I was in New York City that day.

At first I thought it was a terrible hoax. (Was listening to The Howard Stern Show)

A good friend of mine lost many of his coworkers.

What saved his life was he took the day off to fix up his house.

One thing I have noticed since 9/11 is New York City is an even safer city to live in when it comes to general crime. Mayor Guiliani had previously done much to reduce crime and after 9/11 with additional funding the city is an even safer place to be.
