FarmerBob (Little Upsilon) | Monday, February 16, 2009 - 05:04 am A recommendation for those converting large numbers of professionals into HLW: The minimum age of HLW is 24 years. Conversions of nurses or HTE into HLW will result in some HLW being "underage" by demographic standards. Nurses and HTE have minimum ages of 21. Underage HLW will be autoconverted to LLW upon the next month's update in that case. Therefore stick to LLM and teachers for HLW conversions, and use nurses/HTE for MLW. I have tested and confirmed this. Just a little help for those who might need it. |

Lolosaurus (Little Upsilon) | Monday, February 16, 2009 - 05:27 am Interesting. |
Slare (Golden Rainbow) | Monday, February 16, 2009 - 05:31 am Geez, age restrictions on worker classes higher than the age restrictions on professionals? That's just silly. If they really feel the need to implent multiple age restructions, it should be something simple like: workers<low level profs<Hi level profs<executives You should always be able to down convert professionals to workers. |
FarmerBob (Little Upsilon) | Monday, February 16, 2009 - 05:35 am This restriction on conversions has been around since implementation. It had just occurred to me that many players may have been unaware of it, so I decided to post it. But to be fair, if one considers the blue collar professions that have apprenticeships, long training periods, eg tool and die makers, or governmental age requirements, eg commercial drivers, it does make a little sense. |
Petra Arkanian (Little Upsilon) | Monday, February 16, 2009 - 05:55 am I'm going to have to start doing cocaine off of Laguna's thighs just to tolerate playing this intolerable game anymore. |
FarmerBob (Little Upsilon) | Monday, February 16, 2009 - 05:56 am Wear sunglasses, Wild. Laguna's skin has been known to blind the unprotected. |
quaxocal (Golden Rainbow) | Monday, February 16, 2009 - 06:28 am Wow FarmerBob, I wasn't aware of that. I do tend to convert ALOT of nurses into HLW most of the time. That might account for some of the problem. I will follow your recommendation to see if it helps any. Q |
ShcyzMattiCa (Little Upsilon) | Monday, February 16, 2009 - 06:42 am Great Info thx FB |
Karff (Little Upsilon) | Tuesday, February 17, 2009 - 04:41 am I didn't know this, and definitely have converted nurses en masse to try to fix HLW problems. Hopefully this helps me. Thanks! |
quaxocal (Golden Rainbow) | Tuesday, February 17, 2009 - 06:02 am Karff, use nurses for MLW, NOT HLW. From testing, it does seem to help some, though not signficantly. Still, anything is better than nothing until W3C better fixes the problem. Q |
Zentrino (Little Upsilon) | Tuesday, February 17, 2009 - 06:43 am I use teachers in some countries and nurses in others. Both somehow seem to disappear. |
FarmerBob (Little Upsilon) | Tuesday, February 17, 2009 - 02:41 pm Yes. That was the point, Q. Given the nature of the problem with insufficient HLW being created each month, every little bit helps. Just keep trying. We will get their eventually. Has anyone considered raiding C3s for HLW? Close everything and trade out the HLW? Be such a pity to wreck all of those finely tuned and pampered C3's, wouldn't it? |
coolwind (Golden Rainbow) | Tuesday, February 17, 2009 - 09:55 pm LOL BOb, I've done that, got a couple of hundred thousand and then they all went on permanent holiday. Over the last 10 days or so I have been trading away 2.5M LLW from my main, Kimberleigh, to CJe's countries for anthing that he could give me, and then converting to MLW and HLW. That's all I have been doing for that time, apart from building 3 corps and at this moment I still only have 19,000 MLW and 3000 HLW, and I'm having to convert 50000 a game month between each just to stand still!! That process will only last another 2 real days and then I will have to buy POP....just to stand still And that is with effectivity down to zero in both CEOs and both countries ! |
quaxocal (Golden Rainbow) | Tuesday, February 17, 2009 - 09:59 pm They are systematically increasing workers/corporation as well, which will make this problem even worse. |
FarmerBob | Tuesday, February 17, 2009 - 11:58 pm Hmmm. Raiding would be the best option, then, due to higher trade levels. 400K vs 50k. Of course, both methods will need to be used in tandem. Further recommendation: Upon taking the C3, cancel all orders and turn off country ordering. Close all state corps, transfer workers the next monthly update, and dereg immediately. Repeat. I do feel for all of you, but am at a loss for why I have been able to maintain 95% employment. Smaller countries, perhaps. |
Man of Peace (White Giant) | Wednesday, February 18, 2009 - 12:00 am Thanks Bob. I wondered if it made any difference what workers you converted. I thought I noticed a difference before, but I thought it was just a bug. This will definitely help. |
