If I decide to buy a successful country on LU, which was ranked # 01, can I get GC award for gaining # 01 or gaining through levels? You guys have some ideas for this?

No you cannot get level awards for an empire if you purchase or sell a country for 30 days. #1 award, I doubt you can get it, but I am not certain on that.

6 months before you'll get #1 award again I would think.
