ends up with a higher quality. If the supply unit has a higher quality, the transfer will increase the quality of the weapons it transfers. currently, increasing the supply unit quality makes a lot of sense, beyond its own fighting capability. |
Tom Willard | Wednesday, March 2, 2011 - 09:03 am Adding graphs to the new status page, brought an old error to the surface. It did not show up on our test systems before the upgrade. It was solved after we received the first message. |
Crafty (Fearless Blue) | Wednesday, March 2, 2011 - 01:09 pm Blue, weapon and ammo upgrades may be on the order strategy page but they dont get auto ordered regardless. I've asked GM about this, been promised fix and now waiting another response. I must add they were very apologetic about the delay, guess cause theyve been busy with the latest server changes and game updates. |
Blueserpent (Fearless Blue) | Wednesday, March 2, 2011 - 04:11 pm Im guessing its only certain accounts then, mine order and arrive as they should My only issue is auto upgrade on ammo doesnt always work.Has to be done manually Weapon upgrade seems fine |
Scarlet (Little Upsilon) | Wednesday, March 2, 2011 - 05:57 pm I'm not sure how many upgrades you're trying to order at once, but I think the spending limit still applies for order strategies. |
Crafty (Fearless Blue) | Wednesday, March 2, 2011 - 08:59 pm Hmmm, like my other post says, I didnt think I was exceeding spending space, definitely not with just the upgrade orders. I need to re-check the total value of orders, upgrades and all other things together. Question: are the upgrades considered a normal (non-military) product, I'm presuming so, or am I calculating based on the wrong spending space? Thanks blue, it probably is me then, I'll revisit the issue. CC |
Serpent (White Giant) | Wednesday, March 2, 2011 - 09:11 pm Ammo and Weapon upgrades are NOT considered part of the military spending space. They are in the same spending space as other products, roads, schools, etc... |
