moosedude (Little Upsilon) | Tuesday, April 27, 2010 - 08:48 pm YAY SPACE STUFF IS FINALLY HERE!!!! IVE SEEN THE SUGGESTIONS FOR SPACE B4 AND I AGREE THAT ITS A COOL IDEA. HOWEVER, HOW WOULD IT WORK OUT WITH THE DIFFERENT SIMULATION RATES WHEN MORE FEATURES COME OUT??? WILL THEY HAVE TO DO A MASSIVE UPDATE TO ALL THE WORLDS TO GET THEM TO THE SAME SPEED???(I HOPE LU DOESNT HAVE TO SLOW DOWN.) |
Tom Willard | Tuesday, April 27, 2010 - 09:12 pm No need to change the world simulation speed. the space functions will run on the portal. space industries will produce products on all the worlds and produce cargo shuttles that will operate between the worlds and the space stations. space centers can be produced now and built in countries. Shuttles will always move at a certain speed and will not depend on the pace of world simulations. for now, the products can be produced and used to build cargo shuttles and space centers. next stage, within several weeks, we will release all the remaining features, allowing for loading and unloading of shuttles, trade of products on all space stations and of course, the flights of shuttles between all these places. |
moosedude (Little Upsilon) | Tuesday, April 27, 2010 - 10:37 pm o ok ya that makes sense, but in the future if features like interplanetary war are made it would be unfair for slower worlds because they cant produce $ and military units as fast as other planets |
Jee (Little Upsilon) | Wednesday, April 28, 2010 - 08:41 am I build one of these corporation several months ago and it is still waiting on supply delivery. Even wont buy the factory maintenance or other common stuff so i kinda advise all to wait a bit before going crazy :P . It looks like developers have locked the supply delivery for now i hope it is not for too long because thats a lot of high tech i have to pay for nothing meanwhile . Cant wait to go in space XD Jee~LU |
Tom Willard | Wednesday, April 28, 2010 - 03:39 pm Worlds are not the same and differences in production speed will remain. building up stocks and storing them in countries, enterprises and space stations will provide enough flexibility for anyone to develop their own strategies. The industries just started and corporations are being built. It will take some time for production to kick off but we will add some products to help the process. we did not start by adding products to prevent oversupply that is created by the gamemaster. we rather wait and see the demand and then add some products to reduce shortages, enabling the start of production without influencing the market price. This process is automatic and quite safe and was used many times before in similar conditions. we do not intervene manually. |
Matthew Patton (Fearless Blue) | Wednesday, April 28, 2010 - 10:36 pm start with something that don't require space products |
Kaymen Ultra Vires (White Giant) | Thursday, April 29, 2010 - 07:45 pm SEVERAL WEEKS!?!?!?!? All the space corps built will fold by then. So far this is looking like a disaster. You have to spend gobs of cash setting up corps that can't get supplies and that have no use, which means no income, for "several weeks" (which usually acutally means several months). |
SuperSoldierRCP (Little Upsilon) | Thursday, April 29, 2010 - 09:03 pm give us n overage of mining resources on LU everything in the red n nice drop would be more then welcomed |
Freitaz (Little Upsilon) | Friday, April 30, 2010 - 04:36 pm I'm with Ultra Vires here. We spend so much more money to develop these corporations in comparison to others and now we have to wait several weeks in order for the corporations to actually have a purpose... If just some consecutive days of market oversupply of any industry can make many corporations go broke, I imagine what "several weeks" will do to all space related corporations out there already. |
Psycho_Honey (Little Upsilon) | Friday, April 30, 2010 - 04:44 pm You all were told in advance that the space features would be installed in stages, over several weeks. When the announcement about certain aspects becoming available was posted, it stated that there were more features yet to be installed. Have some patience. I'm fairly certain that when the last bunch of new corps were added, there was a product missing which delayed production. When that happened, w3 did make an effort to re compensate the corps for lost cash, it still took awhile for them to become productive cash wise, but it was fixed and they are some of the better producing corps now. Just have some patience. Wait for the update or wait until it is finished being installed to make space related corporations. |
Parsifal (Kebir Blue) | Friday, April 30, 2010 - 09:31 pm so, how do we make money from space stations? |
Jiang Hu Warrior (Fearless Blue) | Friday, April 30, 2010 - 11:56 pm eh? eh? are we missing something, stations making money......my advice invest in space components and solid missile fuel! |
Ranger Rick (Fearless Blue) | Saturday, May 1, 2010 - 09:52 pm I love the new strategies this will bring up. Weapons are cheaper on fb but more money can be made on lu. I think I am going to become an arms dealer for wars on lu with my corps on fb and make so much money I can retire to the islands. |
Jee (Little Upsilon) | Sunday, May 2, 2010 - 05:10 pm I will wait to judge the space program until it is finish but so far i don't see any reason i will use it. I anticipate a lot of 'clicks' for a very minimum profit once you include the booster to go in space etc and the limited capacity of the shuttle. It does not sound fair either that people can transfer weapons from a world where they we're cheaper on purpose ( war world ) to flood other market. Hopefully the quantity that can be put on the shuttle is very small. Also are we still limited to ~500B per month or is it unlimited? Because if it is unlimited , well wars gonna gets unfair too . But that i guess i have to wait and see. I would like to see the market transaction log for product i sell manually on the world market but i guess a space program is more flashy. Jee~LU |
Psycho_Honey (Little Upsilon) | Sunday, May 2, 2010 - 06:22 pm Actually any two players are bound by the same rules and capabilities as far as transferring, so I fail to see how war will become unfair. Maybe it is just me? |
Jee (Little Upsilon) | Sunday, May 2, 2010 - 08:41 pm I understand your point of view that if one bother to make a country on FB and transfer weapons to LU he deserve a reward for his effort and it is my fault for not doing so i agree , but I mean it more toward a CEO point of view or a country who have weapon corporations. I avoid building weapon corporation because the market fluctuate too much with people dumping stocks randomly. It's fine tho i can live with that. I may be wrong , but i read somewhere that weapons on fb we're cheaper 'because' it is a war world, i am not talking about market fluctuation. I may be wrong i dont have a FB country. We will see how things work out when it is launched. |
jakester34 (White Giant) | Sunday, May 2, 2010 - 11:11 pm Jee~LU - "I anticipate a lot of 'clicks' for a very minimum profit once you include the booster to go in space etc and the limited capacity of the shuttle." I second that. Actually, I will stand on my soapbox and SECOND THAT! |
Psycho_Honey (Little Upsilon) | Monday, May 3, 2010 - 01:37 am Historically in the last two years I have been playing weapons corps on LU have been very profitable. Up until recently some changes were made that curbed weapons being a desirable market. You can always stimulate the weapons market, by going out and stirring up some trouble. There was a time I only produced interceptor and helicopter missiles. Whenever war was on the horizon, those corps made me so much money. If war failed to produce itself, I'd find something to stimulate the possibility of a war. Always worked for me, still does. |
