Váli (Fearless Blue) | Monday, January 12, 2009 - 03:43 pm In the grand scheme of things the trouble in Gaza is small. How many hundreds of thousands if not millions of people have been killed in sudan, somalia, sri lanka the list goes on. My point is there are much bigger slaughters going on in this world. Why are these other conflicts forgotten about and a relatively small conflict gets all the attention? |
Tattooed Priest | Monday, January 12, 2009 - 06:25 pm My answer is that the middle east is home of three of the worlds largest religions and thus the majority of the world are choosing one side or the other and relate to the suffering taking place due to being emotionally and spiritually tied to one of the big three religions. To where as most other parts of the world the slaughter is ethnic driven or politically driven and does not directly involve the religions of the world. |
Johanas Bilderburg (Little Upsilon) | Monday, January 12, 2009 - 07:52 pm Any reasonable person cares about the suffering of others. However we have so much suffering going on we need to stop the worst instead of spending all our time and energy on one situation. Gaza is a schoolyard spat compared to the Sudan. Once again I point out that Arabs are committing genocide against the African majority of the country. Hundreds of thousands of men, women, and children have been butchered. Millions are in refugee camps in neighboring countries. The world points its finger at Gaza with 700 dead and clucks in self rightous indignation. I point my finger at the slaughter being perputrated by an Arab minority and ask...Where are the hippies protesting this? Why has nothing been done to stop this? This is not a war, police action, or issurection. This is genocide. One ethnic group has decided to erradicate another. Sudan is an African country perhaps that is the problem. If they were terrorists perhaps we could get a little more notice. |
nix001 | Monday, January 12, 2009 - 08:23 pm Vali. By the time you hear, let along see anything that happens in the media world there has already been a delay. Sometimes by a week or so. In Gaza it's real time murder of children on a mass scale in a small amount of time with illEGAL weapons where the innocent have no where to run. Wrong! It cannot become a precedent. Hell, they can't even leave..........How many wrongs before it makes a right? JB. We know what you think...............Mass deportation. Anyway. We have already been through Africa. Whites cannot impose any rule. What you want is a Christian Army. |
Váli (Fearless Blue) | Monday, January 12, 2009 - 08:48 pm Nix the Israelis are not going from village to village killing everyone. They are going after Hamas and if civilians get caught up in it they are not that bothered. The arab militia are going from village to village killing and raping everyone they can. Two completly different wars. Both wars are wrong but sudan is a million time worse! |
nix001 | Monday, January 12, 2009 - 09:02 pm My next door neighbour comes from the Sudan. Every couple of months he goes over to see family and sort out his business. The Palistinians cannot get out. It is one of the most populated areas in the world. It would take 3 months for the Militia in Africa to kill 1000 people. What makes it worst is White peace keepers will only make it worse. There are about 3 reasons why Africa has war. 1) Recovery from the whites leaving. 2) Islam. 3) The sun. Nothing that Europe can do there. But Israel. Without the UN Vetoes by America alot would have already been done. I imagine Israel would even be doing what Britain did with the IRA. Talk. |
Váli (Little Upsilon) | Monday, January 12, 2009 - 09:11 pm millions have already died in sudan. Plus sudan is a big country. you cant stop people leaving it. Gaza is small fry nix. |
Váli (Fearless Blue) | Monday, January 12, 2009 - 09:20 pm The only thing is Israel is part of the western world. If you are outside of the western world you can kill as many people as you like. |
Jo Salkilld (White Giant) | Tuesday, January 13, 2009 - 03:00 am Sadly ... and you can call me cynical if you like ... it's not about the scale of the conflict, it's about how much is at stake in monetary and political terms. Iraq = important. Israel = important. ... Sudan ... what do they have that is worth fighting over? Hugs and respect Jo |
Pesco (White Giant) | Tuesday, January 13, 2009 - 05:39 am It's thousands of years of history and the clash of major cultures and religions all centered at one spot. |
The Grand Poobah (Golden Rainbow) | Tuesday, January 13, 2009 - 01:08 pm Sudan is also China's turf. They are the chief weapons and job exporters to sudan. They can and did end the slaughter. Though, they should be more responsible with their marianettes. |
Alexander Platypus (Little Upsilon) | Tuesday, January 13, 2009 - 08:31 pm thats a good question Vali. my guess is anti semitism has a lot to do with it. also i think its the concept of a relatively fake country full of rich white people oppressing some 3rd world poor muslims. it tends to get the ire up more than random 3rd world on 3rd world violence/malnutrition/etc. |
