this is a thinly disguised method of forcing people to go to level 5 and expend GC...those at level 5 or above will become more dominant and those below that level will stagnate...you can live without Quality/Effectivity Upgrade corps, but not being able to have FMU corps and having to rely on market availability will be a serious economic handicap...this in turn will discourage newer players from remaining and ultimately reduce total number of players...if you REALLY must raise the level of corp minimum level, i would suggest your strategic force corps which while important is NOT an economic necessity...very shortsighted SimCountry

Level 5 ... pfft ... level two and a half.

If you are playing this game for real, level 6 (the old level 3) is easy. No need to spend GCs. Anyone who is going to last can make it.

Hugs and respect

I go back and forth on this...on one hand it can help stabilize some markets which can get flooded when people start building like 10 AF corps at once...on the other hand when you are starting your country you should be able to build the most profitable corps like FMU, EP, etc. It seems to me that the biggest impact this has is on forcing people to rely more on CEO corps which is tough for new people who don't know anything about CEO's or how to get the corps or why they are beneficial.

I don't like this. But I think it is nutty to say this is some devious plot of W3C's to force players to spend coins. If anything, it helps them (net) gain them.

I would prefer something around fixed capital accumulation, missions and "action -> consequence".

I agree...I forgot about that part of the post...getting to and maintaining higher levels does not cost you GC, it gives you/helps you earn more GC.

"but not being able to have FMU corps and having to rely on market availability will be a serious economic handicap"

Please tell me you are not contracting your own FMU.
