HORDO (Little Upsilon) | Wednesday, February 3, 2010 - 04:26 pm Hey - I returned from a 3 day holiday to find all of my slave countries destroyed & taken by enemy forces. I tried to turn off secured mode to attack and the message says my war index is above 500 so I cannot turn it off. Does this mean I can never attack with my main country unless I have no army? This sounds stupid. please tell me this war game is not that lame~ ASGARD |
whiteboy (Little Upsilon) | Wednesday, February 3, 2010 - 07:15 pm I believe that this rule was put into place to keep people from building large war slaves while in secured mode and then pulling them out of 'secured hibernation' and hitting players who had no idea of the potential threat. Also, I believe you are one of the members of DTA and if that is the case...the dumbest thing you could do right now would be to pull that country out of secured and start trying to attack with it...you'll lose it too...you're outmatched heavily. Do yourself a favor and send a message to those who have your old countries and make them an offer to purchase it back, then rebuild them and go for your revenge...that's your only shot. Don't make the mistake of losing your last country by thinking to hastily. |
Inanna (Golden Rainbow) | Thursday, February 4, 2010 - 01:51 am Hordo, don't buy any country you lose back ever. That would be a Superior moronic move above all other options. I think to take someones country in exchange for a ransom should be outlawed. That is a decent racket yes I know. Would it make sense to buy up to 5 slaves costing up to 250 gc even at minimum and risk losing them all over again? No. |
whiteboy (Little Upsilon) | Thursday, February 4, 2010 - 02:41 am Come on Wendy...it is entirely reasonable to do so instead of letting the country be stripped to nothing and then de-regged with 20 mil pop so that you can then take it back as a c3 with 9-10 mil pop and spend even more GC getting it put back together. I know as someone who has both taken and lost big countries that when I have lost a big country it requires a large amount of time and resources to rebuild even if you are able to take it back once it has been stripped and when I have taken countries I would be more than willing to sell them back to the person (typically, except a few of you who I dislike immensely) for far less than the value of the country because of the time it takes to actually strip a country. Calling it a ransom isn't reasonable...there are benefits to both players especially if the player who has taken the country is reasonable and is willing to sell back the country at a price below market to save the time of having to strip the assets. Your example of buying 5 slaves at a minimum of 250 GC not making sense only applies if the player doesn't intend to re-build them...because even if all that is left is 20 mil pop which is 10 mil more than the average c3, so just the pop at 5GC a piece is worth the 50GC...even assuming that nothing else is left. As far as them being re-taken again...whether he rebuilds himself or purchases back won't make a difference with that scenario... |
