whiteboy | Thursday, July 29, 2010 - 08:40 pm I'm pretty positive someone who plays this game runs this site...was just wondering who it was? It's how I found SC and it's actually a really good site...was great following the elections in 08. Anyone want to raise their hand? |
Zentrino Lives (Little Upsilon) | Thursday, July 29, 2010 - 08:42 pm I don't run the site but I have gone to it for years. It is one of my favorites! Zen. |
Border C | Thursday, July 29, 2010 - 11:36 pm I followed that site daily during the 2004 and 2008 elections. I remember the site creator "coming out" after the 2004 elections saying he's a big liberal and he's an expatriot living in The Netherlands. |
whiteboy (Little Upsilon) | Friday, July 30, 2010 - 12:15 am Yeah, I thought he did a pretty good job of staying unbiased and was pretty accurate about the outcome of the election, of course that's coming from someone who is fairly liberal as well...so maybe I just thought so. He mentioned the game twice that I found with a Google search, once in 06 and once in 08. |
Border C | Friday, July 30, 2010 - 02:39 am Wow... that must be how I found the game too. I think that 2008 post was the same day I joined. At least the same week. Cool. I had been trying to remember how I had found this game. That must have been it. |
Border C | Friday, July 30, 2010 - 02:45 am I sent him an email to see if he still plays and what name he goes/went by. |
Laguna | Friday, July 30, 2010 - 02:56 am He's a friend of Jossi's. |
Border C (Little Upsilon) | Friday, July 30, 2010 - 02:56 am Figured. Did he really play or just advertise? |
Laguna | Friday, July 30, 2010 - 02:59 am He might have tried the game. I would be reticent to advertise something I did not enjoy. |
Border C (Little Upsilon) | Friday, July 30, 2010 - 03:06 am Could You Be President? "Do you think it is hard to be President? Maybe you could do it. Simcountry is a multiplayer Internet game in which you are the president, commander in chief, and industrial leader. You have to make the tough decisions about cutting or raising taxes, how to allocate the federal budget, what kind of infrastructure you want, etc. You also have to decide when to go to war and how to defend your country against attacks. It is very detailed and realistic. If you can beat the other presidents, you can win cash awards. Be warned, playing the game is addictive." Yeah, he got about 15% of that right. I'm guessing he didn't play much, if at all. But that bastard sure did drag me down here!!! |
whiteboy (Little Upsilon) | Friday, July 30, 2010 - 04:40 am How funny...wonder if anyone else got here the same way. 2 of us so far. |
Daelin (Little Upsilon) | Friday, July 30, 2010 - 08:30 am Now that I think about it, that's how I became aware of the game, as well! |
Zentrino Lives (Little Upsilon) | Friday, July 30, 2010 - 08:55 am I would bet that is how I found it as well. I follow his site daily during the elections as well. I keep checking it now to see if he will update anything. I guess nothing much happening now. |
whiteboy | Friday, July 30, 2010 - 06:44 pm That makes 4 of us...who is this masked man who has forced us into a life of clicking and arguing about war protection? |
Border C | Saturday, August 7, 2010 - 05:35 pm Bastard never emailed me back. Probably doesn't even remember what SimCountry is. I guess he wasn't *too* addicted to it after all. |
