Wednesday, May 5, 2010 - 01:03 am  Simcountry World News www.SimcountryWorldNews.com I am very pleased to announce to everyone that the basic functions for the new and improved SCWN website have been completed. I placed a stop on the news, per the last message on the forums because of the time consumption and strain caused by manually updating the news. NOW, I have programmed the site so that with one click, new stories can be entered, all links updated, pages and previews update, without human intervention...cutting the time needed to publish a story dramatically. This means a higher volume of stories can be added to the website with minimal effort! Note: The news is not operational. No need to register an account, as when the site starts producing news, the user accounts will be flushed. All stories in the new site are place holders for testing currently underway. uReport This will be THE MOST POPULAR section of SCWN. Why? It allows players themselves to post news stories in one click about their countries, enterprises, federations, etc! The idea came from iReport on CNN's website. Its focus is all about YOU! Remaining projects 1. User accounts/Reporter accounts (highest priority). 2. Adding/checking images uploaded. (Once this is done, the news will start back up, and the HTML version of SCWN will all be gradually taken down). 3. Programming "Da'Bloids" section. (Easy) Future Addons 1. Associated Press (Will allow other players that desire to have their own news network to publish news on SCWN...just an idea right now.) 2. SCWN Gamer's Guide. (Definite). High Priority. 3. SCWN's Video section (will host videos from SCWN staff and our users). Definite. Medium priority. 4. Search bar/results section (definite/high priority). 5. Classifieds section, where players can post recruitment for federations, common markets, etc. Definite/low priority. 6. Stats section, where all the stats will be organized and displayed monthly for all worlds, each month. Definite. Medium Priority. New purpose for SCWN SCWN will try to become not only the Main News Networking in Simcountry, but also the Voice of the Players to the gamemasters! Discussions will take place, in comments of articles, reactions can be judged, and full coverage and details of communication between the GM and SCWN staff will be transparent for all to see. SCWN is a place where your voices can be heard! CONTEST! PRIZE = 60 gold coins or $27 Trillion SCD SCWN is looking for an image logo. A picture logo, Something simple and yet stylish. If you have previously registered a user account, you will have to re-register. #3. Comments are now active. You may comment on any story you desire. You must login in first though, to protect against spam. uReport is LIVE! The, to be, most popular section of SCWN is now active! If you have a country, ceo, federation, common market and would like to report your news or share what your entities are doing, Log onto SCWN and create an account. It is very easy. Then post freely, as often as you like! post your stories freely, as often as you like. Recruit, report, etc. new stories may be produced within the week.

New Stories New stories are being worked on immediately! uReport uReport works like youtube, except instead of movies, its stories about your countries, enterprises, common markets, federations, etc. Register an account (make sure u make a new password so you can login easily). And begin posting immediately. There are many players who desire to post news stories about their countries, and many who like to read posted up-to-the minute stories by players. Have fun with it. Classified Section(Task timeframe: short) Due to recent demand, Simcountry World News will now host a Classifieds Section sooner than later. All visitors will be able to view the classifieds section, but only registered users will be able to post in it. Categories that will be available: Federations Post - Federation ads Common Market - Common market ads Sales - anyone selling ingame items Willing to Buy - anyone buying ingame items 0% tax countries - 0% tax ads (all ads will also be sortable by world, and all ads will auto expire 1 month from the time of posting, to keep them current, clean, and uncluttered.) Features for players that have registered with SCWN: a. will be able to respond to buyer through SCWN easily with a click. b. will be able to "flag" ads that are invalid, and flag posts where the country does not have 0% tax. c. a rating system may be instituted so that readers can see if the poster has done well in previous ads, or has a bad history. Simply thumbs up/thumbs down may be made. (NOTE: 0% tax countries that are flagged will be looked up in simcountry, and if taxes are not as advertised, then the ad would be removed. I will make it as easy as possible for SCWN users to use all features.) 2. User Account Inboxes(task timeframe: short) So that posters of the classifieds ads will be able to recieve messages from readers, and readers can respond to ads, a user inbox will also be added. Also, for users who post on uReport, you will be notified on your homepage if anyone comments on any story you post. You will also be able to see how many people have viewed your stories. 3. Gamer's Guide(task timeframe: medium) The Gamer's Guide will be a large task, and I appreciate all those who have offered help in making tutorials for the guide. The purpose of the guide will be to make it as easy as possible for new players and all players interested in learning to not only "do" well in simcountry, but also to "understand why". WE WILL SPOON FEED YOU! WE WANT YOU TO GROW! WE WANT MORE PLAYERS! WE WILL MAKE SIMCOUNTRY VERY EASY TO UNDERSTAND! Every question that can be answered will be answered! And if anything is unclear or unanswered, you will be able to let us know in one click, and we will update it! We will contact the Simcountry GameMasters for this also, because we will need updated information. Also, if you are logging in from somewhere that wont allow it, that may be an issue. But your account info is correct.

User Inbox User inboxes have been created. The Classifieds are here! The Classifieds, as has been promised, has been created. It is setup in a way that makes it 100% user active, and user friendly. In the classifieds, any Simcountry Player can Login to SCWN, and post an ad that updates immediately. Categories: www.SimcountryWorldNews.com/classifieds.php 1. Sales - Sale offers of weapons, and other economic products. 2. Buyers - Players willing to buy anything theyve specified. 3. 0% Tax Countries - A central location where you can advertise that you have 0% tax in your country, and many players can see it. 4. Federation Posts - Perfect place to recruit players to your alliances. 5. Common Market - You can also recruit for your common market. Features: 1. SCWN Inbox - When a player has decided they like your ad, they can click on it to respond to the Ad. They will be able to send you a message about the Ad, that will go directly to your Inbox. 2. Rating System - As is available at popular sites like Ebay, SCWN users that are logged in are able to rate any ad they have done business with, by clicking on thumbs up, or thumbs down. Whenever someone posts an ad, their rating will be featured in the ad.

| Sunday, May 23, 2010 - 02:09 am Well, its fixed now. I recently added some security, and changed the variable (which is the entered email) to something else. Just needed to correct it. | Wednesday, May 26, 2010 - 12:05 pm UPDATE: 1. When users login, they will have a list of stories that have been published available immediately since the last time the user logged in. So, if you login on monday, and then again on friday, you will be notified on the latter login of any stories that have been published since your last login. Users also have the option to dismiss the list. Even if the user does not dismiss the new list, the list will be dismissed automatically and updated on the next login. 2. Users who post to SCWN Classifieds, now have the added option to remove ads they no longer need. WE ARE UP TO 30 Players that have registered with SCWN! If you havent registered, register here Register Updates on the way: 1. Users who post to uReport will be able to modify their articles as long as their article was published less than 48 hours ago. 2. Users will be able to change their leadername, and title. 3. Flagging links will work, allowing the flagging of inappropriate posts/ads. 4. Rating system for stories: Piggybacking off of the rating system used in the Classifieds section, registered users will be able to not only view and comment on stories, but now will also be able to rate the stories with a thumbs up or thumbs down. 5. Messaging: Right now, users can respond to Classifieds Ads, and view messages sent to them from classifieds Ads. I am completing the inbox so that players will be able to message each other, as well as provide a search to find the player they are looking for. 6.Site Search Box: Also adding in a search box that will allow users, registered or not, to search the site for anything they are looking for. 7. Gamer's Guide: Already being built. It will feature an online encyclopedia, defining everything there is to know in Simcountry. It will remain updated, and we will update it with every game change. Gamer's Guide Preview When completed, registered Simcountry players will be able to ask any question they want and recieve answers from the site staff or other players who know the answer. Also, players will be able to contribute tips to playing the game.

I am saddened to report for the first time ever, the user community has voted on Dubletar's scandalous and irresponsible Site. SCWN is a site where the President Dubletar uses propagandist stories and fake, unconfirmed sources to spew utter nonsense to and about the community. And the Simcountry audience has weighed in. The site holds a poll, to determine the popularity and effectiveness of the site. And as of late, Dubletar's approval rating are flushing down the toilet. The latest poll results tell a more complete story. -------------------------------------------- What do you think of Simcountry World News version 3.0? LOVE IT!
