Maestro2000 (Kebir Blue) | Tuesday, August 31, 2010 - 10:19 pm What is the new exchange rate? It used to be 460. |
Maestro2000 (Kebir Blue) | Wednesday, September 1, 2010 - 12:19 am Gamemaster is only offering 439 on the cash market now. Is this the new exchange rate? |
Laguna | Wednesday, September 1, 2010 - 12:36 am Yes. |
Maestro2000 (Little Upsilon) | Wednesday, September 1, 2010 - 01:09 am That stinks. |
Laguna | Wednesday, September 1, 2010 - 01:13 am I know... And it looks like it will continue to go down, with Willard dumping GCs on Direct Trade. |
Maestro2000 (Little Upsilon) | Wednesday, September 1, 2010 - 01:55 am Why is Willard allowed to dump coin on the direct market? That means the game is dumping coin on the direct market. Forcing the price down. Has the gamemaster done this in the past? I don't recall ever seeing it done. I also noticed the price of some goods are hitting new lows. |
Barrenregions (Fearless Blue) | Wednesday, September 1, 2010 - 08:50 am Yeah, The GC market is bad. |
Psycho_Honey (Little Upsilon) | Wednesday, September 1, 2010 - 10:20 am GM is like The Central Bank, they regulate and deregulate everything. Given things that have gone on. Maybe he wants to drive prices lower in order to allow playing the game to become cheaper, and allow players to enjoy 'playing' it more. Sounds messed up, but what good is a Game-God with no powers. That is like having Superman except he can't fly, or Spiderman with no Web, or even better, his Spidey-Sense. |
Laguna | Thursday, September 2, 2010 - 12:29 am Not even a Central Bank has a limitless supply of money. That's why George Soros is famous. This is a pointless maneuver. Reducing the exchange rate on the cash market was already enough to reduce the rate. Of course, with the merger of Cash Market into the Direct Trade, they can no longer bid a minimum price, therefore they can no longer influence the market. That is why I said it they should create a Cash Market that is similar to eBay's: it retains a minimum bid. Flooding the direct market is obviously their subtle way of influencing the exchange rate... But yes, God Powers entertain me. |
Tom Willard (Little Upsilon) | Thursday, September 2, 2010 - 03:01 pm Wow. we are merging the trading of gold coins on the cash market and direct trading as of this week. This was in the game news several days ago. please read the last two or three game news releases. The merging of the two has nothing to do with the "dumping" of gold coins. we think that game money is in fact dumped at a very low value and we have created a bottom. when all trading will take place on a single page, players will understand this bottom and will start trading game money at higher values. this is already happening and coins are bought not from us but from players. We will look more frequently into the total economy and what they call "money supply". we should make sure the worlds are not flooded with money and on the other hand they should not be short on cash. |

Yes? How many GCs have you sold, just for curiosity? No problem comes from oversupply of game money. Pointless to worry about that. |
Tom Willard (Little Upsilon) | Thursday, September 2, 2010 - 03:44 pm 5832 gold coins. many have been sold immediately for profit because of a market spread that went the wrong way. This is of course a simple thing to do and it corrects the market. |
Psycho_Honey (Little Upsilon) | Thursday, September 2, 2010 - 04:12 pm Now Tommi, my friend, you cut my wars off, and now you're stepping on my toes with this GC racket... I only want to off about 1500 please for teh luuv of Gawd quit selling coins! |
Tom Willard (Little Upsilon) | Thursday, September 2, 2010 - 06:23 pm I am sorry about the wars. there was no way back but it was a one time thing and it is I hope over by now. you can easily sell all the coins you want. we are not selling because there are others offering at 430B while we are at 435B. |
Maestro2000 (Fearless Blue) | Thursday, September 2, 2010 - 10:09 pm In the past on the cash market, the gamemaster would pay 460 per gold coin. Will the gamemaster now pay 437 per gold coin on the direct market? |
Psycho_Honey (Little Upsilon) | Thursday, September 2, 2010 - 11:11 pm Tom, I was joking lol. I'm just trying to find humor in everything that happens. |
Tom Willard (Little Upsilon) | Friday, September 3, 2010 - 03:21 pm We are offering GCs at 435B. some players offer them for less. What is the right price? we think game money worth more than it is now. In general this is how it should work: the total economy should be stable with some winning, some losing and the total value increasing slowly each game year. if the total is increasing faster, game money should decline in value. if the total is increasing slower or even decreasing, the value of game money should become higher. we think that the economic model will make more sense and can be improved with more functions, natural resources management and virtual assets with a value inside and outside the game if we make sure that the total model is stable and the rules as described here are kept. This will require us to intervene in the GC market and it will mainly require us to tune the economic model and prevent situation where all of a sudden everyone makes huge profits or everyone makes losses and goes belly up. Total values will keep increasing and winners will take larger portions than others of this growing cake. We will publish more on economic features shortly. |
